Chai tastes weak, doesn't have correct flavour profile. I'm impressed by the plant based tea bags, as usually being a coffee drinker the last thing I want is microplastics in my cuppa. 'Ethical'... See more

Written by the company

Back in 2006 the world of whole-leaf tea was boring, stuffy and outdated. Meanwhile, cool things were happening in the world of coffee. We saw the opportunity to get everyone drinking real tea again! And by real we mean big leaf and big on flavour. So, in November 2006 teapigs was born. Our mission today is the same as it was back in 2006: to get everyone drinking top quality, whole-leaf, great tasting tea - and to do business a bit differently while we're at it. All natural. No nasties. BIG leaf = BIG flavour. Simple!

Tea infested with bugs and no refund

Tea infested with bugs. I received an email from Teapigs Head of eCommerce explaining which batches were affected and what customers should do. Six weeks later, I'm still waiting for a refund.

There is no way to actually speak to anyone. They've clearly switched to some form of AI or outsourced customer service that refuses to provide any concrete answers and instead blames a website migration for being unable to process a refund.

I've been using Teapigs for years, but never again. Failing to refund a customer after sending out bug-infested tea is completely and utterly shameful.

Here's a tip, Teapigs: AI isn't the future if it's replacing genuine customer service. And without customers, your new website is irrelevant.

Abysmal service

Abysmal service, still waiting for my order. No status or tracking updates since placed 10 days ago. Have asked for cancellation and refund, been told customer service require 2 to 3 days to respond! What???

The worst experience in 30 years of…

The worst experience in 30 years of being in business. 18 days later I am still waiting for my 2 x 50 tea bags to turn up.
5 emails with so called customer services-corporate gobbledigook as a reply, talking about apologies, system integrations, merging accounts, yada yada yada.
Totally useless and still, 18 DAYS LATER, can't tell me when I will get my tea. Nobody calls me, as requested, and everybody hides behind the prepared script above.
Avoid at all costs. Used to be an independent company, now owned by the Tat Group, and do not give a hoot about customers.
Do not buy from this company.

Very poor service all round

Very poor service all round. I had been a regular customer of teapigs but won’t use them or recommend them again after my latest experience. I placed an order a fortnight ago which didn’t materialise. On checking their website there was a small note saying that they were moving warehouse and that orders might be delayed but this wasn’t there at the time I placed the order and wasn’t communicated to customers who had already placed an order. I emailed asking for an update and was told to wait until after the 22nd July. I waited and emailed again and they then asked for information I had already given them which was in the email trail. My order never came and I had to request a refund twice and am still waiting for this. The whole experience was extremely poor.

Disappointing lack of action

Have had a regular (fortnightly)subscription for a long time. My husband and I drink copious amounts of green tea. Our last order (14th July) has yet to arrive and the fortnightly subscription is due again tomorrow. I have contacted Tea Pigs multiple times. While full of apologies and explanations, when they do respond, I am yet to see decisive action to get my order to me ( 2x50 packs and 1x15). Last Tuesday 21st July. I was assured that the order would go out next day (22nd) via next day delivery at no extra cost to me. (You really needed to say that?). It didn't happen and here we are on 27th and I am still non the wiser as to if or when I might receive my order @£28.77.
Very disappointing after all these years without issue.

It’s 2026 and this is what you came up with?

Wow guys, the service recently has been bad enough, but what have you done to the website?

Toddlers reflect the human face better with a paper plate and some pasta than you’ve managed to represent Teapigs in a web browser. Christ almighty.

Rubbish experience

Recently one of our bags was recalled...no problem there was in issue, it happens. Then I made an order for 6 different boxes as I usually would. Got an email to say one was out of stock, again this happens. However was then informed that during moving warehouses that my order would then be delayed, and was given another date for delivery. This came and went and another email.promised a different date. When they eventually came it was two boxes of teapigs I DID NOT order! God knows what has happened to my original order im waiting on another reply.
Fantastic teabags, rubbish customer service

Awful Service

Customer service is awful. After placing my order, it took five days just to receive an email saying it had been dispatched. When the order finally arrived, one of the items was missing.

I contacted customer support to report the missing item, but the communication has been dreadful. I only receive one reply per day, and the responses haven't been helpful at all. Instead of asking unnecessary questions and dragging things out, they should simply send the missing item—they already have all the order details.

Overall, a very frustrating experience, and I wouldn't recommend ordering from them based on the poor customer service alone.

I placed an online order 10 days ago…

I placed an online order 10 days ago and have heard nothing since. The order on the website says not fulfilled and the only way of contacting is via a contact form on the website from which I have received an AI bot response saying they have passed my concern to the right department to follow up. There is no email contact or phone number. My money has been taken and I have no way to speak to anyone or make a complaint. This level of service is appalling and I would not recommend anyone order directly from them but source their tea from elsewhere.

Dreamy night time tea

At the end of the night, sitting down to a cup of herbal tea is an absolute treat and finding Teapigs was a dream. Their night time teas and chamomile teas are delightful. They are nicely packaged, the website is easy to navigate, quickly delivered and the one time I needed it, their support was speedy and lovely. Highly recommended.

Everyday Brew Is No More.

Everyday Brew replaced.
Sadly the Everyday Brew, both loose and temples, have, according to the useless AI response on their web site, been replaced by English Breakfast. By comparison the loose version is like dust and lacks the flavour. What was previously substantial parts of leaves is no better than the contents of an average supermarket teabag, so fine that some passes straight through the finest strainer leaving a dusty sludge at the bottom of the cup. What a disappointment
