Bought a car from the Havant branch, Richard looked after us well. Very happy with the purchase experience. We did have an issue with the car, we were again looked after by Richard who sorted a court... See more

We bought our Range Rover velar in about 2 hours. The chap who we met, took both my wife and I for a test drive, we were happy with the knowledge the chap had about the car, he didn’t rush us to buy, then we agreed a price for my Mercedes, agreed everything else required and we bought it.
We went back six months later and put the car in for its MOT, everyone was polite and helpful.
Great people
Great people, warm and easy going, felt no pressure.
They tried hard to please us as potential customers and guided us through test drive of our first electric car really well. Jason and Jo made us feel really welcome, thanks guys.
Great Service and Reception Support
Both Reception and Service were very quick to help and then find a solution for the problem, they dealt with the Warranty Company in a most efficient way.

Not such a good experience this time
I have previously been happy to use Sparshatts. The service is usually great and i am generally happy with the pricing. However, this time when I booked, by phone, my car in for work, I was not told of the move to new premises. And I had NOT received a general customer email about it - I have checked throughly. I wasted time and a pre-purchased timed train ticket, which I would have used from the old location. Having had my grumble, I am satisfied with the work that was carried out, even if my plans for the day were spoiled.

Best customer service
We visited the Havant branch of Sparshatts to look at a Tesla Model Y. This was our 4th viewing of a Tesla after having no luck with other dealers for different reasons. The car was brought our for us to view, of which we were left to view the car on our own, no interruption and then I took the car for a test drive. We then discussed the car when I got back. We decided not to purchase at that moment in time. The rep was called Jason, who engaged with us with a genuine calm friendliness (not artificial, over happy approach like most, or uninterested in their job like one other) and provided a proper customer service. We ended up purchasing elsewhere but it is worthy of a review just for providing us withy the best experience out of the several dealerships we visited.

£22.5k Golf GTD: Internal MOT vs. Independent Safety Reality
I am sharing this to warn other buyers: do not rely on verbal promises or "in-house" MOTs from Sparshatts of Swanwick. I paid £22,500 for a Golf GTD sold with a "Full VW Service History" and a "Clean" internal MOT from Dec 2025.
The Reality vs. The Sales Pitch:
Despite being told during the viewing that they "prep their cars to an extremely high standard," an independent inspection performed just days later (with negligible mileage added) revealed:
Structural Safety: Both rear wheels were buckled and one showed signs of being welded to fix previous damage. I was told this was "common"—a staggering claim for a performance car at this price point.
The "Ghost" History: While they advertised a full VW history, I obtained written confirmation from Volkswagen that the car had no record of ever being serviced at any of their dealerships.
MOT Discrepancy: Despite their "Zero Advisory" internal MOT, the car had brakes below manufacturer-recommended thickness (their defense was they were still legal), a broken front undertray, misaligned tracking/headlights, water ingress in the boot and rear light causing a fault, a permanent ECU fault code and constant Travel Assist/SOS faults.
The Dispute:
When challenged, the dealership was evasive. Significantly, they kept all communication to phone calls and refused to put their defense in writing. They point-blank refused to acknowledge the professional third-party safety report unless they inspected it themselves.
It was only after I threatened formal legal action under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and presented the written proof from VW that they finally engaged. Even then, they only accepted the rejection based on the missing history—continuing to ignore the safety findings. To ensure a prompt refund and collection, I even had to waive a £507 garage invoice for the inspection as a "reciprocal gesture of goodwill."
The Resolution:
Once they realized I was prepared to take the matter further, they collected the car and issued a full refund. While I am relieved to have my money back, it does not erase the 10 days of extreme stress caused by being sold a vehicle that was fundamentally misrepresented and unfit for the road.
Verdict: If a car passes an internal MOT with no advisories but has buckled wheels and thin brakes, their "high standards" are questionable. Get an independent inspection before you sign anything.
Excellent, friendly, skilled and honest
The guys in service workshop are all knowledgeable, straight talking, friendly and honest with their findings. Twice needed their expertise within a month and both times sorted without drama, and really quick too. No hesitation in recommending Sparshotts Service centre /workshops for any mechanical investigation and repair.
No hard sell nor gimmicks
No hard sell nor gimmicks, just strait forward and honest. The car was presented well and has performed well since ownership.
Initially thought the folding mirrors did not work but later found it did not have them, typical German cars :-)
Very strait forward and helpful, thanks

I turned up a week early for my appointment but the man behind the counter said not to worry they would fit me in. Which they did and my service was completed by lunchtime! Great service.
