My wife and I visited on the opening day of their store in Lincoln, phenomenal service. The food is first rate and the farmhouse sausage roll was delicious. We can’t recommend them highly enough.
Thank you so much
Great coffee, awesome work spot
The Cornish Bakery in Cirencester is one of my favourite coffee spots in a town that takes its coffee very seriously.
The building is beautiful, and it’s a great place to work from. WiFi and plug sockets next to every seat, so no awkward hovering near the one outlet by the toilet.
The pastries are great but I’m mostly here for the coffee, which is made wonderfully and always hits the spot. Staff are genuinely lovely. Busy place, but they always make you feel well looked after.
The only drawback is the takeaway cups, but I’ll use that as an excuse to drink ‘in’
Poor quality custard tart
I visited the Lyme Regis Cornish Bakery today. I found the service efficient and the staff friendly. I ordered a portuguese custard tart and was very disappointed with the quality. It was not an authentic one made with egg as the filling was like custard just yellow sweet and a bit runny. Not the texture of a proper egg tart. It was also cold. I was not given a refund as I had eaten the whole tart, which was my mistake. I have also found out that they never cook their scones fresh every day they always use the previous day's batch. Bearing in mind the high price of these items and low quality I will not be returning.

Scrumptious food and always service with a smile. The team are always incredibly friendly and efficient.
This time we sat in to enjoy a steak and Stilton, and a cheesy leak and ham. Absolutely delicious. It isn't our first time here and won't be our last. Fantastic team and food!
It's ALWAYS busy which says it all. There's also plenty of awards on display which is nice to see!
Very Enjoyable Place to eat
The staff are always very efficient, hard working and courteous. The selection of cakes and pastries, which are made on site, are delicious and very consistent.
We visit regularly and as the Woodbridge site is very popular, it is always disappointing when they are full.
Norwich Branch
Norwich Branch: My first time going to the Cornish Bakery, the Shakshuka Croissant was lovely and so was the coffee (latte). However, I found the customer service let my experience down. Queued at 8:30am, and only one lady on the til dealing with customers, no problem to wait, but just asked is it okay to order at the til or is it online (shop online displayed on coffee boards) and felt the response was quite short, but I understand the pressures of being the only person serving. However, when it came to placing my order I felt rushed, and asked to eat in, yet order was put all into takeout bags and cups. Unfortunately felt as though custom was not so wanted and would think twice about going back to this branch.
Canterbury Shop - The Cornish Bakery
Canterbury Shop
Firstly, we chose to eat in but were told that there are no plates due to the dishwasher not working!
Secondly, the toilet lid was broken and the toilet paper was resting in the sink!
Thirdly, we commented to the lady behind thee counter only to be told that we had been given a discount on the food and drink (takeaway price). And, we could always "go somewhere else" which if we hadn't already paid we would have done.
The sausage rolls were lovely. We cleared our own table! It's such a shame this place has dropped to this standard.
Popped into the Cornish Bakery at the…
Popped into the Cornish Bakery at the Ashford Designer Outlet recently and overall had a good experience. The staff were friendly and very welcoming especially Chloe who helped me with a recommendation on the apple and rhubarb pasty which was as good as she said it was. Very pleasant experience, I will be back.
Thankyou Chloe your a star.
Bitter latte and hot chocolate. A horrible chocolate brownie.
We went to the branch at Ashford Designer Outlet. We ordered a latte and a hot chocolate, the hot chocolate and the latte were both very bitter. With the hot chocolate leaving a horrible taste in my mouth for a good hour afterwards. I even went to the local supermarket to get a bottle of water to try to get rid of the taste. Even that hasn’t completely got rid of the horrible taste!!The carrot cake was ok but the chocolate brownie was very stodgy and ‘wet’. It is the worst £16 we have spent on drinks and cakes. We will not be returning to the Cornish Bakery again.
Cornish Bakery Hereford very poor experience …
Went in ordered warm large traditional pasty which is quite expensive & a regular hot chocolate, trouble was there was a 10 minute wait for the drink as they were busy chatting on the drink machine plus someone who works there went to the machine & made drinks for their friends who came in after me. When I complained nobody cared. Hot chocolate was not nice. I won’t be going again, expensive for what it is and rude staff. I had been 5 or 6 times before… cold pasty in the end
Poor
Very poor, Luke warm latte and americano very small so very strong as well, more like a black flat white. Very poor selection of cakes, only one gluten free option and no vegan cakes. There was a vegan pasty tho.
Would not recommend:(
Great friendly staff at Hereford branch…
Great friendly staff at Hereford branch - already know my drinks order which is a nice touch. The coffee is the best there and I can’t go anywhere else now!
Card payments only
Card payments only at Stamford. Who do they think they are, dictating that you cannot use cash, which is legal tender.
First visit to shop in Winchester
First visit to shop in Winchester. Really friendly staff. Great hot chocolate which isn’t powder. Delicious gluten free chocolate brownie
It was a busy time and there didn’t…
It was a busy time and there didn’t seem to be enough staff, but the customer service was still very poor.
There were no clean tables, so I cleaned one myself and moved the dirty cups to the side. However, a staff member who appeared to be on her break complained very loudly that people had left dirty cups there. What are customers supposed to do — sit at a table full of dirty cups?
Also, when I asked the staff member making drinks if I could have a knife for my pastry, he tutted and responded with a very unpleasant attitude.
The coffee was bitter and far too hot — not enjoyable at all.
Overall, it was a very disappointing visit.
The Cornish Bakery - Worcester
This is my first & last visit. I was in Worcester on a cold day and thought I'd try out the Cornish Bakery. I ordered a bacon and cheese croissant and drink and paid for it. I looked at my order and it didn't seem to be warm and I asked if it was heated and she said it wasn't. I asked if it could be heated and they said no they have no way to heat anything. Seriously ??? (So far not impressed). At this point was annoyed... I then took my tray with a cold croissant and drink to the dining area. There were only a few people at tables in there, but several tables were very dirty and stained.
I turned around and returned to the counter with my tray and asked for a refund. The young woman was quite indifferent.
I will not be returning.
PS. For lunch I went across the way and got a hot lunch in clean surroundings.
The West Bay Cornish Bakery is a lovely place
The West Bay Cornish Bakery is a lovely place to go for a coffee/cake/snack. Staff are friendly and efficient. It has the sort of atmosphere where I feel I could sit with a book and relax.
Cornish Bakery Gloucester Quays.
Cornish Bakery Gloucester Quays.
Coffee not hot, cream served in a small pot/dish — at least 50% less than the supplied Cornish Cream tubs, scones on shop window ledge ( not on plates) and also half the size, pastries layout over loaded. Shortage of pasties due to oven breakdown - was fixed after arrival. I think the area/regional manageress in attendance.
Store showing lower standards since previous manageress moved to new store/shop. ( Yes as a Cornishman I’ve used the Quays store for many years)
