Bought the little cone things to go in…
Bought the little cone things to go in the ceiling void. Great solution to an otherwise stupid design for a smoke alarm which does not have space for connections and thus requires a hole in the ceiling (and thus the fire barrier!) directly above it. Arrived quickly, easy to fit. All good.

My builder and electrician unfamiliar with Thermahoods however website and helpdesk explained all and offered a sample to show electrician. Building control happy they met regs in a new 'cold roof'.
