Hi, it works well. But since having the new battery, the hand throttle is not engaging, which is annoying, as it is a good way to help you get moving, especially on an incline. Like with the last batt... See more

I am incredibly disappointed
I am incredibly disappointed with both the product quality and the support from this company.
Here is why you should think twice before buying:
* **Defective Product:** The kit failed after barely any use. The bike monitor broke completely, leaving me with a heavy, non-working bike that is currently acting as an expensive paperweight.
* **Sold Out Spares:** The exact replacement monitor is completely sold out on the website. This timing is ironic and makes me seriously question how many other customers are experiencing the exact same component failure.
* **Blocked Upgrades:** To make matters worse, the online store refuses to let me order the upgraded, more expensive LED monitor. They won't even let me pay *more* money to fix their broken hardware.
* **Abysmal Customer Service:** Getting help has been a nightmare from day one. I faced major unhelpful delays just trying to assemble the kit, and now that it's broken, I am completely stuck in an endless, useless AI chatbot loop with zero human support.
This experience has completely killed any brand loyalty. I was open to upgrading my other bikes, but with zero incentive for returning customers and shocking aftercare, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Avoid.
Terrible support.
Terrible support.
VERY DISAPPOINTING
I have had the Swytch kit for 3 years. It was exciting as a design idea to be able to fit a bike aid that could be installed without professional help.
In fact has been relatively easy to install, then and a joy to ride. After a year of use the starter component had to be replaced twice.
A further year later the kit failed for no apparent reason.
The worst is that there are NO HUMANS to talk to for customer support. After weeks of waiting to correspond via email with an actual human being (no number to call for help) I am still waiting for potential suggestions on what to do to be back on a running bike with a working kit. IF YOU DECIDE TO INVEST IN A BIKE ELECTRIC KIT I ADVICE TO LOOK AT A COMPANY WITH PROMPT, HUMANIZED AND EFFICIENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Super responsive!
I lost my pedal sensor and there were none in stock online. I contacted Swytch directly and Ksenia went above and beyond to make sure a replacement was dispatched to me asap. Now my bike is good as new! Thank you!

