The staff on the Reception were polite, courteous and knowledgeable when making the booking.
On the day of the work, I was kept informed of when the car was ready.

Had my Hyundai serviced at Toomey this week. Excellent while you wait service. Staff are great. Amber on reception is great. Always cheerful and helpful. Richard, the mechanic who usually foes the car leaves it clean and running perfectly. The service manager is very good and runs a great team

As I have written elsewhere, I fid the experience of coming for service at Basildon Hyundai a rewarding one. Everything is well organized and done efficiently. The staff are friendly and welcoming. My only negative comment would be the difficulty with parking and manoeuvring around the premises, because of the number of vehicles there, but, I suppose, the represents the popularity of the business. Sophie Latchworth is particularly worthy of mention. She is always businesslike and you are aware of her confidence in handling the matter in hand, and also her extensive knowledge of the business with encyclopaedic ability to answer any query. Her strongest point, however, is that she clearly cares about the customer. She would be an asset to any business.

Good experience as usual. Amber explained everything at the hand over and the car progressed swiftly through the workshop.

I visited Toomey Hyundai Basildon at 8.00am on 28 Oct and it was so nice to be welcomed by a friendly lady Amber Mayo, she took time to explain the services I booked for and other perks that came with the services. She’s the first person to tell me that I get AA cover for a year every time I service my car with Hyundai. Also, I watch Amber attended calmly and professionally to an irate customer. She listened attentively to the customer and offered the best solution at the time. Amber provided world class customer service and I was totally satisfied with my engagement with her. She kept me posted with the progress of my car, even though this was displayed on the screen. Thank you Toomey Hyundai Basildon for having top quality staff as the face of your organisation!

The Service Reception area is very comfortable, with adequate seating for those who wait for their vehicle to be ready. Very polite staff, who made us aware immediately when the vehicle's service had been completed. This was useful, as the progress indicator on the screen still showed the service as "In Progress".

It is also very useful to be able to book a timed appointment, to allow us to wait. All the staff at Toomey are very polite and helpful. A good experience.

Had a superb experience with the service reception team and the manager supporting and advising in the background. Started off dealing with Daisy and then when I took the car in Sophia was my liaison person. Both were very efficient polite with a real can do attitude. I did need to bring my car back into the garage but this was because of technical issues that needs further attention. This does not detract from the excellent customer service of the reception team. I’m currently dealing with Amber and she is clearly of the same high calibre as her other colleagues. Very impressed and grateful.

Walked in this afternoon with a problem on my Kona; the young lady at service reception asked a fitter to look at my car and within 30 minutes the problem was fixed and I was on my way. They could not have been more friendly or helpful. Thanks.

Amber was very professional, very happy with the service

My car was due its first service and Amber booked me in first thing, I know all the staff at Toomey Hyundai well as I have been using them for years for both my car and my wife's car. I decided I would wait while the service was done, and I was surprised when Amber brought me my keys in around 90 minutes. I declined her kind offer of a car wash as I was tight for time, but in all it was a great service. Thanks also to Rzonca Wictor (I am not sure if it should be Wiktor Rzonca) for carrying out the service and the video of the underside of my car

Great service and attention to detail. Sophia gave great and caring advice on showing me the sat nav and Bluetooth on the car

Had yearly service at Hyundai, was met by Sofia at the service desk, she was very pleasant, polite, friendly. Sat and waited for service as they moved from upminster to laindon and don't provide a pick up anymore. Bit of a distance but car was done quickly and also washed on the outside, nice bonus. I also spoke to a young gentleman about another Hyundai, he answered any questions I had. So in all I've given 5star review.

I took the wife’s car in for a full service and a MOT. Reasonably priced, especially as the MOT was free as part of the full service !
We were looked after extremely well at Toomey Hyundai, Basildon, by Sofia Latchford. Sofia explained to us very clearly how the process works from taking the Hyundai i10 in, getting it serviced and the collection of the vehicle. Sophia is extremely polite and pleasant and very professional. To us, this is a very important part of getting the car serviced, something that a lot of other garages cannot compete with.
Would definitely recommend Toomey Hyundai for servicing - (and buying a vehicle from.) 💯😁

Extremely disappointing experience at Toomey Hyundai Basildon.

I visited as a serious buyer, ready to purchase a Hyundai Kona Hybrid for around £23,000. I spent approximately 40 minutes discussing a specific 2025 Kona with around 13,000 miles. I was told I could secure it with a £500 refundable deposit and that the car could potentially be brought over within an hour.

I stepped outside for only 5–10 minutes to speak with my father, returned and confirmed I wanted to proceed and pay the deposit. Only then did the sales manager come out and tell me the car had been sold.

Throughout the visit, almost every question I asked had to be taken to someone else for an answer, yet somehow nobody established that the car they were actively offering me was no longer available.

I was then offered an older Kona with around 24,000 miles and promised a price within 45 minutes. Four hours later, after I had tried calling three times, I was eventually told it would cost around £1,500 MORE than the newer, lower-mileage car.

I understand that used cars sell quickly. That isn’t my complaint. My complaint is the poor communication, lack of follow-up and the amount of my time wasted while I was genuinely ready to buy.

Very disappointing customer service.
