Being open to an Activity site
Being open to an Activity site and understanding i did not have to wait for an activity that I liked to come around, i could initiate my own activity. I have enjoyed the Groups where many countries are represented and sharing. The company is inviting, encouraging and ask for ho est feedback on interactions which I believe hold people accountable to be their best, why not?

Stitch has proven to be a fun way to meet and spend time with new people without risk or pressure. Events are self-organised so are wide-ranging from eating out to minigolf to walks of varying lengths and opportunities to share music events. There's even a 'try before you buy' opportunity so you can see if it's for you.

Stitch became an unpleasant experience
I found that many people I met on Stitch lacked social skills. Many seemed new to socialising, and others were clearly lost and lonely and may have benefited from grief counselling. It was disappointing because there was no real opportunity or for friendship or connection.
I was also singled out by inappropriate men on Stitch and I experienced physical and verbal harassment - in full view of other Stitch members at times - it was absolutely horrible. When I reported it to Stitch support I was fobbed off and given excuses and no support. For instance, I reported a man’s harassment of me at a Stitch event and was advised by Stitch that one person making a complaint wasn’t enough for Stitch to act and that more reports were needed. In the meantime, the person I reported continued to attend events which meant I couldn’t attend. I realise that Stitch is not responsible for member’s behaviour, but surely Stitch has a responsibility to expect appropriate behaviour from their members.
I don’t pursue Stitch anymore because it wasn’t a safe or friendly experience for me overall.

Hi Michelle, it's Andrew here, founder of the Stitch community. What you said is very concerning to me, as we have a number of processes in place to ensure that not only are members made aware of the importance of being welcoming to others, but when things are reported, our members get the support they need. We have found that in some new communities where things are only just getting started, it's more challenging for us to ensure that our members by the right way, but over time, as long as we keep reinforcing the right message and responding when things do and inevitably get raised with us, those issues go away and we are able to see the sort of community that we see in other parts of the world as well. If you would be able to reach out again to Stitch Support, and mention this review, they will forward the message onto me so I'll have more context about what went on, what was reported, where the team may have let you down in their response, and what we can do to rectify things. We're not happy if even a single member feels as if the community didn't look after them, so even if you didn't get the response you were looking for the first time, I'd really encouraged you not to give up. It's often only one or two members who can create a bad experience fathers, and as long as we can identify them and remove them from the community then we can make it a better environment for everyone. Once again, I'm sorry about your experiences, but I'm absolutely sure we can rectify things for you, based on the wonderful experiences with seeing other members get throughout the community over.an extended period. Stitch has given me friends in two states, and exposure to many events aand experiences I wouldn't have wanted to do on my own. The majority of members are very warm and friendly, and as I have been a member for ten years, I can honestly say it's a brilliant program.

Joined stitch a few months ago
Joined stitch a few months ago. Thanks to a few members Im getting additional excercise playing bocce ball twice a week and occasionally walking with a group/. Making a few new friends. Great organization.

A great community with organised fun events of interest
The first event was a bit daunting which is understandable, but after attending a few events it is much easier and you meet so many friendly and interesting people. Some of the members organise events which is great, so I would encourage anyone to give it a try😁

Reallly glad I joined.
Have met some great people and been to interesting events, most of which I never knew existed. The variety of events is fantastic. My only negative is when going to an event for the first time and you don't know anyone it is difficult to know who to approach. I am not suggesting name tags, but surely something like a small flag would make recognition easier and stop you having to approach other gathering groups.

We do send messages to hosts to raise awareness for organizers of the importance of making it easy for new members, including things like signs and welcome messages prior to the event, but naturally we can't enforce that if a particular host chooses not to do it.
