After an underwhelming design process, AoB tried to defraud me of £460+VAT for an unnecessary professional calculation. When I questioned the need for the calculation (which it later turned out was definitely unnecessary), instead of addressing my concerns, they abruptly refused to continue working with me. This left me scrambling at the last minute to handle the logistics of building control on my own which was stressful to say the least.

Later, my wife reached out to Chris the MD to discuss the situation calmly. Instead of finding a resolution, she was subjected to an unprofessional 30-minute tirade/rant.

Even without this sour ending to our relationship, I can't recommend considering AoB if you have a modest project. Their focus and attention will be on their more glamorous work and it's unlikely you'll receive the expected level of service. Avoid.

Don't bother with this waste of space company. Didn't produce plans that were good enough given the history of the building. I should have gone with an architect!
They aren't cheap, but when I discussed parting ways, Chris became very defensive, demanding payment and threatening court action. Chris is great if you say you love his work...if you try to part ways, be repaired for drama, very difficult conversations and Chris trying to grab every penny from you.
If you take my advice: stay away.

We have recently finished the pre-planning stage. Overall we are happy with the service e.g. quality of drawings and processes to get to planning and some good ideas. We don't really understand what extra work they have done for us e.g. with suppliers. They could have been a bit more responsive at times - presumably competing needs of clients. The best ideas we had were from our family visiting site - our architect based it all from drawings and google maps. Having said that we love the architectural window they have designed at the front, the canopy and floating window at the back. Look forward to the next stage.

Amazing service and design from start to finish. Project was delivered in budget and on time.

Chris really helped us out with our extension and came up with ideas that we would never have thought of ! Thanks to Chris our loft room has a great sized bathroom and storage too. Chris really thought of our family needs and our kitchen extension works really well too . Thanks very much.

Chris and his team helped us with a number of projects over many years on a Georgian Rectory. They have re-adapted the property understanding compete modern usage along with being sympathetic to the history of the property and planning requirements. His innovative and adaptive thought processes coupled with a brilliant explanatory method made the whole process enjoyable, seamless and the end result of each individual project surpassed our expectations..
