Treated like a criminal
I arrived late last night. This holiday was present from my sister so she booked it. Her flight from UK Manchester to Paris to get the connecting flight to Guadeloupe was cancelled. She stayed at a hotel airport and travelled the next day. I arrived as my connection was ok, as i was travelling from London. I have been made to feel like a criminal. The hotel pursued money over hospitality. In the first instance i was asked to pay upfront £3750. It was a Booking.com reservation which my sister had booked and i had not told my bank I was travelling as the holiday was on my sister. It was 1am in the UK so i could not get my bank to authorise. I was told 6 or 7 times i would not be allowed my room. I offered up my passport and my credit card but was told no. In the end i was able to pay £875 for one night, but i said my sister would pay all the remainder on arrival the next day. I was not allowed to order room service so i went to bed without having eaten and again the next morning i was not allowed to put breakfast on my room. I had a banana, which is ironic as the hotel is Toubana. I went to book my sister the taxi the next day for her rescheduled flight and again i was told i had to pay the whole bill now. I told the hotel my sister will pay as soon as she arrives. The front of house manager also said i had said i would pay this morning. I said i didn't i said my sister will pay. She called me a liar. On top of this there was no consideration that my big holiday first night was on my own, and my sister's flight was cancelled by Air France. By 6pm the whole bill was paid as my sister had arrived. It is a hotel about money and that's it. Front of house needs retraining; the staff everywhere else are amazing. It was an awful start.
