I purchased their blue tooth version over the ear medium sized hearing aids back in November 2024. I have been back so many times with the whole system not connecting, or either ear not working . Th... See more

Recently purchased hearing aids,£2000+
Recently purchased hearing aids,£2000+, from my local branch of Specsavers The Mall Bristol.
Since using them I have had an intermittent problem with the right aid that with some tweeking I thought I had resolved.
This week while on holiday in West Sussex I again had the recurring problem so popped into the Worthing store for advice or help in getting the aid working.
On enquiring about support I was asked if the aids were a private purchase or NHS, private was my answer.
With no hesitation or suggestions the reply was to return to my my store,The Mall Bristol, and it may take 2 weeks to resolve as the units may have to be sent away for evaluation or repair.
I immediately said that was not very helpful but there again you are dealing with Franchises so I guess they are not happy to resolve another franchises problem at their cost, I wonder where I would have stood if they were NHS supplied.
Will consider elsewhere for any replacement of aids or glasses.
So Many Problems with my Specsavers hearing aids
The Specsavers hearing aids are fine when they work but I've lost count of the number of problems I've had with them. I always feel fobbed off by the audiology staff at the Aberystwyth branch who do not show much interest in resolving the problems and the so called repairs carried out never seem to resolve the problems. Overall this is way below the standards a reasonable person would expect for hearing aids costing just under £1,000
Was fitted with hearing aids in…
Was fitted with hearing aids in Darlington store. I could not have asked for better care. All the staff were great but I must mention Helen who was so kind and patient to this anxious customer. A very positive experience.
Thank you.
NHS Danalogic Ambio… programs disabled... Why?
Dispensed with NHS Danalogic Ambio Smart 77 hearing aids from Specsavers in Stratford-upon-Avon. Program button allowing different hearing options was disabled. Only one option "All Around" was available. This is contrary to NHS Guidance which states that all functions of an NHS dispensed aid should be available. Don't understand why. Sent email asking why -- no reply.
Best service I have ever experienced in over 20 years of suffering with hearing loss
I had to revisit my Specsavers audiology branch in Bedminster, Bristol where I had purchased my hearing aids about 18 months ago. The reason being that I was missing a lot of the conversations especially in group gatherings. I had expected to have to wait for an appointment to be seen, however, I was seen almost immediately on the Monday by one of their resident audiologists. She looked at the aids and tested them having said that a software update was needed. This was done and she looked in my ears to confirm that all was OK . Having cleaned the aids she returned them and I heard an immediate improvement to all the sounds around. However, she booked me a hearing test appointment for the following Saturday.
Today I had that appointment and saw another audiologist, Daniel, who said that he had already read the notes from Monday and asked if I had being having any problems. He showed me the graphs pertaining to my last hearing test and said that the receivers I had were working on the limit of my hearing, and that possibly more powerful receivers would help. He installed two more powerful receivers that really boosted the sounds. However he said that these would only be necessary if my current receivers proved to be inefficient. He gave me another hearing test and said that my hearing was as before and that my current aids should be good enough. When I told him that the right aid was OK but the left aid was still a bit muffled, he examined it and said the receiver input channel was blocked. He immediately cleared this and showed me how to do so if needed again, whereupon the left aid worked perfectly. I left feeling like a new person being able to hear sounds clearly again.
In all my years wearing hearing aids from various companies, I have not received such good, prompt and professional service. Thank you to all at this branch of Specsavers.
Hearing test at cardigan specsavers
Hearing test, needing hearing aids but unable to purchase the expensive aids and no Payment options are offered.
I needed a copy of the result to give to my gp for nhs referral.
The tester said he would email a copy of the result but this never happened, called the store and emailed the store, to have a sharp stroopy response, that they don't provide proof and the tester would email the gp , but the tester didn't have my gp or his email,so I asked why they said this !
Absolutely exhausted with this diabolical service from specasavers, seems They Love to Watse your time as thier view is, if you don't buy a pair of hearing aids then they will waste your time , and be rude to you, l have in an email to me, that they are fed up with people having tests not buying the overpriced hearing. Aids and then asking for the test results ! To which they are not obliged to do, so I responded well that tells me your service is failing the customers expectations and needs and needs reviewing urgently, rather than sending stroopy emails to a simple yet reasonable request ! I
Personally l have now booked another hearing test where they offer payment plans, and offer the results and only charge 35.00 (if no hearing aids are brought) you can have a much more favorable outcome IF YOU AVOID the Specsavers hearing test and go to a LOCAL PRIVATE one 😉.
Never again.
Have been for regular eye check. Filled in the pre test form stating I have hearing difficulties and my partner would be accompanying me. The shop itself was very busy and noisy. Taken for my first tests, I had difficulty hearing the member of staff as she was quietly spoken and background noise asked her to speak louder a few times which she didn't so I had to keep turning for my partner to repeat. When I went for the next test the person was quietly spoken and wearing a face mask. Again explained hearing issues and had to keep turning to my partner to find out was being said. The optician then turned to my partner and said more than once, can you ask her if this is..... I didn't hear this clearly but my partner told me after making me feel as if I'm not even there and even worse about going back. After the actual test the optician completed the form I had filled in and read that I had difficulties. Don't they have access to clear plastic face masks or read the pre form beforehand? I fully agree with staff wearing protective masks but at least have an option of transparent ones for working with people in my position with hearing issues. Came out and am honestly feeling like I haven't had a reasonable test and am dreading collecting my new glasses in case they are wrong, can't afford another pair.
