Thomas Alton (AL) Curry, Clinical Pharmacist

PLEASE READ MY REVIEW BEFORE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE DR. NECKMAN. I, Thomas Alton Curry, RPh, Clinical pharmacist, first saw Dr. Neckman on October 30, 2024. I asked Dr. Neckman in Covington if he could remove my Intrathecal Pain pump. He said he had a friend and surgeon, Dr. David Rosenfield, who could remove it. Dr. Rosenfield on 12.19.24 to remove my Intrathecal pain pump. My copay on my BCBS portal was $275, but Alliance doubled my copay to $550. I filed a complaint with Medicare Programs, Appeals Grievances Dept, MailStep: OH0205-A537, 4361 Irvin Simpkins Rd, Mason, OH 450040. They resolved the problem & my co-pay was $275. BEWARE.

On July 9, 2025, Dr. Neckman installed my Spinal Cord Stimulator. Aug 12 started seeing redness & drainage. Dr. Neckman on Aug 12 sent me to Putman Hospital in Eatonton for cultures. After 5 Days, NO growth was noticed. Dr. Neckman had me come to Alliance in Covington for GRAM STAIN & AEROBIC BACTERIAL CULTURE. LabCorp was unable to get results because Dr. Neckman used the wrong type of swab.

Sept 15 went to Conyers for incision check. Dr. Neckman said “film from battery” caused the infection. I called Tech support with Abbott St Jude, and they said the battery was made out of Titanium and did not have a film coating on it. This just verifies that Dr Neckman didn't know what he was talking about. Dr. Neckman said if I didn’t get the Spinal Cord Stimulator removed that the infection could get into my bloodstream and kill me.

He scheduled surgery for me on Sept 17, and E-prescribed Clindamycin 300 mg. During surgery, Dr. Neckman did a GRAM STAIN & AEROBIC BACTERIAL culture. After my surgery, Dr. Neckman told me to order a 6-month supply of Sodium Chloride 0.9 % for Irrigation, and that I would be on this for a very long time. Dr. Neckman explained to me how to get my wife to change the dressing twice a day, where the battery was removed. He E-prescribed Norco 5 to my pharmacy. I had Kasey Dean, Charge nurse, to make sure he had E-prescribed to my pharmacy, but Dr. Neckman left when I was in recovery. When I got to my pharmacy, the Norco 5 wasn’t there. I called the answering service, but no one called me back. I went all night long in excruciating pain until the morning of Sept 18, when Dr. Neckman E-prescribed Norco 5 to my pharmacy.

Sept 22, Dr. Neckman E-prescribed Bactrim DS to my pharmacy. I logged into my LabCorp portal on Sept. 23. Lab cultures showed that Pseudomonas Putida showed that Bactrim DS was “resistant” to Bactrim putida. I called Kasey Dean, RN she contacted Dr. Neckman had me stop Bactrim DS.

Sept. 24 follow-up from surgery, Dr. Neckman wanted me to see an Infectious Disease doctor, he said the infection was in my bloodstream & I would be put in the hospital for several weeks. Dr Neckman yelled at my wife and accused her of removing the tape over my spinal cord. She told him the tape was coming off, and she just put another piece of tape on. As a doctor, I found this to be very rude and unprofessional of Dr. Neckman. He has very poor bedside manners. I found an IFD doctor in Macon near me. Nov 5, Dr. Neckman discharged me from Alliance, saying there was nothing else he could do for me. I asked what I was supposed to do for pain, and he said take what you were taking before you saw me, acetaminophen and Voltaren gel.

Before going to see my Infectious Disease doctor, I packed a suitcase because Dr. Neckman said I would be admitted to the hospital and have to stay for several weeks. On Oct 9, I saw the infectious disease doctor, who said I had a Pseudomonas putida wound culture positive, probable superficial, and I wouldn’t be admitted to the hospital; he could treat me as an outpatient. He instructed my wife to continue simple care daily with loose packing with Iodophor gauze. He said the Clindamycin was ineffective in treating Pseudomonas putida & Dr. Neckman shouldn’t put me on it.

Nov. 6, I saw the IFD doctor, who said my wife had done a great job with daily dressing changes to continue for 2 weeks. The infectious disease doctor said, “he saw no ID-related contraindications to future spinal cord stimulator implants”. This contradicts what Dr. Neckman said. I tried logging into my Alliance portal, but I have me blocked tried calling twice and left messages for Noble Resources Corporation for questions on how to receive my records. They never called me back.
