The Courtyard, Pegswood near Morpeth, Northumberland was possibly careless over gluten free food.
We informed the Courtyard well in of our visit, that I am gluten free due coeliac & were they OK with that? They replied it would be no problem so we went & ate dinner there. Ambience was good, staff were friendly & I checked with them at all times that food served was GF. However next day I experienced severe gf upset which left me prostate for several days so I could not travel. On reflection I think that the apple crumble was not gf; the young staff member who served this was a bit flustered when I checked with her. Anyway I e-mail'd to inform the restaurant so that the error would not happen again. I never received a reply. Despite repeating my e-mails I still never got a reply so I don't know if they would learn from my experience. If you are gluten free maybe avoid this restaurant.
