Such a fabulous place to stay
Just returned from a short break in the Costa Del Sol and we stayed at THB San Fermin in Benelmadena.
We hopped in a taxi from the airport and it only cost 24 euros, so much cheaper and quicker than a transfer with potentially 100 other people.
The taxi rank is to the right when you leave Malaga airport, you can't miss it.
The welcome we received from the staff on our arrival at the hotel was lovely, we were a tad early and asked if our room was ready and luckily we only had a short wait so we headed to the bar for a much needed cold pint of San Miguel (about 3 euros each).
Our room was on the second floor and we were able to use the lift with our cases which was handy.
On entering our room we were pleasantly surprised, it was very light and airy, modern but simple which is absolutely fine for us.
There was a small fridge (extremely handy for any bottles of beer) and a kettle with a few tea bags and coffee (no milk provided).
We had the Deluxe balcony room and could see the pool but weren't directly overlooking it.
Now the important bit, the food...well what can I say? Wow!!!!
We were half board as it automatically came with our booking.
The dining area is lovely, clean and light and airy.
The food is buffet style so you just go and help yourself.
The food is absolutely amazing!!!!!
Breakfast was delicious, there was always freshly made pancakes (the chef makes them in front of you) eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, cheese, bread, meat, cereal, yoghurt and fresh fruit.
It certainly filled us up ready for the day ahead.
They also have themed nights for the evening buffet so we had chinese ,Italian and Moroccan whilst we were there.
There was a huge selection of fresh salad and bread every night, there was also some amazing cheeses and sea food.
Dessert varied every night but there was always beautiful fresh fruit and my hubby was very fond of the sponge cakes.
One thing I have to mention is the dining room staff, they are all absolutely amazing.
They work unbelievably hard and always have a smile on their faces and can't do enough for you.
Please look out for a particular member of staff in the dining area named Cruz, she is absolutely amazing.
We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary when we were staying there and she gave us a miniature bottle of bubbly which was so kind of her ❤️
The staff are such a credit to the hotel ❤️
Location wise the hotel is up what the locals call Cardiac Hill.
It's a bit of a jaunt up but there is a little shop half way up which acts as a good pit stop should you need to catch your breath.
Anyone with mobility issues probably would struggle.
The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the sea front which is fantastic, once again though there are steps going down to the beach front.
You can walk along the main road though at the bottom and find an easier way down.
You really can't beat the location of this hotel as you can walk for miles, like we did everyday.
The walk to Torremolinos is lovely and you go past the fabulous harbour where there are some fabulous shops and places to eat.
The only downside to the hotel for us was that our room was near the lift so we would hear people alot in the mornings going down to breakfast (it would seem alot of people think it's ok to have a very loud conversation in the corridor at 7.15am) and the same for people coming home in the early hours.
Unfortunately that's what happens in hotels though isn't it.
We can't recommend this hotel enough, we'd definitely stay again without hesitation.