I contacted customer support over a week ago and have still heard nothing back. My battery/mount is defective so it didn’t align properly and cracked. Please contact me as soon as possible. Otherwise I would like a refund. Will edit review if issue is resolved.
7 Things to say about Swytch kits after years of using mine
You need to know a few things before 'Swytching' your bike, I have long regretted it since buying a kit in 2021, and eventually getting it installed in 2022.
1) GETTING YOUR BIKE SERVICED WILL FOREVER BE A PAIN. Large bike stores like Halfords won't touch it. Independents might service your bike and not touch the e-bike elements. HOWEVER this for me has been a very mixed experience. At best, they service the mechanics and it's all good. Worst case scenario which I had recently was an independent bike shop (Hastings Cycles in St Andrews Mews) where the guy damaged the ebike parts - no longer working - and very aggressively refused to take any responsibility for it.
2) UNRELIABLE PARTS. My friend has the same one, and the controller died. He had to find an independent specialist who sourced a part from ebay. The kit then stopped working after a fall on a mountain biking track. You also MUST keep charging it up during long periods of not using it. I had a problem with the battery almost dying, but found a workaround on YouTube luckily just in time.
3) Swytch does not care about your old kit. Once a new range of Swytch kits is out, the old ones are abandoned and you cannot get spare parts. You are $%&ked if anything goes wrong. It is hard enough to get spare parts even when the kit you have is still their latest range.
4) It is NOT easy to install. The pack came with complicated instructions, and did not accurately state what tools were needed. I tried and failed. In the end I eventually found a mechanic to do it for £60 (two hours work for a pro-mechanic).
5) Even when you want to ride your bike without the battery, you will have the extra weight of the motor on the front wheel - about 1.5-2kg extra weight - so keep that in mind.
6) The steering feels off and the ride is weird because the heavy battery is on the handlebars on many versions, and the motor is located at the front wheel. The latter is actually better for the bike in terms of less wear and tear on the bike's mechanics, but it feels weird compared to bikes where the motor is on the rear wheel or the crankset area.
7) Talking to a human about any of the above is very difficult!
8) IT LOOKS MESSY. Even when a pro installs it, there are black cables all over your bike where once there were none, or just one tidily installed. This was a superficial concern for me, but it may be more important to others.
9) YOU MUST PROPERLY LOCK UP YOUR FRONT WHEEL AND NOT JUST YOUR REAR+FRAME WHEN OUT AND ABOUT: this is because the front wheel will be where your motor is and if it gets stolen, you will probably have to spend hundreds of pounds replacing it, if Swytch have not DISCONTINUED THAT VERSION!
My advice: if you want an e-bike, sell your bike and buy an e-bike! I wish I had done this years ago. I do like my bike a lot, but after 5 years of having this kit, it's a big regret that I spent £600+ on this kit (it was 2021). The recent kits are £350-500. I've enjoyed a lot of rides on it without having to worry about hills and the windy weather but a proper e-bike is the best way forward, especially with fewer and fewer independent mechanics around in general that will service your bike when you have installed this kit.
Good product, good range
The swytch kit does exactly what it should. The range is great on the max+ model and the installation was relatively easy thanks to the detailed user manual and guide videos they have on their website.
Fantastic product and worth the wait
Having waiting a period of time for my max+ kit, it eventually arrived and I fitted the kit, which took around an hour. I can say, it's made a massive difference to the way I use my bike as was finding it difficult with age! I strongly recommend the kit to anyone thinking of buying one.
I ordered an electric bike conversion…
I ordered an electric bike conversion kit from Swytch in April 2025, with delivery promised for August 2025.
The experience since then has been consistently poor and unacceptable.
In July 2025 I was sent the wrong wheel. Since then, I have been stuck in an endless cycle of chasing customer service, only to be given repeated delivery promises that are not met. I have now been told at least 8 different revised delivery dates (August, September/October, mid-December, mid-January, mid-February, March, April and now May), with no resolution nearly a year after placing the order.
Communication is one of the worst aspects of this experience. Emails are frequently ignored, replies are generic and non-committal, and on multiple occasions I received no response at all until I left public reviews. Only then did communication resume — with further apologies and yet more missed timelines.
Despite clearly stating I expect compensation for the significant delay, repeated broken promises, and inconvenience, this has been completely ignored.
This is not a bespoke product — it is a standard order. The level of delay, disorganisation, and lack of accountability is not acceptable for any retailer selling direct to consumers.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Swytch and would strongly caution others considering an order.
Don't buy from swytchbike
This is a company that has no ability whatsoever to stay on the market. Great products, but customer management, after-sales support, and delivery times are scandalous.
I bought two kits from them, a Go and a Max++. The last one, paid for in advance, was shipped to me a full year late. Now I need some accessories — a new motorised wheel, cables, a sensor — and I find out that no, they don't sell individual parts, only the complete kit. So if one part breaks, you have to buy everything again from scratch. My advice: don't buy from Swytchbike.

