Expensive and useless

Expensive and useless. The only thing this company has done for me is call me 2-4 times a year to see if they can rip me off further with insurances I didn't want or ask for. If you have the minimal (lovpligtig ansvar) insurance for a vehicle and you are hit is when they really shine. firstly they are slow to process the claim, then they will simply tell you it's not their job. They could at least send the claim forward to the responsible person's insurance company.
I once waited 3 months in another claim as the person who hit me funnily enough wouldn't make a claim of their own. This person was insured at Topdenmark as well. I asked if they could hurry along the process, and the reply was "well that's how it is when you don't have Kasko". What kind of stupid attitude is that? The only thing this company is the top of is doing the bare minimum they legally can get away with.

RE: Thank you for your response Topdanmark. However, I still don't see how this effort is any less than the bare minimum. Sure, you register the claim (I'm guessing automatically) the next Monday, but you still don't do anything. By not just forwarding the claim, which you surely must be able to do, the customer has to call a different insurance company to find out where the claim can be made, then you have to rewrite the claim to them.
Yes very impressive, you processed the claim in 2.5 months, just shy of the 3 month legal limitation to finalize a claim. The vehicle was repaired shortly thereafter... and what does that have to do with you? The mechanic was good. Don't take credit for other people's work. From you own description of these cases the only thing I got out of having this insurance was a 1/2 month faster processing time than the legal limit. Big whoop.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t assist in covering your damaged vehicle because your policy only included the liability insurance, which doesn’t cover damages on your own vehicle.
In both claims you refer to, you reported the damage on a Friday, and we processed your claim on the following Monday. We informed you to contact the other party’s insurance company. In one of the claims the other party was insured with Topdanmark, which is why we assisted in establishing contact. In that case we had a processing time of 2,5 months and your vehicle was repaired shortly after.

One star is still too many.
And apologies for the lengthy story.

More than a year ago I called Topdanmark because I was not happy with the price increases in my insurance package with another company. I have a house, a car and a small boat. They were good salesmen and offered a fair price, so we changed my policies to a new company. At the time I asked if I should call the other company, but was told that Topdanmark would take care of everything.
Fast forward a year, and I noticed that both my previous company and Topdanmark had made direct debits from my bank account. It seemed that I was doubly insured. Of course, I called them and after a long wait I explained the problem and was told that the original agent would call back. Two weeks later I called again and asked for a 'supervisor' or someone higher up the food chain who would respond, and got the guy in the next chair. He too promised to look into it, no call back. A bit annoyed, I called again and was put through to a young lady who claimed to be a manager, probably, in fact just the next available agent, I repeated the problem again and reminded her that it was not my fault, but I was paying for it. I insisted that I speak to someone higher up who might take some responsibility and ownership for their mistake. She insisted that she could deal with the problem and snottily added that this conversation was getting 'uncomfortable', I guess some people in customer services just don't like to be wrong, or was it because I mentioned the legal profession? Anyway, I was contacted by a supervisor, probably one of the group or possibly their leader, he wouldn't say, he said he would get someone to sort it out. I was called back the next day and told that they would be cancelling the policy for the previous year, refunding the amount and starting a new policy on the 1st of December, this time also cancelling the policy with my previous company and refunding the unused balance. I delicately pointed out that although this would look good on their books, I would not agree to it. I would be left paying for over a year of rather expensive insurance, as well as my time, effort and phone bills over the past few weeks, and perhaps someone should take ownership of their problem and make the customer happy. I also asked to speak to a senior manager again, but that never happened, they all seem so scared of them. However, she said she would ask for a refund of the difference and called back later to ask for all the payments I had made to the previous company, which I then sent. Next day, I was told that they would do what they said, which I had not agreed to, I wanted their policies back to the start date as I had already used one of them as legal proof of insurance and if it was not valid I would be guilty of fraud. They ignored my request and simply paid into my bank account what they thought I was entitled to, end of story.
Think about it, if getting insurance is this difficult, what would happen if you had to make a claim? Be careful before you buy. Every time I called, I was given evasive responses and spent more time on hold than actually talking to someone, and even got disconnected a few times.
I have since switched to another provider with a dedicated agent who has two direct phones.
There will likely be a response to this, beginning with an apology that reads "We are so sorry to hear you were disappointed with...". Totally mealy-mouthed and nauseatingly insincere, this parsimonious company prioritizes profit over service. The management has no regard for the "little people" who they have forgotten, pay their wages. They simply do not care. Perhaps they need to remember that highlighting positive experiences can benefit business. Conversely, negative experiences can be even more damaging, particularly as I frequently encounter many people, who also have insurance.

The reply below my complaint must be embarrassing for Topdanmark. Firstly, the writer has not even bothered to ask the Customer Service team about the case. Secondly, the best way to make a mistake disappear is to delete, delete, delete. As the saying goes 'take the truth, sweep it under the carpet and call it dirt'. So, of course, there is no easy record. As I said they deleted the policy. Thirdly, when you put a review on Trustpilot, they ask for things like reference numbers, this I gave. So, one might expect that the reviewed company either has access to this or can ask for it, so no false reviews can be made.
Most people would agree on the lack of professionalism here.

Professional and knowledgeable

I needed to talk to multiple departments and everyone was really knowledgeable and helpful and solved my problem in no time. I think it was one of the best experiences with customer service.

The only downside was reaching out because the website is in Danish and it cannot be translated to be able to fill in the claim there, when calling the robot you are asked to speak in Danish and when booking meetings I was always called earlier than scheduled and it overlapped with my work meetings.

Good Casco case fulfillment

I have a CASCO with TopDanmark for my motorcycle.

They have held their end of the bargain in a theft-and-found case, supporting the repairs.

It wasn't automatic, though. I still had to document and ask for several details during this process; maybe a 4*? But overall, looking back, 5*. :)
