Really want to support Timpsons as they have a really good ethos. However, spent £80 with them yesterday, on three sets of keys and two standard watch batteries. That was with the third set 'free' and... See more

What an awful experience at the Timpsons branch in Tesco at Blue Boar, Sprowston, Norwich. The bearded chap working there today (28/05/26) had such a rude arrogant attitude. Last time I will ever be using Timpsons.

I had been trying for a long time to get one of my shoes altered due to major reconstruction surgery on my right leg which has left me 3 cm shorter than my left leg. On a trip to Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, I spoke to the manager Russell who sorted the problem with no fuss, professional and with great skill perfectly added the 3 cm to my £120 wedding shoes for a very reasonable price, and now for the first time since the final operation in January 2026 (the actual accident was 43 years ago, long story and journey) I am walking as a normal person would, straight and level.
I will now be taking more shoes to Bluewater as my local Timpson stores in Essex were less than helpful based on the skill set, but they were honest about it when asked.
Thank you to Russell for all your help and advice

I've had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Johnsons Dry Cleaners/Timpsons.
I trusted them with an expensive pair of suede trousers, which were damaged while in their care (massive hole left in the leg). I had to buy a new pair from the same shop I purchased from initially and after providing proof of the replacement cost, the company still refused to compensate me in full, despite the damage occurring entirely under their responsibility. They want to pay £100 less than the purchase price and think that it is fair for a customer to be out of pocket.
What made the situation worse was the lack of accountability throughout the process. Nobody initially acknowledged the damage, and I was left to raise the issue myself. The response from customer service felt dismissive and unhelpful. Initial contact with Joanne resulted in an extremely long wait for a response, I had to call to push it forward.
Customers use dry cleaners for specialist and valuable clothing because they expect professional care and accountability if something goes wrong. Unfortunately, this experience showed the opposite.
Previously I was a regular weekly customer but I will unfortunately no longer be using their services, and I would strongly advise others to think carefully before trusting them with valuable items, you will always end up out of pocket.

Cut a couple of car keys repaired inside the Wolverhampton Penn Rd Tesco shop. Very good service from Paula, who was very helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks!

Took a belt into the Hackney Mare Street branch to be shortened and repaired. The staff member was incredibly rude, unfriendly, and completely unhelpful. He wouldn’t even look me in the eye or look at the belt before flat-out denying service.
To refuse a job without even assessing the item or acknowledging the customer properly is incredibly lazy. Avoid this branch.

DO NOT USE THE DRY CLEANERS!!!!!!!
absolutely awful customer service and they ruined my wedding dress 8 weeks prior to my wedding with no resolution. The woman who works in the pontypridd hub called Clare is the manager and quite literally confirmed my heavily embellished dress was just chucked in a bag and put through their cleaner. Not handled with care what so ever. No apology from 4 people I spoke to and Head of Customer care Kirsty was also absolutely useless to deal with. Avoid at all costs.

Had 2 keys cut at Hayes store in Lombardy retail park - didn’t work so went back and had recut. Still didn’t work so went back and initially he refused to give a refund as he wanted a 3rd go! I get these keys cut all the time and have never before had to go back, only went there as my usual shop was shut. Touchy fella banned me from “EVER” returning to “HIS” shop after I queried his key cutting skills lol.

I am Mr S, and this is from me and The Hidden Hands team. We have been in this industry over 20 years, and we have never seen a security company as bad as this for basic service.
WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT TIMPSON SECURITY FOR AGES — IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET HOLD OF ANYONE.
We have called their main switchboard number FOUR OR FIVE TIMES IN TOTAL, at completely different times of day:
• Morning calls — no answer
• Mid‑day calls — no answer
• Afternoon calls — no answer
• Early evening calls — no answer
Every single time we tried, at different hours, the phone just rings and rings — nobody ever picks up.
We were trying to talk to them about proper business matters, but you simply cannot get through. If this is how they treat people trying to work with them or ask questions — imagine how they treat customers with an alarm going off or a problem at home.
TIMPSON SECURITY CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ZERO.
What is the point of a security company if you can never actually speak to them? If you need help, or have an emergency, or just want to speak to someone — you will be waiting forever.
AVOID — YOU WILL NEVER GET HOLD OF THEM WHEN YOU NEED THEM.

went into Crosby Timpson’s , liverpool 23. Today 22/5. I think the guy running the Shop was called either Tim or Ian!! however he was excellent. He fixed my partner’s watch and even told him for a little bit extra it would be guaranteed for life. We had a nice chat afterwards. Would always recommend.

I would highly recommend John at the Timpsons branch in Goodmayes Tesco Extra.
The level of customer service I received was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. John was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely went above and beyond to help. Nothing felt rushed, and it was clear he takes real pride in both his work and looking after customers properly.
Timpsons are well known for their high-quality services including key cutting, shoe repairs, engraving, watch repairs, and locksmith services, and the workmanship and attention to detail I experienced completely reflected that reputation.
It is rare these days to come across someone who provides such honest, reliable, and genuinely caring service. John made the whole experience easy and stress-free, and his professionalism really stood out.
A real credit to Timpsons and someone I would happily recommend to anyone needing repairs, key cutting, or any of the fantastic services they provide

I trusted timpsons to dry clean my wedding dress and it has come back to me without being cleaned and is totally ruined.
The lace work is massively deteriorated, there are fabric pulls and tears in the detailing.
I only took it in to them so a couple of tan marks could be removed before I stored it and the marks are still there!
Customer Services refusing any assistance until their paid employee does an investigation to establish what caused the damage which will not be an impartial assessment. Will now have to go through small claims court to reimburse the costs let alone the fact a sentimental item is destroyed. DO NOT TRUST THEM

Timpson, Woking town centre - had my watch battery replaced today. Great price and then found I could pay an extra £5 or so and have the battery replaced free of charge for the lifetime of my watch. What a bargain! And excellent service and very helpful.

Terrible, rude customer service. I had an issue which they refused to resolve. The whole thing was done with a combative and aggressive manner. I used Timpson because it's a familiar name. Was shocked by my experience. It was an expensive mistake.

I went to Timpson Biggleswade for new batteries for 2 car keys. They fitted them and the problem was not fixed. I went back and they said both keys were broken, they said I would need to buy one keys. They quoted £575 but said they would "do me a deal" for £450. I was then told I would have to pay the deposit in cash. I paid and went back as requested for the new keys. They then told me they needed a pin and it would be another £50. I was now suspicious so went to my kia garage. They examined the keys and said the batteries had not been correctly put in and that the keys did not need replacing at all. Basically, they felt I was being scammed. I went back and demanded my deposit back, which I got without any issue. I approached Timpson head office about this as potential fraud. They said it would be look into but I would not be given details. I've learn't a lesson, avoid Timpson like the plague. There was either gross incompetence or an attempt to con me and head office really didn't want to know.
An update, after the customer service rep wrote - how awful blah blah, contact us. They failed to say I already had and the area manager called me today, screaming down the phone at me being exceptionally rude. So I have just raised a county court summons against Timpson. They partially admitted the claim and money is incoming apparently. I would strongly advise never use this company

Told me that the battery had failed on my wristwatch...completely blocked my view whilst he put a new battery in (allegedly) and then told me it needs to be sent away to be repaired...14 day wait..
Just baffling.....Will NEVER give my business to these clowns ever again
