This is one of the worst apps I have…

This is one of the worst apps I have had the displeasure of engaging with.

StockTwits presents itself as a space for open investor dialogue, but my experience highlights serious issues with how the platform operates in practice.
Moderation appears inconsistent and opaque. Accounts that ask questions grounded in public filings are removed without explanation, while repetitive promotional content remains active and unaddressed.

The platform’s response to reporting is equally concerning. Users are told to “block” accounts that repeatedly post misleading or unsupported claims, rather than seeing those claims reviewed or actioned. This shifts the burden entirely onto users while allowing low-quality or potentially harmful content to persist.

There is also no meaningful transparency. When accounts are restricted or removed, there is no clear communication of which rule was violated or how users can comply going forward. That is not moderation, that is arbitrary enforcement.

For a platform centered on financial markets, this matters. Investors rely on information quality. When engagement is prioritized over accuracy, and when moderation disproportionately affects those challenging narratives rather than those promoting them, the result is a distorted information environment.

StockTwits does not need to determine truth, but it does need to apply its own rules consistently and transparently. Right now, it does neither.

Pathetic experience with STOCKTWITS. Be warned!

I am an invester and am (was) subscribed to 'Stocktwits'. As such, as an investor I am expected to indulge in DD (Due Diligence stock research) as regards ' any' stock, share or crypto that I am invested in. All investors have that right, as do all investors around the globe! 'Stocktwits' allows such DD to be posted on its platform. I have always posted my DD with integrity. However, just recently, I did some deep DD regarding an aspect related to my investment, and I posted that DD with links to it, as I always do, for the community of others on stocktwits, who are invested in the same stock, for them to access the links and read it. That is all. Apparantly 'stocktwits' didn't like the DD I had done,. or didn't want its investors to 'read' that DD. Whatever. What they did decide to do is to immediately withdraw 'every single post' I had ever posted on their platform!... going back as far as since I first joined them!!! 'Pulled' them...made 'invisible' to all readers every single comment I had posted!!!! Obviously I naturally assumed by this extraordinary and drastic action, that 'something' in my recent DD post to their platform, had made them very very 'uncomfortable' to take such an extreme action! More than this, they also literally 'blocked' my ability to communicate with any other investor on their board in order to prevent any discussion with them. Extraordinary!! This bizzare '1984 OrwelIian experience'!! I've contacted their customer support this morning by email and severly complained. All I did was post a link to some valid online research that is accessible to anyone and everyone using the World Wide Web! I deeply question their 'integrity'. Such action has also forced me to question my investment! I can only assume that my DD (Due Diligence research, which related to 'blockchains in China' and was authored by two chinese analysts) contained 'something' they didn't wish to let other investors read. I don't know? I have requested today that they completely delete my account. Moreover, I am immediately 'de-investing' from a certain stock!!!
No doubt I will receive some email explaining their justification for their action. REALLY!!...and you decided to withdraw EVERY single comment from me on your platform going back how far?...PLEASE!!! George Orwells '1984' for all to see!! Be warned!!!
Just received this pathetic email from them;
'Hello Dryden7,
Based on community reports and a review of your activity or content, your account has been muted. As a result, your ability to engage with other users has been restricted.
Message:
Learn more about our House Rules, which define unacceptable behaviors within the Stocktwits community.
Sincerely,
The Stocktwits Team'.
Reader...see the rest of the 'complaints' about stocktwits on TRUSTPILOT. I entirely agree with them all. The 'stocktwits' community reading my 'posts', and usually giving a ('thumbs up) to most of them, were great and I wish them well. As for 'Stocktwits' itself, well, they are very aptly 'named'. I wash my hands of them with VERY hot water!!!

Suspect Site Full of Equally Suspicious Posters

I couldn't stand Yahoo! Finance so switched over to StockTwits, because I liked its interface better. I was doing fine for about a month until for no reason that makes sense, I was insta-banned for supposedly violating the TOS, while a small group of regulars, who do nothing but flame and post racist, sexist and homophobic low effort 4chan style insults and memes, got to continue posting. Gay slurs, misogynistic content and racist language are allowed to flow freely to this day, as well as spammy nonsense about "bulls" and bears".

I guess I violated the TOS by blocking too many of the morons who post on there. I noticed that on this site, posters frequently complain about getting blocked or muted, as if that's the worst thing in the world that anyone can do. This suggests to me that Stocktwits is one of those platforms that pretends to be open to the public but is only used by the staff and an elite circle of posters who either run or are made to feel that this is their personal stomping ground. Either way, don't trust it. The "public" doesn't post here. A bunch of manchildren who do nothing but attack each other, rant about
bulls vs bears", pump dying stocks and post crude 4chan memes post here.

Socktwits should be called Dimwits.

The only thing you will pick up on Stocktwits is bad habits. Most of the people posting will likely be broke in less than 6 months.

All you find is a bunch of inexperienced traders trying to pump up flea bag stocks. Then you have posts which are really ads trying to sell you useless trading software.

If you are looking for serious discussion on stocks and trading this is not the place.

Stocktwits was always one of the worst…

Stocktwits was always one of the worst stock message forums but now they actually managed to make it even worse by cramming their site with so many ads that even the frontloading pumper FURU's with their hundreds of thousands of fake bot followers are unable to post which is the only good thing. I guess this is so members now have to pay for an "ad-free" experience. (For the pleasure of reading moronic posts from Gen Z pea-brains who have no clue what they're doing) Biggest scam site on the internet. Avoid joining this repulsive site at all costs.

Staff doesn't care and allows bots and bad actors to fill the space with obviously fake/disingenuous comments and statistics.

This website is horrible

This website is horrible. It is full of AI bots that are littered on there to show engagement by users, its not real. Whenever users post an idea that drives sentiment the other way than what the hedgefund bots need it to be, you get banned. Was recently banned for "pumping" when I said dont believe the same bots who have posted for 4 years as the stock has gone from $60 to $3 . Nothing has changed, this stock is still a short. Scam site. Used by anson funds and other short selling Canadian firms.

Ceo of stocktwits is a trump hating Canadian as well who hates small cap anerica.

Banned or muted for any posts, constantly emailing CS requesting access.
Don't waste your time here. Seems like a bad experiment for the dead internet theory. Allows plethora of bots, but no real opinions or constructive criticisms are allowed.

Stocktwits is Far-right and full of paid pumpers

I've posted for 4 years, but I recently switched profiles because so many blocked me for telling the truth (they didn't want to hear that a company was going Expert and it finally did). Anyway, today I lightly shaded Trump in one post and was almost instantly indefinitely banned from posting ANYTHING. Didn't harass or use foul language, no racism, sexism, etc. Not even a warning, just 'BAM', you now can't post ANYTHING. However, there is a guy on another stock who constantly rips Biden and, you guessed it, [crickets] from moderators. He posts relentlessly and blames Biden for everything and nothing from Stocktwits even though this would violate "house rules". They are a bunch of crackpots running this scam of a website. Hypocrisy helps no one. Note the other reviews about how they constantly promote and manipulate their engagement and stock sentiment. Nothing about them is above board.
