I’d avoid Special Umbria

I’d avoid Special Umbria. Despite the villa not being perfect on entry (badly dripping shower, taps not working), they are attempting to blame for sheet damage, which we know to have been bad on arrival. I think they’re a bit dishonest.

We rented a home of €5000 were we had…

We rented a home of €5000 were we had no heating for 3 days and no electricity for a whole day. After our stay neither special umbria nor the owner of the home was kind enough to give us an compensation.

We will never book a stay again with special umbria. And we don't recommend it at all!

Avoid Special Umbria Rentals

The house we rented through this company was beautiful and accurately portrayed on the website.
However, the financial aspects of dealing with Special Umbria left me feeling I had had a bad experience with a dodgy hire-car company, of which one reads often.
On paying the initial deposit, we had to point out that charging a surcharge to use a credit card is no longer legal. After departure, I received an email informing me that an inappropriately large sum was being retained from our deposit to pay for 'missing' items, about which we had absolutely no knowledge. At my refusal to take responsibility for these items, though clearly in a weak position as they were holding £500 of ours, I was told that as a company they are 'used to clients not being happy' about the charges applied after departure - a very telling comment!
There did not seem to be any mention of return clients.