Shocking service and staff member lied
I bought two pairs of glasses one reading and one driving, went in as they werent right, I was told by a member of staff both pairs were made stronger, continued to struggle with them and found out they were the same, he lied to me, spoke to the manager and he wasnt bothered, it was obvious he doesn't believe customers, why change one pair of reading glasses and not bifocals its pointless as the prescription is the same, they refused to sort them unless I paid for new ones, shocking service avoid
Specsavers Harrow on the hill
Went to Specsavers in Harrow on the Hill to chat with their audiology team. Couldn't book a hospital appointment until November and really needed a hearing aid tube. Can you believe they wouldn't give it to me, a two inch piece of plastic!!! even for a few quid ? This girl should reconsider her career choice - she's not exactly nailing the whole "caring for people" thing.
Very disappointed with glasses
Very disappointed with glasses. Can actually see tv better without the tv glasses! And not much connection with home visits and the store. One friend of mine was not impressed as one lense bigger than the other. They don’t seem to care anymore, like most things.
What a terrific experience of a home…
What a terrific experience of a home hearing test. Nice to know that a company does not just supply hearing aids for the sake of. Gave me concise advise on next steps as unable to get a conclusive result as sometimes circumstances do not allow them to. Plus the audiologist were amazing, friendly but being professional gentlemen. Thank you.
Audiology misdiagnosed
Had an audiology appointment due to hearing issues. They told me it wasn't hearing issues but an auditory processing disorder, which luckily I knew enough about to know that wasn't the issue. 6 months later and nhs audiologist prescribes hearing aids for my poor hearing and I can hear again!
Could not organise a party in a pub
Could not organise a party in a pub , traveled 20 min for hearing review not for the first time told them I was struggling with wax filters , was told there is a new dome which prevents wax getting in , Great so appointment made 10 days later , another 20 min ( each way ) slight deprecation in right ear. AIDS adjusted
Oh we don’t have those domes in stock
I’ll order you some so another 2 weeks of useless aids sat in the cupboard , and another 40 min trip to collect
Awfull service and will be taking my business elsewhere where
Well I went to pick up my hearing aids…
Well I went to pick up my hearing aids today from Specsavers’s at Upton branch at Sainsbury’s in the Wirral.
I must say I thought the service was top class and the Audiologist Abhishek Mistry was not only knowledgeable he saw me tested my hearing and the aids were ready 2 days later but he was considerate and went over everything thing twice so I understood exactly how to operate and clean and service them.
I was recommended by a friend to go to this branch as he also had top class service having read some of the negative reviews on here all I can say is the audiologist I saw was professional and knowledgeable and Abhishek is a credit to Specsavers thank you.
Ripped off....with a smile…
went in for a free eye-test as am on universal credit, was asked if i wanted the more comprehensive test to check for catteracts at £10 for the OCT scan, ii left the store in Bingham and got home to discover i'd been charged £35!! I really must need glasses as i didn't see that one coming, also i need hearing aides as I certainly thought i heard £10 mentioned twice by other staff, are times so hard for Specsavers that they steal from the disabled?
An update - was called by a Tracey from the above. and told i had been refunded the £25 overcharged,,,,,,only to discover i have been charged a further £25!!!!! seems im not the only one who needs glasses,,,,,,also i can't help but wonder why they keep card details of customers even though it's paid by contactless and all of 38 hours ago.....The saga continues
Why do home visits if you don't like dogs?
I had a home visit from Specsavers two years ago as I now have mobility issues. I bought some spectacles from them even though I didn't really need them. I got a reminder for a test which was supposed to be today. I was told that I would get a phone call on the day and heard nothing from them so rang and was told I would hear an hour before the visit. I have 2 dogs. Surely I can't be their only customer with dog (s). One of the men refused to come in unless I moved them to another room. I don't have another room so they left. If dogs are a problem why not ask when the appointment is made?
Specsavers promise excellent aftercare…
Specsavers promise excellent aftercare service included in the cost of hearing aids. What they don't tell you this does not include earwax removal unless you pay for it.
Someone like myself who has loads of earwax cannot afford to pay the high charge for removal which would be needed at least once every month. My recommendation therefore is simply do not purchase hearing aids from Specsavers if you have earwax issues.
Other companies do include earwax removal in there prices.
Poor aftercare communication
The initial appointment for at home audiology was good because they want to sell hearing aids. The lines of communication for aftercare are poor. You can't speak to the home care team directly when you phone. The call goes to an office where they say they'll 'pass the query on' and I should get a call back 'some time this week'. I phoned on a Monday! The number I had was given to me by the audiologist who visited. He said it would take me straight through to the home care team. He was mistaken!
Seven cancellaions and still not attended
My friend is now 80 and house bound because of a Stroke. Specsavers have canceled seven visitis, each time saying their optician is ill, even though they say they have a number of Opticians who visit. The sevice is a joke.
What you need to know is that they discriminate against disabled people booked an appointment for tomorrow they fall today and told me that because I’m on palliative care with grade 4 brain cancer and
I cannot believe how discriminate Specsavers are no you’ll pay £60 cause you’re in a hospice you’re not in your home you’re disgusting company. I am appalled and I’m gonna take this as far as I can. I cannot believe it for them to suddenly call me back as all my manager said you don’t have to pay it no sorry forget it. I’ll go elsewhere stick your appointment where the Sun don’t shine you disgusting disgusting company