First issue was multiple delays in shipping the product. The kit took about 6 months longer to ship than originally told to me. The kit also arrived incomplete and the wrong wheel color. The kit worked for two rides and then stopped working. I’ve tried everything to get it to work but nothing worked. I finally reached out to support and got a response that was unhelpful. It’s now been two weeks and I haven’t heard a peep. I really wanted to believe in this product and it was great while it lasted but I truly believe the lack of support and lack of transparency in shipping times make the product not worth it. Bottom line the negative reviews across social media platforms are true and not worth it. If I could go back I’d buy a proper e-bike instead of deal with this company. I want them to succeed but it just seems like they can’t get their stuff together.
I placed my order in August of 2025
I placed my order in August of 2025. Since the beginning of the year, I have been checking the portal on the progress of the delivery. Initially, the delivery was pushed to March 2026, then pushed to May 2025. Now the portal states delivery is end of May to June 2026? There has been NO EXPLANATION from the company, nor have I received a call back from them. All I receive are automated messages from “AI support”. I continue to get emails advertising “back in stock,” “fast shipping” which is clearly not the case. I am so frustrated that I cannot speak directly to a person/representative. If I had known this would be a headache, I NEVER WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM $800!
Update from past reviews
Update from past reviews.
The quality of the controller is pants. The install the easy were good. The battery has never given me near the full range because of the controller. The support to the product is rubbish, first the ai then the humans. No support is offered, no fix to issues. All the responses were that the issue was my bike, never their product ie the controller.
After nearly two years the controller packed up tonight. This was a replacement for one the broke on the first ride I did. Now I think the replacement has been a defective product since day 1. It never gave the battery power for full ride and now packed up and won’t turn on. Complete rubbish. Can’t even upgrade to the OLED controller to replace the pants base controller. So had to spend more money on this rubbish. If this doesn’t work I think I will go for another solution. Worse electric bike system I have ever used.
Don't become a victim to the scam!
I wish that I could make this review constructive and help the company improve, but I'm convinced that there is no physical product and the Swytch company is a scam. I placed my order a year ago and the estimated delivery has been pushed back four times. They rely heavily on an AI support tool that refuses access to human interaction at all costs. In a year of interaction, I've only been able to achieve human contact twice, resulting in around 4 emails.
The long and short is that you should avoid Swytch at all costs. Reading other reviews, if the product does exist, it is disappointing at the best of times. Even without that aspect, the customer support and communication has been utterly atrocious. The fact that they spam your email with "deals" only increases the feeling that they are dishonest, taking new orders while struggling to fulfill past-due obligations.
I'm all fairness, they have added two free accessory items of my choice to the order and refunded $30 of the total price. If the order ever comes with the added accessories, then this measure will have meaning. As it stands, $30 leaves me far from recouping my losses and is a cheap price for them to pay to wave aside a noisy customer.
This matter has escalated to the point where I am reaching out to other scammed customers to discuss joint legal action. Avoid this company at all costs. This product seems too good to be true because it is.
Non existent customer service
Kit looks good and it was delivered well. Unfortunately I can't try it yet as an incorrect part was delivered and I can't get a response from customer service, despite having had it for a week. All you get is an instant generated AI response that doesn't understand the query or the product and no one ever follows up. They've clearly outsourced CS to a third party unconnected with the product which is why wait times for queries are so long. Unfortunately I imagine this will fall on deaf ears as it'll be the same set up for reviews as customer service.

Firstly I purchased 2 swytch kits for bromptons. Kit worked well other than battery life is very poor. 3 miles if you are lucky
I have recently ordered the max++ which took 6 months to be delivered. The rear wheel option. For a 10 year old road bike. Unfortunately the pedal sensor that fits is for a square drive crank. ( do bikes use them now ) Swytch help line is either AI or very slow human.
Not a lot of help keep sending the same fitting guide Which is not applicable
Very poor service
Customer service is apauling they sent wrong size wheel asked me for photos of wheel sent them hoping I would get a replacement form no they asked me to send photos again 4 times this has happened it's coming to the end of the 2 weeks cut of for return's and have just sent me a AI message again will contact me within 7 days it took over 9 months for kit to me and now my wife can't use it am I asking to much for a returns form
Shocking support
Received my order on 30th April. I believe there is a problem with it and raised a support ticket the same day. On 1st May the AI bot told me that it was passing the issue across for a member of the team to respond to.
It is now 7th April and I've had no response. All methods of contacting Swytch direct me to the same AI bot.
This kit was ordered and paid for in August with a suggested delivery date of December. I now have a kit which I cannot do anything with until this issue is resolved.
General contact from Swytch bike has been poor. There was never any update on proposed delivery times.
This is not a cheap product that I can just shrug my shoulders and forget. This company has had £379 since August and I still don't have a product that I can fit to a bike.
Edit: 13/06/26 - I received my refund yesterday 6 weeks after receiving the wrong product and 9 months since ordering. However, this was only because I contacted the managing director of Swytch Technology directly. At all times the response via the support portal has been shocking. Typically taking days to respond to any query or comment from me.

Dead on Arrival. No reaction from customer service.
Order SW-0589632. Kit DOA (Dead on Arrival). Support (Request 598649) has not responded for 7 days despite technical proof of a defective mount. Formal withdrawal has been sent. Still waiting for a reaction.

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD Please oh please do not use this mickey mouse company. They have no customer service so any questions will not get answered and if you need a refund then expect it in 3 months, as well as constant emails to bots
Yes ebikes are a little more expensive but I bought one from halfords and never been happy.
I SIMPLY CANT TELL YOU ENOUGH TO NOT USE THE COMPANY.
An amazing piece of kit
An amazing piece of kit . Easy to install. I ordered a wrong sensor and Swytch sent out the correct one quickly and free of charge.
