Would give 0 stars if possible.
Was stuck in standstill traffic on m27 Saturday , which police closed both ways for 7 hours . There was apparently no route off the motorway which would have made my appointment.
The appointment was a birthday gift - sadly ocean rooms have a policy of zero rebook / lose of booking .
I message them as soon as I realised I wasn't going to make appointment .
I'm glad other services don't follow this company policy, they would have no customers ! Won't recommend to anyone , Shame , because a few friends asked how my treatment went and that they may book !

I booked a treatment as a special gift for my partner — something meant to be relaxing, pampering, and enjoyable. Instead, it turned into a stressful and exhausting back-and-forth of emails that completely ruined what was supposed to be a thoughtful surprise.

After the treatment, my partner’s hair was left wet, and we were told that blow-drying wasn’t included. In my view, that should be a basic part of the service, especially in the colder autumn and winter months. No client should have to leave a salon with wet hair.

What made things even worse was how the situation was handled. The salon first offered a full refund, then reduced it to 50%, and finally withdrew it altogether. I work hard for my money, and being treated this way feels incredibly unfair and unprofessional.

To be absolutely clear, this review isn’t written as a threat — it’s an honest account of how badly this experience was handled from start to finish. What should have been a relaxing and enjoyable moment for my partner became a frustrating ordeal that no paying customer should have to go through.

I booked a Japanese head spa treatment that did not meet expectations. The water was uncomfortably hot, there was a baby crying during part of session, and the service description did not make it clear that a blow dry was not included. My hair was left slick with product and required washing again once I got home.

After I contacted the salon to share feedback, the manager and owner initially offered a full refund, which seemed a fair resolution. However, when my partner followed up as requested to arrange the refund, the owner’s attitude changed. The offer of a full refund was reduced to 50%, and I was accused of being dishonest about my experience. The communication at that stage was unprofessional and unnecessarily confrontational.

Had the situation been handled courteously, I would not have pursued the matter further. Unfortunately, the way it was managed left a poor impression, and I would not feel comfortable returning or recommending the salon.

Lovely staff, great location, great service

I booked in for a back massage and a luxury facial with a lovely lady called Nikkie.

All I can say is wow! I wanted to just be able to relax and switch off for a bit, and Nikkie succeeded in this! I find it hard to relax in my every day life, but I came away from my treatments almost half asleep and not wanting to walk all the way home! Haha

The back massage was just the right amount of pressure and she made sure not to rush. But for me the best part was the luxury facial. It was the most relaxing facial I have ever had, the products and oils smelt amazing, and there was a lot of them! A lovely scalp massage too. I felt completely relaxed and sleepy during this treatment.

I would highly recommend this place, everybody made me feel welcome and it is a beautiful salon too!

Thanks Ocean Rooms, I will be back!

To say I adore this salon is an understatement. The ambience, the care that's put into every treatment, the aesthetics - it's everything you'd want from a beauty salon.
As someone who has been numerous times, I am always left breathless at just how polite, professional, friendly and talented the girls are. My requests on how I'd like my massages are always met, and I leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Ocean Rooms Beauty is easily the highlight of Southampton, and I highly recommend everyone who needs pampering, visit.

I've been there twice to get my nails done for special occasions. The first visit was lovely, the lady who did my nails was very chatty and friendly and did my nails perfectly - shaped them, got rid of the pieces of skin around them etc, waited for them to dry before letting me go.
The reason for giving 4 stars is my second visit. The lady who took me was running late with the client before me (fair enough, not her fault, I guess) and when I sat down she was rushing. She didn't shape my nails in any way, just slapped the nail polish on. She was rushing so much that she didn't wait for it to dry properly before she put the second layer which caused air bubbles and mu hands looked like my 5-year-old niece had put polish on them. Hours later it still wasn't dry because of how much she had put! I ended up removing it and just doing it myself.

Sophie Harvey is amazing! Ocean Rooms is amazing! Sophie is so professional, I had my top and bottom eyeliner done by Sophie and I cannot rate her enough, she is a complete pefectionist, and has such passion for what she does and truly cares about the finished result. Although she is extremely busy, she is always there to give advice on treatments and aftercare. Nothing is too much trouble, and the work ethic of Sophie is second to none, she is definitely a name to remember for the future. The ocean rooms itself is by far the most luxurious salon you will find, in the most seren settings. It is so plush, it is an extremely beautiful, highend salon, that just screams class. I would massively recommend both Sophie and Ocean rooms, you will not be disappointed!

When visiting The Ocean Rooms I felt like I was in a palace, it is so glamorous and inviting.

I had my eyebrows done by Sophie Harvey, who I recommend to everyone!! She does a fabulous job and has so much love and passion for her work, its admiring.

Having my eyebrows done has given me a confidence boost and I cannot wait for my next visit at the end of the month for a lash lift and top up on my brows.

I would 100% recommend The Ocean Rooms

When I first walked into the Ocean Rooms I couldn't believe how beautiful it was! So stunning and peaceful!!

Sophie Harvey has since done my eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. She is so professional and such a perfectionist, which is really needed when your trusting someone to tattoo your face! She has also done SPMU on my mum sister, and my sister in law is booked in! We are all so grateful of your fantastic work! THANK YOU!!

Such a stunning establishment, had the pleasure of semi permanent make up with Sophie Harvey , such a professional and friendly lady . So pleased with the results and totally recommend her .
