Honestly a great experience at the Bristol Bike Shop
In this tribute, I would like to especially mention Richard, who was very kind and patient with me throughout the purchase process and afterwards. He also answered all my silly questions. I don't like to take up other people's time, but when I had a problem, Tiren was always willing to help me, often for free. You can also discuss all aspects of cycling with him, because this is his life too. I don't know the others that well, but the Bristol team is definitely a very nice bunch!

Fantastic service
Ordered a bike on Saturday 23rd May, received it Thursday 28th May. That’s a 3 business day delivery and the bike was marked as “available” on the website when I purchased it.
I had a question about an accessory for the bike and called customer support before clicking buy and the guy on the other end of the phone advised me accurately.
One day prior to delivery, I was contacted by support to tell me that I hadn’t ordered a part for my bike which is required for an optional accessory I ordered. They easily added it to my order providing a payment link.
Bike arrived in perfect condition, with copious amounts of protection on the frame.
10/10 I can’t find a single fault with this company. Bike is awesome, customer experience is awesome. Fully recommend

Fantastic experience
I had an extremely positive experience as a customer at the Electric Bike Shop in Bristol. I had not cycled regularly for 25 years so was a little apprehensive and unsure of what I actually required. Special mention to Gabriel who went through all the options available, helped me to choose a bike, assisted with sizing and picking accessories. There was absolutely no hard sell, just friendly advice and guidance from somebody knowledgeable and passionate about bikes and cycling. Thank you also to Richard for the excellent after-sales care. These two employees are a credit to the company. Would recommend this store if you are based in the south-west and want to purchase an electric bike.

Poor service work and rude manager
I purchased a brand new electric cargo bike costing several thousand pounds, and within a couple of weeks it developed faults. The bike then had to go back multiple times for repair attempts, including occasions where I was told it had been fixed, only to collect it and find it was still not functioning correctly. What should have been a straightforward ownership experience turned into months of inconvenience, repeated visits, transport costs, and time spent chasing a resolution.
At one stage, the bike required a replacement part from a different manufacturer, which did not inspire confidence given how new the bike was.
My biggest frustration was the repeated inability to properly diagnose and resolve issues that should have been identified and addressed much earlier.
To be fair, the customer service team and the individuals I dealt with via email were genuinely very helpful, professional, and worked hard to try to find a resolution. After a long process, they proposed an alternative replacement bike, which I test rode and was prepared to proceed with, despite this requiring a significant additional payment from me.
Unfortunately, my experience at store level completely changed that decision. Following the test ride, I was told by the store manager that the replacement bike would take several weeks to arrive. This was particularly frustrating given that the company’s own website indicated much shorter availability, and I was also told this without the store’s stock position apparently having been checked first. After already being without a bike for a prolonged period, this created further uncertainty and significantly undermined my confidence in moving forward.
As a result, instead of proceeding with the replacement, I chose to take a refund and purchase elsewhere.
I also found my in-store and telephone interactions at this stage to be dismissive, offhand, and lacking the level of professionalism I would expect after spending this amount of money and dealing with an issue that had already been ongoing for so long.
While I appreciate that a refund was ultimately agreed, the overall experience was stressful, time-consuming, and far below what I expected from a specialist e-bike retailer.
Based on my experience, I would suggest that future customers who still wish to buy from this company may want to consider using a different branch, as my concerns were specifically with the management and handling at this store rather than the wider customer service team.
Unfortunately, I took my business elsewhere and would not purchase from this store again.

Regarding the replacement proposal, we intended to provide information based on supplier availability and workshop scheduling at the time. Following further discussions internally, we were subsequently able to improve the proposed timeline. However, I completely appreciate how this added further uncertainty given the wider history of the case.
Your feedback regarding communication, workshop handling, and expectations around timelines has been shared internally and will be reviewed carefully as we continue to improve.
