Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 83 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently struggle with unhelpful customer service representatives, long waiting times on the phone, and overwhelming difficulties when trying to resolve urgent booking issues. People also report unexpected extra fees added at the counter and face major hurdles when attempting to secure proper refunds or alter their travel reservations. Though some travelers faced significant challenges with their itineraries, a small group of reviewers were happy with smooth booking processes and successful trips. These visitors noted that certain hotel stays and flights proceeded entirely without any complications, successfully providing adequate information, transparent rates, and reliable experiences.

I lost both my flight and my money.

My flight booked with Travelocity was cancelled and I was given a credit. When I tried to use it, they said they couldn’t find my credit or itinerary. I only got one vague reply and since then they completely ignore me. Feels like a scam – I lost both my flight and my money.

Never Trust Travelocity

I purchased 3 airline tickets from Travelocity for 3 seats for my sisters and I to fly from Secondi-Takoradi (TKD) to Accra (ACC) Ghana. Our flight was canceled due to bad weather and although I provided evidence to Travelocity that the flight was canceled, it has not returned my money. Now, each time I call, I am disconnected when I reach a representative. To be clear, I have always been polite when I call Travelocity, have never raised my voice, used inappropriate language or been rude. This company cannot be trusted!

I called to get the ticket number so I could get my advantage miles.
I was on hold for most of an hour.
All I wanted was my ticket number.
Not only couldn't they give me my ticket number they told me my flight from Philly to LA and my flight from LA to Brisbane, Australia we're standby's even though I paid over $2,0000.-
I have confirmation numbers for both flights from American airlines.
The call didn't give me the information that I wanted and after nearly an hour the agent nastily hung up on me.
Rediculous and customer service was very non-existent.

Zero stars for Travelocity!

If I could give Travelocity zero stars, I would. They make the process of refunds for fraudulent charges impossible! The process is so frustrating and their excuses so outlandish that you almost want to give up trying! DON'T USE TRAVELOCITY! BOOK DIRECTLY!

The price you see is not the price you…

The price you see is not the price you will get. The hotel was to e $154. Thought is was a locked in rate for 3 nights. Not! The 2nd night, the rate went up $100 and on the 3rd night it went up $35. even more. So what should have been $462 turned into $687 AND $135.89 "Taxes" which were fees kicked back for using Travelocity. So, with 2 rooms, all that extra money was doubled. Will never use Travelocity again.

Booked airline tickets for my daughters…

Booked airline tickets for my daughters weeding and Travelocity is saying our email was wrong and because of that we could not get a refund. we called several time trying to get a confirmation and was told that we did not place an order thru them and that they had never charged our credit card. We are disputing the charges with our credit card company but Travelocity is say no refunds! Beware of this company ! doubt if they will be around much longer with all of these complaints.

I had an extremely disappointing…

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Travelocity. I booked a hotel stay that I had to cancel due to a change in plans. The hotel confirmed the cancellation was approved and that a refund would be issued—but Travelocity never returned the money to me.

After contacting their customer service multiple times, I was given conflicting answers—first saying the refund was being processed, then later claiming it was non-refundable, even though the hotel clearly approved the cancellation and refund. It feels like Travelocity simply kept the money that wasn’t theirs.

Their customer service was unhelpful and evasive, and I was bounced between agents with no resolution. I trusted Travelocity to handle the booking professionally, but this experience has shown otherwise.

I will never book through Travelocity again, and I strongly advise others to be cautious—if anything goes wrong, you may be left without support and out of pocket.

Lack of accountability Travelocity

I booked a rental car with Travelocity, a subsidiary of Expedia Group, for the rental period 11 June 2025 to 25 June 2025. The Travelocity booking confirmation stated the rental company would be Europcar and in the ‘rental information’ they mentioned that “additional charges or restrictions may apply for drivers under 25”. At time of rental I was 25 years old and therefore no such additional charge or restriction should have been applicable.

When picking up the vehicle I was informed that a Young Driver surcharge would be billed for this rental. I contested this since the terms of my rental agreement clearly stated that “additional charges …. may apply for drivers under 25”. However, the Europcar desk clerk at Schiphol airport (AMS) was clear that no car would be rented to me if I did not sign for the Young Driver surcharge. Both me and the additional driver were 25 years old at time of rental and we were billed 300 Euros each for a total of 600 Euros for ‘Young Driver’, even though Europcar’s own rental agreement/invoice clearly states “Young Driver (19Y – 24Y)”.

