If you like phishing, try Steam Chat!

This company allowed a single phishing scammer 76561199443342045 in 100's of its user community chat rooms "Steam Chat" the whole week of Winter Sales, 12-23-2024 - 2025 to spam spaceintrader a scam phishing website.

Don't support Valve & Steam that support scams. Don't give your log in credentials to account hijacking scammers.

This company also allows engagements of commercial advertising / spam for gambling in violation of its own Rules and Guidelines / Online Conduct. 76561199186465023 proof - groups/deskinsfans key drop advertising, thanks TannerfromKD and Valve!

horrible company.

horrible company.
randomly you get "This account may have been accessed by someone else."

this happened to me 3 times.
the 3rd time they wanted a cd key.
a spent useless cd key that nobody has any reason to keep laying around.
i gave them the paypal bill for my first purchase back in 2015.
i gave them a bill for my first phone number ever on the account.
i still got the same email attached to the account.
this company is literally a scam. nothing but a scam.
they randomly claim you been accessed somewhere else and then require you to give them information no reasonable person would ever have, if not your done and have to rebuy everything.

Yet allows racism/trolling/etc

Steam community - most cancerous place

Steam community is plain bad for a various reasons:
1. Steam forums are a big mess, for example they allow users to post in any language and as result you get jumbled mess with posts in foreign languages together with English language posts. For example, If you check CS GO forums, you'll see half of posts are in Russian and half in English. I don't understand why such a big and international company would leave their forums so unorganized like that. All other normal companies have English only language allowed which is an international language and sometimes subforums for other languages like German, French and etc... so if French people want to post in French they go specifically in that sub-forum. But no, Steam doesn't care about this. Their forums is a one big mess.
2. Moderation is biased and joke. I don't understand why such a big company like Steam can't afford to hire people for moderation and pay them. Instead they just recruit random people for moderation who do it for free and who are not only biased, but don't have enough time to moderate their forums. So, as a result we get a lot of stupid, spamming posts. What's worst about their moderation is the lack of moderation and how Steam allows everything, like naked and porn pics or Nazi symbols, pics and names. I have seen so many Nazi profiles and moderation allows it. It's just unbelievable, especially if we consider that Steam is a US company. Also there are so many toxic posts especially about politics & moderation won't do anything or if they do they might remove 1 from 1000 posts, because they're doing it for free and don't have time for Steam. There are also some creepers who spend 24 hours on their forums to harass users and get away with it or trolls who use Steam community as a tool to spread their propaganda and misinformation. And those endless fights, harassment and attacks because of politics... Steam community is a most toxic & most unorganized place compared to any other gaming places I have seen.
3. Steam community doesn't even have simple emojis to react on posts. Almost every forum or social media website has at least some basic emojis for reactions. At first they didn't have it at all and when I suggested I got laughed and told that Steam wasn't FB. Later, after few years Steam implemented emojis, but they aren't simple. If you want to post those emojis, it will take Steam points from you and whoever gets emojis will be rewarded with Steam points. Whole this idea is so stupid... It's just ridiculous.
4. Steam reviews don't have minimum characters limit. This means for example some troll can write a review like this "lol" and that's it. And I have seen a lot of stupid 2-3 words reviews there.

What sucks most is that, if you dare to criticize Steam on their discussion forums, you will be crucified by their die-hard fans. In short, Steam community sucks and Steam discussions should be avoided.
