The actual booking process through the Splendia website was simple. However when my flight was cancelled and I had to add 2 extra nights to my booking, they were impossible to get hold of. Several emails went unanswered and phone calls were cut off after a significant wait time. I contacted the hotel directly in the end and they helped me out straight away and actually offered a better rate than Splendia. I definitely would not recommend Splendia as they do not seem able to deal with last minute changes to travel plans which can and do happen all the time. It seems that once you have booked through them and they have your deposit, then you’re on your own.

Terrible service
Terrible service.
Received wrong hotel room on arrival and had to pay extra even though invoice showed what had been booked correctly. Hotel showed me their invoice from splendia with different details on. When I explained their error splendia blamed the hotel and are yet to refund me, just send lots of emails blaming everybody but themselves, the contract was with them and they failed to deliver, it's basic customer service!

Always enjoyed my stay at any of the hotels I booked with Splendia. I also had an issue with one hote a few weeks ago, and the customer services helped me and contacted the hotel straight away, I was impressed by their efficiency and attention.
My stay at Suites Avenue…
Really enjoyed my stay at Suites Avenue in Barcelona. Splendia has some great selection of hotels there. I will certainly book again on my next trip. And I have also got a bottle of wine in my apartment as a Splendia treat.

Untrustworthy and unacceptable booking practices
I was close to making a booking with Splendia and contacted them regarding a special offer which was not processing correctly. The adviser told me he understood the problem and realised there was a mistake in the way the price was shown. He said he would contact the relevant person at Splendia and get back to me. He told me that he would try and negotiate a great rate and inform me as soon as possible.
When he eventually contacted me the special offer on the website had been removed and the price was increased by over 50%. Further, the reservation had turned from Free Cancellation to Non-refundable.
These listing practices might be "legal" but totally unethical and unacceptable. My advice to anyone trying to book a hotel is contact the hotel directly. It will save you time and effort and will probably generate a cheaper price for you.
There are many poor reviews on this website regarding Splendia and I can see there is probably good reason for them!

Hotel booking with excellent service and interesting offers
I have used Splendia website to manage my stay in Paris. It was simple and quick and I used with advantage discounted offer (-33% of full price, breakfast included) for that stay. There were no problems with communication and I am sure to use this website for hotel booking for my future stay, there are plenty interesting places to visit...
I can seriously recommend Splendia to anyone who plans to book accomodation on high level.

A great resource
I have used Splendia to find hotels 4 times, and every time have been more than happy with the result. Their hotels are what I prefer: small, friendly with good service, and in keeping with the flavor and charm of the location. I have used Splendia in Paris, Istanbul, London and most recently Prague and have come to trust their recommendations. I recommend the site without hesitation.

Not with splendia.com! As a customer at Splendia.com I know that I will be taken good care of from searching their web-site to checking out. We have booked year after year via the web-site - and this is the only hotel-site we trust deliver the customer satisfaction and the high quality we want when we stay away. The hotels at Splendia.com delivers on "Home away from home". And as gold-members we enjoy free upgrades when available, or a nice gift.

Splendia, at least ones a year!
Hi guys, as a frequent traveller I like to stay in cosy hotels with a good location, good services and nice staff. Trough the years of booking hotels trough Splendia, I always had excellent hotels. I never had any complaint about it. The small selection of the hotels, depending of the destination, makes it even easier the choose. So for me, Splendia is one of the most efficient ways to book a magnificent trip.
Good deals on some of the nicest hotels
My experience with Splendia was nearly perfect during two years I use them. I have managed to book some very pleasant hotels at a very reasonable price through them. I had only one problem with Splendia (which prevents me from giving them 5 stars) - I could not access my bookings for 24 hours two days before check-in time. Fortunately, the issue was fixed in time, and I could look up all the details I needed before arriving to the hotel.
Horrible: Double charge, unresponsive, and vindictive
I booked one room in San Francisco for one night. Splendia charged my credit card twice ($69.80 deposit + $69.80 overcharge) for the one reservation.
I e-mailed Splendia. They replied that I had made two reservations for which I was charged. I contacted the hotel to make sure there wasn't a mistake regarding the number of reservations. They verified that Splendia made one reservation for one room for one night.
I e-mailed Splendia again (twice) requesting a refund for the overcharge. I never heard back from them. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the overcharge. They contacted Splendia to try to resolve the issue. The bank refunded the $69.80 overcharge.
Splendia canceled the hotel reservation without even notifying me and without returning the other $69.80 deposit that they charged for the reservation. Now I am without a hotel room on a night when most of the hotels are fully booked.
Do not do business with this unresponsive, vindictive, and unprofessional company.

Never again. Once is enough.
Never again will I make a booking through Splendia. They will not show everything when you make a payment. The total is NOT really the total that you will pay. Be EXTRA CAREFUL with the "hidden" Tax & Surcharge that won't appear in the total payment.
I've just made a booking through Splendia, at first I thought this website gave me the best price than any other websites, turns out that I have to pay like about AU$400 EXTRA from the total amount they showed!! What a shocker!!
From the total price of AU$1400, now they asked me to pay AU$1800 in total (including all those taxes and surcharge!).
HotelClub, Agoda & Booking.com can offer me a better price!
Just disappointing!
It will be my first and my LAST booking with you, Splendia.
Stick with Agoda, Booking.Com and other more reliable websites.

Thoroughly impressed with Splendias service and offers.
I was doing the first leg of El Camino through Northern Spain and the town we were supposed to say at was fully booked. Wearily we walked another 7km to the next town which was again fully booked. With nowhere to stay but an open sports hall, I googled nearby Hotels and Splendia came up in my search, Within 5 minutes of clicking on the Splendia link, I had La Perla booked in Pamplona and was relieved beyond belief. Awesome service and I cant wait to use you guys again,. Thank you!
deposit which is not returned
simply speaking, please find other service provide which charges all or let the hotel charge you all. if you use, splendia, they charge you the amount of tax and fee as a "deposit" which is not returned and the hotel will charge you hotel fee and tax and charges. you can't receive "one" invoice. two different money, one for splendia and the other for hotel. very unusual hotel booking service. i used agoda, booking, hotels, hotelscombined, expedia, hotel club....this is the most strange company that i came across.
when they mentioned deposit, it is not deposit money but their charge. i don't think they have smooth communication with hotels. i stayed 3 nights at a hotel in Shanghai and when I checked in the hotel said that everything is included in the fee. so i expected splendia return deposit. but they said thay because tax is not included in the fee, they can't return the money. so i had to provide two receipts to my company. the hotel didnt include the deposit charged by the splendia. i will never try this again
these days we have a website comparing hotel prices and ssplendia may come up first since they don't include tax. once you include tax the price will be same as the 2nd lowest. i checked this myself. the hotel selection is good but we can book directly or other providers who don't give us two receipts. very frustrating

Splendia asked the hotel to include their so called "deposit" into the final invoice, however, the hotel didn't include "slendia's deposit"
Again, the point is that splendia didn't include tax and charges, instead, they put this as "deposit" for their own fee. a
