Please stay away from Soundcloud!
I registered and paid for Artist Pro. The first (new) song I wanted to distribute (without any info) was accepted without any problems. Then I did the same with two songs that I recorded years ago and had submitted even then to Sabam for protection. I added the proof from Sabam, as well as the email with the singer's permission and her contact details, noting that those two songs had been on Soundcloud for years (8 and 3 years)! One of them was even the original, sung by me at the time. It took me hours to prove everything again and again in every possible way.
In the meantime, both songs had already been rejected six times because they were considered AI, and I was asked for permission from the performer, a beat license(?), any sample license(?), proof of ownership... There is not a single note of AI in those songs. I only changed the sound using MIDI. I made everything myself before the existence of AI. Time and again, I sent all the information I could in pdf, only to receive a rejection with the same unjustified demands. It seems that my explanations and evidence are not even being read, and I keep getting the same automatic responses.
I also had the robot (which doesn't understand a thing) create a ticket several times, but this only resulted in virtually the same emails. No human contact whatsoever!
Very frustrating, infuriating, and scandalous, actually, and money for nothing!

Works great from the listener point of view. Once discovering new music from indie makers, try to support them with getting their things and what not. Hope indie artists get paid from the streaming service.
Steer clear of anything SoundCloud Artist or Distribution related....
Too bad I cannot give 0 stars... Distribution keeps rejecting a song I have all of the rights too, since its 100% produced by me. Takes 3 days before they reject you for a generic reason. Artist Pro functions like amplify are spent and not used. Contacting the help center is easy, but they simple never respond. Switched to DistroKid and had the same song published within 12 hours on most major platforms. Steer clear of anything SoundCloud related....
Corrupt Pigs!
I got mass reported from their system for something that I didn't do and they said that it happened in 2021. I remember I was protecting myself from multiple trolls from the many commentary fields of a podcast that decided to attack me all at once, yet they never specify what I said, and the audios that happened on hasn't been public in years, so soundcloud are cowards!

Within 24 hours of signing up I was bombarded with credit offers, indicating that my personal information was hacked. I have deleted my account and placed fraud reports with the credit bureaus.
Ads more than spotify
They have become worst than spotify with the amount of ads they bomb u with
i need a license for my own music I make?
I just don't understand how after putting in my tax information etc and putting things into monetization or distribution I have to somehow prove that I am the owner of my own music with a licence? how does one procure a license for ones own content that they make? I don't think a whole lot of people use sound cloud anymore the only follower I got as a guy in middle east trying to sell me is graphic arts skills, so i'll be deleting my account today.

