how to waste money looking for presention by a union

Joined this union with an existing problem with my employer. The union said they can help however, no help given. I tried expressing my frustration with them but all they kept saying I am here to help, I am here to help. You cannot talk to anybody, you cannot write to anybody, when you submit query on their dashboard you have to wait for a ghost message to appear for a day or two. If you have money to waste, give to charity instead. I was lucky I got £40 refund but I lost £60 plus stress.

Rip off not a union

I joined this union, recommended by CAB, because I was having problems at work and it said they would help straight away. I paid my £100 years subscription, but have had little contact with them. You can't speak to anyone directly as they have no number to call, you can't email them directly but have to chose category to email them about. I just received a leaflet about how to make a grievance, which I had already done anyway. I then tried to sign into my account and it kept saying my password was either invalid or empty even when I changed/requested a new one. So now I have had no help and can't get my £100 back. Don't even consider these people it's just someone ripping you off.

When redundanccy was announced at my workplace, I felt lost. I remembered I had membership with The Workers Union and reached out. Within minutes I received clear, precise advice without unnecessary jargon. They even worked out what payment I should expect, which gave me real confidence. I’ve now received my redundancy package and secured a new role straight after. Excellent guidance and brilliant service.

Scam Alert 🚨 NOT A Trade Union

Theworkersunion.com is not a trade union. Their website misleads you into believing it is and there’s articles saying they’ve been banned for this. Couldn’t find an email address to cancel subscription. Had to submit forms which I received no confirmation or response for. Waste of time & money. AVOID!

Scammers 🚨 Fake Google reviews, not a trade union.

I set this up for my mum, whose email address I have provided.

I sent 2 messages on her behalf for help during the first year of the membership and received no response for either. There is no email address, just a submit form option that I got no copy of when I submitted the form.

We then sent an email from my mother’s email address, I helped her send it (so it wasn’t from a 3rd party in response to the company’s comment), and requested a refund since we received no responses and to make sure the membership is not renewed due to getting no response. We received no response again but just an email to confirm the renewal.

The website theworkersunion.com is outdated, difficult to use and misleading. It shows a “google reviews” page where you can submit reviews, yet when I search for the Google review page, nothing shows up. I submitted a 1-star review but it didn’t show up so I can only assume they are fake reviews and certainly not Google reviews. What does show up upon a search of TWU is that they had ads banned for misleadingly implying it’s a trade union when it’s not.

No point in paying for help when you don’t get a response. I am still waiting for a response for refund requests for orders 85033 and 90102. (Copied and pasted these subscription order numbers so they are definitely correct)

Further response to company’s response:

3 negative reviews in a year is not regularly posting negative reviews. If you read the reviews, you would know I have been a victim of scams before and post reviews to prevent others from experiencing the same negative experiences. I wouldn’t consider 53% positive reviews as “regularly receiving positive reviews”. Some of the 4 & 5 stars reviews are followed by negative comments which clearly shows they accidentally selected a positive rating since the comment is negative.

It would be great if you responded to the website forms submissions on the dashboard as quick as you respond to the most likely fake reviews you receive on here.

If this wasn’t a genuine review, I wouldn’t give the order numbers as I wouldn’t know how many digits your order numbers are and I wouldn’t ask for a refund as funds wouldn’t have been sent in the first place . I respectfully ask that you respond to the messages sent from the dashboard from last month to resolve the matter.

Amazing advice/support and very quick response

Carl reassured me greatly and I honestly feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. A very delicate and difficult to address situation arose at work that left me in doubt as to how to effectively and best approach resolving it. I submitted my query relatively late in the evening and I had a call back before 9am the next day - very responsive.
The advice Carl provided on how to best address my unique situation plus the reassuring support that I’m not on my own in dealing with this issue was just what I needed to hear - that the Union will help and support me throughout.

As a new member who’s never been in a union before, I didn’t know quite what to expect but Carl was brilliant, welcomed me into the union and was very professional and incredibly supportive about my issue.
I really did make a good choice when choosing to join The Workers Union over others. I just wish I had become a member sooner!

I recommend joining to anyone and everyone. Even just for that peace of mind in knowing should something happen, they will be there with a very fast response to help.