Europcar’s website has since been updated to show the Young Driver fee applying to anyone 26 and under. This was not the case when I booked the rental and the original booking should have been respected; even Europcar’s own rental agreement system hadn’t been updated to reflect the new age policy of Europcar, as my copy shows 19Y-24Y.

Travelocity was quick to point out that supposedly they tried with Europcar but they are unable to get a refund or intervene further and that I need to deal with Europcar directly, even though I had made my booking with Travelocity and they are the ones who confirmed in the rental conformation that “additional charges or restrictions may apply for drivers under 25”. When I did not accept this complete lack of customer service they claimed they tried calling me unsuccessfully, but I never received any call(s). Then they sent me messages in the middle of the night, saying they couldn’t call me during non-business hours (I learned their customer service is in the Philippines, and I live in Canada): I told them they can call me 7 days a week during Canadian business hours. Then they called me at 4:30AM on a Friday morning, waking me up with a shock: I asked them to call back 5 hours later, but they never did.

Finally today they called me and I spoke to a supervisor. After about 75 minutes on the phone he concluded that Europcar was unwilling to reimburse the Young Driver fee. As a gesture of goodwill he offered me CAD$ 400 in 3 vouchers (1 x $200 & 2 x $100) to be used on future Travelocity bookings. Nice gesture, but I guess I have to make 3 bookings with them in the next year to use these vouchers, something that a) I had no intention of doing, and b) is quite a lot of separate bookings. One voucher of CAD$ 400 (or even better CAD$500, i.e. 50% of the extra EUR 600 = CAD$ 1000 Young Driver charges, since they are as much to blame for those extra charges as Europcar) would have been much more useful and appreciated.

Typical bait and switch

Typical bait and switch. We book 1st class flights to and from Seattle. I received an email from Travelocity that made it sound like American Airlines made the change to business class. The only option I had was to accept the change or cancel the flights. Now let's see if I keep my flight! Never again use a 3rd party again!

Travelocity is a scam.

Travelocity is a scam.Ticket prices continued to vary throughout the checkout process. After consenting to increased prices on two occasions, the total shifted once more. Upon logging off, I received two fraud notifications from my bank, JPMorgan Chase, regarding unauthorized charges from Travelocity for ticket upgrades, despite not having finalized the purchase.

Very bad website and customer service.

The site fools you.
We did a package resort and flight. The hotel showed in cozumel and the flight to cozumel but when it was all booked and searched for the hotel address we would have had to take a ferry to the mainland!! Ridiculous. Not only that the transport to the hotel was not included!! Now we have to find a shuttle then a ferry and then a taxi!! Crazy.

Travelocity agents can't speak English and make it sound like they don't know anything about their own packages.

Maybe if you super proof read everything, double check addresses you can use them, but beware of making any changes and check if transport is available.

Booked a flight Vancouver to Ottawa…

Booked a flight Vancouver to Ottawa with Air Canada on Travelocity. I did a chat with Travelocity to see if I could change my ticket dates. They said no. I contacted Air Canada just to verify and received same answer. A few minutes later I get an email telling me I cancelled my flight. Travelocity blamed AC. AC Management confirmed with me that Travelocity cancelled it, they could see IP address in India that did it and they could do nothing for me. It was non refundable ticket. I had to rebook and more than double the price.
The fight with Travelocity was endless but once they knew I was going to file a chargeback with my bank they refunded me the money stating it was still AC's fault. I asked them who was going to cover my difference in price? They were acting as my agent. They should cover me and deal with it however as I did not cancel my flight myself. They claim to have no knowledge of IP address to trace etc etc. I said I find that hard to believe that your techs cannot access that information.
I am still battling and filing about the difference I had to pay. They were upset that I cancelled my Car rental with them. I asked them how do you know I did it if you cannot see IP address? Of course they were caught off guard and cannot answer that.
Its pretty clear that when I chatted online with agent to ask about changing my flight they cancelled it. I downloaded entire chat. Not once did I say cancel nor did they ask me if I wanted to cancel. Travelocity needs to own up to their error.
More and more horror stories of this company. They need to be shut down. Someone needs to take out class actions for some of this stuff.
Great for searching for different flights but from now on I will book directly with airline once I choose my path.

Worst customer service ever

I booked a flight and made a mistake on my birth month immediately called them and they refused to fix. They rather cancel my booking than change a number. Had to cancel and rebook with another website. Do not use Travelocity