Paid for a month and was going yo cancel anyway, they cioprighted my own song didn't want to give a refund and said to cancal, so i cancel and was paid up for the month but they deciced to go againt their own terms of service and unmmonitze my trscks and take them down even through i paid and still had 30 days after, so now i should og=f been paid out since my earnimg were over 25 doallas and my membership was still cuuren but yet they kept my money, stay away from them. Update: I was paid my money after several e-mails, still STAY AWAY.
The AI generated tickets are all scams
The AI generated tickets are all scams. No one will get back at you, and they keep rejecting monetization seemingly at random. Everything seems to be AI generated, which is ugly and stupid.
I’ve been using SoundCloud for years
I’ve been using SoundCloud for years, it was great at first but now it’s not working for me. Their support is awful, I’ve been waiting over a month about a ticket I sent and still nothing. Their for artists page is not working properly, my releases disappeared on most of the social sites, my monetized songs stopped being monetized like all of them for some reason, their price jumped double for some reason, the new option for boosting a song to get listens I was using I get 200-300 people who listen and none liked or commented on all of my 20 new songs, almost gave up making new music because of that, I wanted to switch to a different distributor but can’t do that because they aren’t answering my tickets to remove my releases, it’s pure trash website
Don't waste subscription money on this…
Don't waste subscription money on this shower, a total waste of money but that seems to be a common theme in all the "streamers" nowadays don't it? What a world of deceptive crap!!! ;)
Absolutely a scam
Absolutely a scam! I bought the Artist Pro membership but they don’t share original songs as remixes. I sent them an email asking which song it resembles or whose song it is, but I never received a reply. Don’t waste your money, and on top of that, they haven’t paid me for months!
i accidentally deleted my soundcloud…
i accidentally deleted my soundcloud account so i treid to make another but it said we think you are a robot so i went to the help page, it said turn off vpn and adblocker, had done both of those and if that didnt work then use a different browser, went n firfox and it said the same thing. it also said clear cookies and cache which i did and still nothing worked. your bots think we are bots because they are bots. Honestly, just use spotify instead.
No support at all for artist pro.
No support at all. Subscribed to artist pro, paid the fees and submitted album for distribution to all major platforms. 3 week now showing as draft. Submitted multiple tickets. No response at all. Support simply does not exist except from the Ai powered chat. Regret I have started with them.
I am a subscriber to artist pro
I am a subscriber to artist pro, although I have just cancelled and am planning to remove myself and my music from the platform entirely.
Priority support is promised as part of subscription, I'm not sure there is any support at SoundCloud, let alone special priority support. The chances of them responding is very low, and when they do it is just a blunt one liner which doesn't even help!
The pro algorithm hasn't been working for me and it seems as though I am shadow banned? Support on the issue non existent.
Distribution doesn't really work, they request documents, but WHAT DOCUMENTS? I JUST EXPORTED THE AUDIO FROM DAW, WHAT DOCUMENTS????????? Support, oh no, definitely not.
These issue have retarded my growth as an artist and caused me mental distress. Even worse is I am paying for these services?
Goodbye SoundCloud
Distribution Steals Money
SoundCloud’s distribution tool is a nightmare for artists. They removed two of my tracks with the false claim of “artificial plays,” even though we proved 100% that this was impossible (my tracks only had 5–10 plays a month). On top of that, the distribution process causes massive delays and losses: tracks get rejected over and over with random reasons, and only after resubmitting many times are they suddenly accepted.
I even recorded a video showing how I submitted over 30 distribution requests correctly — marked as non-explicit with the right language — but the system changed my inputs after submission, leading to rejection. The same happens with artworks, often rejected for nonsensical reasons like “wrong text,” even when everything is correct.
Support is just as bad: I was ignored for months, often had to write 10+ times before receiving a lazy, unacceptable response, and then was ignored again mid-conversation. Issues never get solved. Overall, the service feels manipulative, unreliable, and completely disrespectful to independent artists.
really would’ve expected better
have a problem with distribution that I’ve been trying to solve with SoundCloud support. Average response time is 1,5 - 2 weeks and I receive a single response for each three emails I send. Horrible.
Edit: after two months of back and forth with this BS i now finally give up. Am I paying 100€/month to be able to upload more than 3h on my profile and that’s it?
What exactly is “Pro” about waiting 3 months for a single reply on such a stupid issue only for your “review team” to keep giving me the same copy-paste response no matter what “license” I upload?
And how do you want me to “prove” that I have the artist’s permission to distribute, when I am the artist myself?
Unfair rejections of royalties
While Soundcloud has a large following, they refuse many if not most, songs for monetization. Our studio-produced vocal EDM songs with the artist name ROUNDROCK were all rejected for royalties because of the alleged use of AI, though our sound engineer and producer submitted declarations under oath that no AI was used. Not recommended !
Could be better
Could be better, they removed my tracks from 2008, lost forever, pretty bad for what was suppose to be cloud storage.
Too many ads
One full minute unskipable ads on a platform where people want to hear music? That’s ridiculous. And they are getting more and more frequent. I understand the platform needs funding to exist and that includes ads, but there is a way to do it without making the users frustrated about using it. It used to be a good platform for free music but when its forcing you to pay because the ads are too frequent, now they have competition with bigger and more popular music platforms.
