99% data recovery from mechanical failure of a Seagate 2 TB hard drive
This is a genuine business offering a good service for a fee that is lower than many others would charge.
My Seagate 2 TB hard drive suffered a mechanical failure. Swansea Data Recovery recovered 99% of my data with their fixed fee, "no fix - no fee", service. I used their standard "2-3 day" service. (They also offer a more expensive "1 day" critical service.)
Firstly they responded quickly to both online and telephone enquiries. I sent my drive to them (signed for at 7.20 on a Tuesday morning). By 1 pm on Wednesday I had an email with their confirmed mechanical failure diagnosis, proposed data recovery solution and pricing - £349 +VAT for a platter exchange and data recovery, plus £50 +VAT for a 1TB Hard drive on which to store the rescued data for posting to me. I asked them to go ahead and they "booked it in" for me. At this stage I had not paid anything.
12.42 the following Monday afternoon, I received an email with links to listings of the file folders that they had been able to recover. So I knew for sure that they really did know what was on my disk. I paid by bank transfer (to Easy Data Recovery). I hoped my new drive with recovered data would be dispatched that day, but was told that it would be sent the following day (Tuesday) for delivery on Wednesday.
The new drive with recovered data arrived with the post at about 9.30 on Wednesday morning.
I assume that the "2-3 days" time estimate for the standard service relates to the time (in working days) between payment and them recovering the data. In all it took 8 days from my drive arriving at Swansea Data Recovery to the recovered data being back in my hands. But that is still pretty fast for a fixed fee standard service, so no complaints.
