We have just had a wonderful meal and fantastic service this evening 10th Feb Martha who served us had just started her very first shift, she was a ray of very sunshine very helpful and very well informed with her knowledge of the menu.
Her Manager Claudia was also amazing and couldn't do enough to help my partner with carbohydrates values for her meal.
Had an evening meal with my daughter at the old bell pub in old oxted.
Firstly we were greeted by a lovely warm young lady to our table. The service was given by the same person and throughout our meal. The food was delicious, hot &well presented.klaudia ( deputy manager) gave us an incredible experience from start to finish, nothing was to much trouble. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone. I am fortunate that I live close by.
Had lunch in the delightful garden at The Old Bell in Hurley.
Food was fresh and tasty, and the service was faultless.
Most memorable was our interaction with Kev the gardener, when he showed us round the vegetable garden and gave us a selection of fresh veg to take away.
Arrived to find Inn had cancelled paid for booking.

Went to check in to be told that our room had been cancelled and though paid for (in August - "no cancellations, no refunds") - due to 'a manintenace problem' they had no rooms available since they were fully booked. (The Inn appeared to be hosting a coprporate function).
We had arranged the visit through Travelzoo who had emailed us the evening before leaving home but regrettably we did not check our emails before leaving. Travelzoo email advised that the Inn had cancelled the booking c.1630 that day. Since reading recent '1 star' reviews on Trip Advisor, we were perhaps fortunate not to stay there.
However, my wife and I are both months off our respective eightieth birthdays and to be left high and dry with nowhere else booked to stay, I am quite frankly disgusted by the cancellation of a booking made and paid for directly to the Inn three months in advance.
Under no circumstances would I recommend booking this venue.
I have had to select a rating to get this review published, but '1 star' is one too many.
