Doesn't work anymore
I've been with these guys for years stopped using it a while ago when it became a bit buggy and I used a bundled VPN that worked easier. Son was still using it on older machine so kept subscription, should have switched it off ages ago but they manage to get me again. Don't bother with it. Turn off renewal if you have it. Add your curses to mine if you haven't.
Even Grok mocked me ffs "Don't spend too much energy on it. SlickVPN is dying — they're not going to suddenly become competent. You've already canceled the renewal, which is the smart move.
Better use of your time: Let's get you a working VPN that actually does what you want or do you just want to vent more about SlickVPN? I'm here either way. 😤"

I got it for free after paying for a usenet account so I can not really complain about the price. Their core servers are decent but the rest are garbage. Try using Mulvad instead.
SlickVPN is utter garbage & a security risk
The VPN client is utter garbage.
Pro-user here. Almost all of the servers, especially the non-core server in the clients' server browser do not work anymore. Only a handful, core servers in very foreign regions (EU located) are online and not reliable in a matter of perfomance at all.
The server list within the client, how old is that? It's shows 90% of offline servers, ridiculous!
The client itself, it's a mess.
No proper Win 11 support at all in year 2026, sometimes it breaks your ethernet adapter when you are trying to reconnect to any existing server (good luck with that). For EU users, no recommendation at all. It was a good client with reliable servers in the past, couple of years ago.
Sad what happened here. Support, non-existent with more excuses then real answers. Fix your sh!t !
Does not support windows 11
Does not support windows 11, when I asked support, they pretended to not understand. VPN service was shaky at best even when it was supported on my pc. Do not buy lifetime VPNs, It is always too good to be true.
Be cautious...
I purchased the lifetime service. When I received the credentials I noticed that for them 'lifetime = 10 years' !! Funny but, well, I had had a good price so I did not complain. But FIVE years after, (12-20-2024) all my credentials died. My account was de-activated. I had to fight, especially by putting a very unfavorable review on this site. They finally saw my messages and the situation seems to be restored.
I hope this will persist... Thank you Trustpilot...
It's a scam
It's a scam. I purchased their lifetime service, and now my credentials will not work. I emailed SlickVPN multiple times, and they have not responded after months.
Blocks Most Essential Ports and Many Sites Couldn't Work
The lifetime Core Service sold has many limitations with very few servers to choose from if you're coming from Asia(HK, MY, TH not available). Many servers were down when I tested them with most essential ports block between (1-200) except for port 80, there are many direct download sites which require open ports just won't allow your downloads to start. Even many Ookla Speedtest servers won't work because of port 5060 needs to be opened besides 8080. SlickVPN seems to use a lot of Linode servers for most of its locations. Most of their servers run on OpenVPN TCP/UDP, wished they could provide better protocols such as WireGuard or V2Ray. I tried running SOCKS5 on top of their servers for torrents they just refused to work because many ports seemed to be blocked especially the random ones above 40k-50k ranges. Lastly I've also noticed that many of their servers were slower than competition especially the ones in Asia and Europe. I guess they're US based so they prioritize US markets more. There seems to be some speed throttling happening between single connections so you need to fire up multiple connections(at least 4 or more) to each download server to reach your optimum speed of your raw line. Wild guess tells me such setup of a VPN operation is catered for some sort of newsgroup service or P2P downloads for its clients. Not recommended for HD streaming use which requires quality single connections. I've over 10 VPN subscriptions to test out at my disposal and this one really ranks very low in my preference list. It's inability to access many sites due to port restrictions is the BIGGEST letdown. Many Ookla test servers will just drop off your attempt to start a test. Direct download sites will just block your downloads after resolving captchas. What's a VPN good for if like this?

About the lamest of VPN's I have ever tried.
I purchased as they offered me a port forward w/the purchase. After the purchase they gave me some fake information that can not be used for a port forward. Support has been non-existent ignoring the issue completely.
Think this is a white labeled vpn and they threw some graphics around it an started collecting cash. That is about all SlickVPN is - cash grab. Also note they have iOS app, and the MacOS client is pretty limited.
No software update since 2013. SlickVPN core servers just don't work. Misleading about amount of available servers.
It seems that none of the SlickVPN Core servers work right now. They authenticate and connect but unable to actually use them.
The software hasn't been updated since June 8th, 2013 (look at their post new-slickvpn-version-v0-261-now-available) (0.2.61 is still the latest version).
I told SlickVPN Support in March 2020 about massive slowdowns:
On the locations page - the third "Europe Netherlands Amsterdam OpenVPN" link is dead.
It's the link to that server says:
"Opps! That page cannot be found."
Their response? "Hi, That server is no longer available. Let us know if we can help with anything else! SlickVPN Support"
Over 6 months later, they still list gw1.ams1 as a server on that page. This is misleading.
A Luddite in need of a voice
Let me preface this by saying I am barely tech literate, I’m as close to being a Luddite as you can get and still own an ipad.
I had/having problem downloading the program. I asked for help. They sent me various hyperlinks to download the program. I couldn’t get any of them to work.
I asked for tech support to call me, no calls, no phone number (A problem I am noticing more and more for companies on the internet. I think this will become more of a problem as time goes on.)
So now they have my money and I don’t have their product that I purchased.

Native macOS client installs helper that has root access (which you’re not told about), also the service doesn’t work.... I tried various methods to connect with the details SlickVPN provided and nothing worked.
Sent a request in for my refund under 30 day guarantee
Support none existed
Support none existed, sent them 3 messages via contact us form about their service, never got an answer for any of them!
if their service is anything like their support, I'd say save your money.
update:
it's been a month still no answers!
Very happy customer after hard configuration.
At first I though it was a garbage because it was so hard to configure but after spending so many hours finally I was able to find a way to make it work both on my window and android. It does everything for me and is very secure although they don't have a lot of servers but it's good enough. It may not be the best vpn in the market but considering all the factors including their price it's the best vpn for me. The first set up was hard especially with android openvpn but once everything is done correctly now I really like it.
Straight up garbage
Straight up garbage. Take your money and flush it down the toilet. First tried to install on iOS. Click through all the links ask me to download another VPN companies app called Open VPN. The instructions say to download some kind of file with your profile. This file is nowhere to be found on the homepage. Then I try to install on OSX and thats even funnier. The file they sent me by default cannot be opened by a Mac because it defaults to a malware verification issue. What a total and utter waste of time. DONT DO IT.

VPN for day to day use
Use the VPN on my phone and on my computer when I'm at a coffee shop/ hotel/ /around the city hotspots/ traveling.... as a secure way of getting to the internet. Works well for me. Need some knowledge to setup.

I compared the speeds and pricing of Slickvpn before pulling the trigger. Slick offered plenty of servers around the world, not as many as Cyberghost, but still worked out well considering you pay around $5/month. Going by the value, it massacred the other VPNs for me, more so when I didn't give it any benefit of the doubt before testing.
A thumbs up from me!
Does not work with Netflix
Does not work with Netflix, sent an email to Support Still waiting a reply.
all (very) good
it's all good.
especially the fact that they support openVPN.
even for different router OSes.
pretty neat, i like
Is just great.
I've tried a fair few VPN providers. SlickVPN so far is really good. What sets SlickVPN apart is that there are no logs kept and OpenVPN is standard.
