UPDATE: 1 star to 4… What started out as a “random” charge to my bank account has ultimately tuned into a full refund, which was incredibly shocking to me considering the way this all happened.... See more

I cancelled my subscription and have been being charged still for 6 months even after writing to support. Writing to their support has no response. I have raised several disputes with my bank. These guys are absolute frauds, I can see this is a common complaint. They owe me well over $100usd.

I have been charged twice today $54 in total, no way to contact them! That’s after having signed up for a free trial! It's a complete scam.

Reply from Skillsta
This is a total scam. Very rudimentary information. They also charged me twice (for $59.99 and $89.99) despite my canceling within a couple of hours of starting the "trial."
I don’t know how this developer is allowed to operate given the hundreds of negative reviews across Trustpilot, Reddit threads, Google Play discussions, etc., citing identical “instant-annual-charge” behavior. The developer, Vodelif Limited (Cyprus, HE 413352), masks its ownership through Headway Inc (Tortola, British Virgin Islands), an entity whose other products generate the same complaints. Headway Inc (via Skillsta and its other “products”) has effectively turned Apple’s in-app payments and Instagram’s ad targeting into a joint money-laundering conduit.
Update 1: Skillsta’s “support” (only an email address) told me to seek a refund from Apple, saying they can't do anything because it was done through Apple’s App Store. Apple rejected my refund request likely because they did not want to take responsibility.
Update 2: Further evidence that this is a criminal enterprise. Their “response” to me was saying they can refund me the $89.99 they charged automatically for an annual subscription if I did the following – and this is not a joke:
“Could you please provide your banking details (account number, name, and SWIFT code of the bank) for the refund? Additionally, to comply with the mandatory KYC (Know Your Customer) procedure required by the transacting bank, we kindly request you to provide your full name and registration address (including house number, street name, apartment number, city, state or province, postal code, and country). Please rest assured that this information will be used solely to fulfill the transacting bank's requirements for processing the payment.”
Who in their right mind would provide this information to anyone, much less this money laundering outfit? So they will post here that they offered a refund when they know full well that they did anything but. If this company has conned you, please report them to Apple: reportphishing@apple[dot]com, and
product-security@apple[dot]com.
Update 3: After several exchanges over 10 days, the company agreed to send a refund via PayPal. So keep at it if you find yourself in the same situation.

Downloaded this app and signed up for a free trial. But I was still charged. This is extremely misleading and feels like a deceptive tactic to trick users into paying.
I need a refund and need the developers to take this seriously. Charging users after selecting a free trial is not only unethical, but it also damages trust. Be very careful before downloading this app.
5/7 Update: Haven't got any emails from them
HEADS UP for iOS users who were charged the annual fee ($59.99) and failed to get a refund from Apple or the developers, you can get a prorated refund by downgrading to monthly in App Store if it shows you can (don't switch if it shows nothing about a refund). I managed to get my money back, but still had to pay for one month ($19.99). It's better than nothing (at least got $40 back). I'm still seeing if I can get the full amount back. If you don't want to spend more time on this, you could try my method. DON'T FORGET TO CANCEL the subscription in the App Store after you downgrade your plan.

The app was disappointing and not worth the money. I cancelled my subscription and even got a confirmation, but they still charged me. Support has been unresponsive. Feels like a scam, avoid at all costs.

The advice is good and practical. I wish it were more engaging. Maybe have someone speaking verse just reading texts. I don't see the game aspect of this app yet. I'll review it again after about a week.

So far good content. But also look at the many negative reviews. I wonder how good the cancellation process will work one day.

Signed up for a free 7 day trial and was charged immediately. Asked for a refund from Skillsta and they played the game that I had to go to Apple to ask for a refund, of course Apple denied. This is a scam and now I am out $60…. DO NOT PURCHASE! You have been warned
Update: Below it says Skillsta has sent me a separate message but I have not received anything and still out $60

I had a very disappointing experience with the Skillsta app. I canceled the subscription within the trial period directly through the app, expecting that the cancellation would sync with my Apple account. Unfortunately, it didn’t—and I was charged $89.99 plus taxes for a subscription I explicitly opted out of.
Despite multiple attempts to get this resolved—through Apple’s refund portal and phone support—both parties denied responsibility. Skillsta offers no direct support or refund resolution for this issue, and the integration with Apple’s system seems broken or misleading at best.
This is not the first time I’ve faced such issues with Skillsta. The lack of accountability and transparency is unacceptable, especially when it comes to auto-renewing subscriptions tied to high charges.
I do not recommend this app unless you’re prepared to monitor your subscriptions obsessively and fight for your refunds when things go wrong. If you've had a similar experience, I urge you to report it—it may help prevent others from falling into the same trap.
>> Update: Reply from support team has been nothing but rubbish. There ar bunch of developers who said we know nothing about payments and can't do anything. This trashhy company has no organization or support mechanism. Stay away as much as possible.

Do not even start the trial, or you'll be charged immediately. Even though the app says there is a 7-day trial, it charged me for a yearly subscription for $59.99 right away. Worst app purchase experience I've ever had

I recently subscribed for monthly subscription for $7.95. I don’t know later when I checked my credit card transactions, i’ve seen that i got charged for $14.59, when i emaild about this , they have responded and gave me the refund. This was few weeks ago. But again when i was checking transactions, I’m again charged for $20.39 . Now I don’t know why they charged me. It seems like a scam to me. When i email them again they replied me like this
“Our service cannot charge you for anything you did not agree to. To ensure that the subscription terms are clear, we always mention all details on the payment screen right away, including the price of the plan.
In this case, we've automatically applied a discount to your first payment — it was a trial period for 7.95 USD.
Then, your subscription was set to automatically renew at 20.39 USD at the end of the chosen subscription term”.
I told them to cancel my subscription and i was charged again.

I have unsubscribed twice and received email confirmations, but I just saw another charge on my account.
I did not find the material to be very thought provoking.

The app tricks you into paying for upgrades. Very poor app overall.

Reply from Skillsta
The growth material is well balanced and very helpful! I honestly love it!

Most classes dont exist, despite presenting all the classes and a full offer when selling. Not worth the money for now. They should be clear about the fact that most classes are still on development.

I used this app and it’s rubbish! So I cancelled it after a few days but they have still taken the money from my account. Refusing to refund and all around waste of money.

The App ist fun and has surprisingly good content.

Update:
After I wrote a review here, the support team reached out and refunded the one-month subscription that I was mistakenly kept on, which I appreciate it.

I used this app for a few days and found it disappointing. It’s biased and pushes you to certain pages regardless of your responses. The subscription cancellation process is tricky: I thought I had unsubscribed by providing a reason and closing the tab, but it turns out you also need to write your own explanation and complete a few more steps. If you don’t, you’re not fully unsubscribed and will get charged again. There’s no refund, even if you contact them immediately. Overall, be aware of these issues before subscribing.

Absolute scam. Avoid at all costs, literally. Signed up for a free trial, but without my consent was then being charged on a monthly basis. Did not even realise this at first, as I received no emails confirming this scam subscription and details of scam subscription do not show in your Skillsta account. They then refused to provide a refund, but fortunately my bank kicked them and their transactions into touch, and no doubt added them to a relevant blacklist.

Scam . They double your subscriptions in a very sneaky way . Avoid
