Skyscanner Enables Fraudsters to Steal People's Money - Avoid Skyscanner at all Costs 🚫

Skyscanner allows fraudsters to operate through its platform.

I have bought TAP flight tickets and have paid €1,198.96 for them, however, the flight company has cancelled my flight on their own discretion and have not refunded me, Travelgenio is the travel agency that I bought the tickets throught Skyscanner's platform, and they are scamming people and it is disgusting to know Skyscanner allow them to do it and do nothing to help their customers to retrieve their money.

I have contacted Skyscanner lots of time and they simply do not care, they do not even bother to email me back anymore to give their stupid excuses.

Note I have bought my flight tickets on 1st November 2019 and I do not accept the pandemic excuse as I have been having problems with these disgusting companies since then.

I have already contacted some journalists and soon you will be reading about Skyscanner practices and partners on the newspapers. Avoid Skyscanner at all costs!

Platform for scam sites

Scam. Tickets shown are fake. Skyscanner has become a portal for scammers to direct you to their websites. Same for momondo.
A shame, it used to be good But not anymore and they know it.

False prices and bad companies presented, never again!

I have used skyscanner mainly to find out the options and booked mainly directly with the airline. Now I booked via Skyscanner and I'm sorry.
First option, the prices where false. Price shown was for indirect flight and direct flight shown was double the price.
Booked an other option, Opodo. Very bad choice. I paid for the ticket but reservation was declined after waiting for 8 hours. By that time other flights where booked full or very expensive.
I think Skyscanner has a responsibility here, don't hide that you are bringing parties together. Parties that are not trustworthy should be thrown out of the damn system. I won't book via Skyscanner again!

Hello Vergnes,

Thank you for sharing your honest opinion although we are really sorry to see that you had a negative experience with one of our partners.

In our experience these cancellations usually come from a travel agent’s inability to fulfil a ticket at their own advertised price – this is caused mainly by the availability of that ticket changing within the time of selecting the ticket and going through the payment process. It can take up to 72 hours (usually 24 hours) for e-tickets to be issued, and unfortunately it can happen (though very rarely) that the availability or price within the pending transaction no longer applies. In such situations, the customers are normally refunded.

If there is any further problem with the refund, please, get back to us through the form below, we will do our best to help you:

SCAMMED By EDWARD ROY!!!!!!’

SCAMMED By EDWARD ROY, please stay wary EVRYONE!!!!!

Hi
Last month I decided to check for flights and used Skyscanner, got an email from EDWARD ROY with a quote for special fares as well as booking details to my chosen destinations, and I called to ask if this was legitimate.
He promised as soon as I pay wil get my reference and further booking details.
Paid for two destinations about £900 and as soon as I did tried to contact n email yet no response, ended up buying another ticket through Emirates. My experience was such a nightmare so please asking Skyscanner to try and get them before they get away doing such and ruining your website. I will be happy to provide all the details necessary so we can help others too.

Hello Farhana,

We're already in contact with you via email but I'm sharing this response here for visibility.

My name is Omari and I'm part of the support team here at Skyscanner. Thank you for getting in touch with us and having read your comments, I'm really sorry you have found yourself in this situation.

I can confirm that we do not have an employee by the name of Edward Roy. It looks like they are using Skyscanner’s name and essentially tricking people into thinking that they work for Skyscanner, which is not the case. Skyscanner is a travel search engine only - we do not take bookings or payments, whereas the person you have spoken to seems to be saying that they are a travel agent.

Would it be possible to let us know more about the details of your experience? Links to any adverts or websites, phone numbers and all the emails you've received from this person so we can pass this on to our legal team? Also it would be very useful to know when you first had contact with them and how you found them to book the flights.

In the meantime I would also contacting your bank to see if they can help. Additionally, I'd suggest contacting the relevant authority for internet fraud to report this fraudulent activity. You can have a look here : http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud

I'm sorry that I don't have more positive news for you, or a solution to the problem. I look forward to hearing from you with any further information that you might be able to provide which would certainly be helpful for us in trying to prevent this kind of illegal activity in future.

Kind regards,

Omari

Tried to book a flight from Heathrow to Malaga one way quoted £124 , pressed confirm and hey presto
the price shot up to £158
I wonder who manipulates these instant price changes ??
I’ve reset all my browser history to trick this dreadful practice.
Shame on you

Dear Kenneth,

Thanks for your feedback. I was sorry to hear you have had this problem with the flight price. It sounds like there was price update on the travel provider's website during the booking process. Flights availability can change rapidly based on the traveller demand. Sadly we have no control over that.

With the regards to your point regarding cookies - because Skyscanner only shows prices on behalf of other providers, we don't set prices ourselves and therefore it's not technically possible for us to adjust prices based on cookies. We've included some more info on the topic here: http://www.skyscanner.net/news/tips/do-cookies-increase-flight-prices/

I hope that helps, and sorry once more you have had this problem, Kenneth!

Kind regards,

Vladimir Skyscanner Support

I booked my tickets for a flight trip…

I booked my tickets for a flight trip through skyscanner: from three booking agencies travelfrom.nl offered the lowest price. While booking however, we had to pay 59 euro's extra for services, or the price would not be guaranteed, supposedly because of currency time delay differences. Eventually I paid more than 100 euro's extra on a 1500 euro total, this was not clear however at the moment of booking.

Never would I have paid the price mentioned at skyscanner.org. Thus: this system is misleading and so is travelfrom.nl and skyscanner for offering these people a platform.

Hi there, thank you for your review and we're sorry to hear you had this experience. As a travel search engine only, we don't set prices ourselves - all of the pricing information you see when searching Skyscanner has been sent through to us by airlines and travel agents to post on their behalf, and we don't have influence over this. That said, price accuracy is very important to us and we'd really like to look into your comments further, and investigate with Travelfrom directly. If you could provide drop us a line and provide us with the details of your booking through the following link, that would much appreciated:

Always the best price

I have used Skyscanner numerous times over the past years and whether for leisure or business, a short weekend or months away, I feel confident that I have always found the cheapest price for my chosen destination. Easy to see at a glance the duration of the flight, departure and transit times. An excellent website for anyone who buys airtickets.
