Scammers

Absolutely terrible, login is horrible, system is confusing, they bill you for things you didn't do because they know you can't fight it. Unethical and terrible company. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

Just horrible on all fronts

Just horrible on all fronts. Security by obscurity - trying to log in is pain in the ass with one thousand pointless numbers and codes. Trying to get anything done online is just impossible, forms are broken, links lead nowhere, AI chatbots are idiotic, and reaching a human being is impossible.

They did a mess with a simple thing as creating a contract. Eventually, when we moved in, we found out that the internet was disconnected as they cancelled the previously created contract and created new one the same month.
When asking for support we kept being forwarded to different people. The final person in the support told us the contract is set up and now you should have internet, then suddenly they cancel it and create a new one. This is such a simple task as creating a new contract for a new customer! What is even worse is we wait one full hour for someone to answer, then the call gets disconnected , then of course we need to call again and wait. Is this normal from one the supposedly best providers? And it seems they ended up creating us two contracts for the same address which we are still in the process of finding out.
We don't want problems, we just want a normal process like other providers we previously did with.

I purchased a Telekom prepaid SIM card

I purchased a Telekom prepaid SIM card from this gas station, but it turned out to be faulty and outdated — it couldn’t be activated at all. When I returned with the original receipt and packaging, the staff simply told me to go to the Telekom shop. I went there, and the Telekom customer service (both in-store and by hotline) checked the system and confirmed:
The SIM card is too old and no longer registered in T-Mobile’s system.
They clearly stated that refunds or exchanges must be handled by the original point of sale — the gas station.

I returned to the gas station with this information, but they still refused to take any responsibility. As a foreign visitor, this experience felt incredibly unfair and frustrating. I followed every step correctly, and yet I was left with no support, no solution, and €9.95 wasted.

This experience makes it extremely difficult for travelers to feel welcome or supported in Germany. Selling outdated products and then refusing accountability is unacceptable. I strongly discourage other travelers from buying SIM cards here.
Ich habe an dieser Tankstelle eine Telekom Prepaid-SIM-Karte gekauft, die sich als veraltet und defekt herausstellte – sie ließ sich überhaupt nicht aktivieren. Als ich mit Kassenbeleg und Verpackung zurückkam, verwies mich das Personal nur an den Telekom-Shop.

Im Telekom-Shop (und auch telefonisch über die Hotline) wurde bestätigt:
Die SIM-Karte ist zu alt und nicht mehr im System von T-Mobile registriert.
Mir wurde klar mitgeteilt, dass eine Rückerstattung oder ein Umtausch nur über die Verkaufsstelle – also die Tankstelle – erfolgen kann.

Trotz dieser Information übernahm die Tankstelle keine Verantwortung.
Als ausländische Besucherin war diese Erfahrung äußerst enttäuschend und frustrierend. Ich habe alles korrekt gemacht – und blieb trotzdem ohne Lösung zurück, mit einem Verlust von 9,95 €.

Dieses Verhalten ist absolut nicht kundenfreundlich und vermittelt Reisenden das Gefühl, nicht willkommen zu sein.
Veraltete Produkte zu verkaufen und dann jede Verantwortung abzulehnen, ist inakzeptabel. Ich rate dringend davon ab, hier SIM-Karten zu kaufen.

The router I received in the beggining…

The router I received in the beggining of my contract, Magenta TV + Entertain XL in May 2023 was an Speed Port Pro, reseting by itself it never worked well. I received a second Router FritzBox which was fine, nevertheless I was charged for the rental of both routers for almost one year.

Even if the notice period of the internet contract was 2 years. I was surprised later when I finished my contract, I received a charge of a rental router for one additionl year, total 3 years,

I would never recommend to go with Telekom, they will not miss anychance to get money away from you, poor service quality, unfair charging, attenders claim that all is according to platform, nothing can be done to correct that.

I am highly regret with Deutsche Telekom AG. I hope I will be contacted by their team to repair this problems a faced, when Telekom was the responsible for. Dont make the same mistake as I did.

I bought a phone number at…

I bought a phone number at Telekom.Then,3 months later, a SAMSUNG,paying monthly 95 euros(unlimited internet).Immediately at my new phone got installed 3 accounts,Insta,Tiktok,FB. Automatically. Because my number was in another woman's possession,since 2013 at least.I am divorcing my husband only because the problems the whole thing brought in our marriage. I was having phone calls from people I did not know.He kept thinking I was cheating. I wish I had enough money hire a good attorney to bring this thing in trial.

They really do ignore you

They really do ignore you, trying to upsell you things you don't need, and if they do answer you or call you, they act as if they are doing you a favor. Not worth the price! Choose the competition.

Fire in the apartment, Telekom is ruthless

I had my apartment on fire on February 2025, and I had telekom internet connection. I was asked to evacuate the apartment and couldn't stay there any longer. Since then I am trying to cancel this stupid subscription for 43 euros monthly. I am still charged. I went to three offices, even the big one at Marienplatz. No body helped. I tried WhatsApp contact, there contact form everything. They have only few options for termination: 1. I am dead
2. The property is in legal dispute
3. I moved abroad.
What can I chose from those?
Where shall I go to, to the police and say? I even have the police report saying that I have to move out of the apartment and Telkom didn't do anything. What am I supposed to do ? 43 euros for a student a month's grocery. Will never ever recommend it.

Don't use telekom if you are US military

Beware if you are US military telekom will still charge you several months after you PCS. I gave my 30 day notice and payed my last bill and I was still charged 3 more months for full service. They do this because they know there isn't anything you can do about it. The military should black list them.

Customer service is atrocious and the overview of your contracts is non-existent.

The biggest problem I have with Telekom is that they deliberately make it hard to contact them or to get an overview of your contracts. For example, I have cancelled a contract and have a confirmation email from them that the contract ends on 1st of September. Today I get an email that the contract ends of 5th of July. What?

So I go in the chat and of course get to talk with an AI that is completely useless. After a lot of tedious questions the AI says I can speak with a human if I first enter my information - telephone number and IBAN etc. After I've put everything in the AI gives me an automatic answer that no service persons are free and that there's also no que system - goodbye! Completely worthless and a waste of time.

I have had two contracts with Telekom, both of which I have now canceled. Can not recommend!

Telekom

Telekom, or their contracted marketing companies, operated extortive business practices in order to try to persuade us that fiberoptic cables were being installed in our building and that we should sign up because it would save us a connection fee. In fact, this was not true, as confirmed by the Hausverwaltung. When challenged, the person coming to the door claimed that it would cost us not only the connection fee, but 10,000 euros in the future if we didn't sign up now.

Not exactly honest company

Not exactly honest company. Prepaid plan recharge is 10 but they will only accept charging with 15. Also, they randomly clear credits and leave you without any connection when you are not expecting.

After 5+ years loyalty they screw us

Miserable customer management at the end of contract.
Ackbowledged our termination of contract. Forgot to send return label for router!
They charge router rental even after I have complained. Agent promised to cancel the rental free and yet they still debit the money! Now I am going to be very rude towards German businessses.
Lately you are just as trustworthy as the word of your chancellor!!
Shame on you Telekom!
