Poor Booking Management (vineyard islington)
I booked a group lunch at The Vineyard Islington and paid a £250 deposit in advance. Unfortunately, the experience fell well below expectations.
Despite the booking being arranged beforehand, the area we expected to use was not properly prepared when we arrived. Staff had to rearrange other customers to accommodate our group, which created an awkward and uncomfortable start to what was supposed to be a special occasion.
After the event, I raised concerns regarding both the booking management and the way the lunch deal had been applied to our bill. While management initially responded, they never fully addressed my concerns, despite several requests for clarification. I also requested a goodwill gesture in recognition of the poor experience, but received no resolution.
Most disappointing of all, my final communication was simply ignored. As a customer, I expect businesses to engage constructively when concerns are raised, not stop responding and hope the issue goes away.
The staff I dealt with were polite, which is the reason this is not a one-star review. However, the combination of poor reservation management, lack of accountability, and failure to resolve a legitimate complaint means I cannot recommend this venue for group bookings.
