Alex made me feel at ease and comfortable with my professional photoshoot. I am not comfortable with having photographs taken and I was very nervous but Alex took his time and ensured the photographs taken were of my preferred angles with the best lighting. I am happy with the results which is not something I say often with photos.

Alex and the team at Decoy provided photography and video work for our group annual conference in 2025 and we could not have been happier with the results.

The pictures were wonderful, capturing the scale of the event but also some personable, candid moments too.

The video footage provided such a great insight into the energy of the event and allowed us to create a wealth of marketing collateral and social assets too.

Alex trained us on photography and videography techniques, including editing. As a hybrid company, we often need to respond to ad-hoc requests to quickly capture footage and photos in an agile way but didn’t know where to start.

While there are plenty of online tutorials, I wanted to find a practical course, delivered in person to allow opportunities to ask plenty of questions and to guide us when practising the techniques.

Having worked previously with Alex, I knew that he would diligently prepare the training and explain everything in a calm, instructive way – he was great! Despite having a lot of content to cover in just one week, we took on so much information and he made the process enjoyable, rather than overwhelming. The course covered lots of practical tips too, including equipment suggestions and things that we would never have considered without his guidance.

Alex aimed the course perfectly at our level and broke up the training with examples, practical shooting sessions and setting up equipment – we would have really struggled on our own without this. Being given the support and space to learn outside our busy jobs, has really set us up for success.

We recorded our first video interview a couple of weeks after the training and we felt much more confident in our approach. Our notes from the training session have been so helpful and clear reminders of things that we could easily forget in a rush – such as lens choices and selecting apertures.

If you are looking to do more in-house and don’t know where to start, I’d highly recommend engaging Alex for training. It’s given us the confidence to try new things and feel much more comfortable in our approach.
