Dear Sam’s Club Customer Service,

Dear Sam’s Club Customer Service,

I am writing to formally report a very disappointing service experience I encountered at your Frederick location store on Friday, April 24, 2026.

During my visit, I purchased an item (Item #561914 – MM Purified Water). After completing my purchase, I was informed by an associate that the employee responsible for assisting customers with loading items into their vehicles was on break, and I would need to wait approximately 30–45 minutes. While this was inconvenient, I agreed to wait.

However, after an hour and a half had passed, no one had come to assist me. I approached staff to inquire about the delay, but no one was able to provide a clear answer or update. I then requested to speak with a manager. A gentleman who identified himself as a manager came over and stated that there were issues with the door normally used to bring out the water.

I suggested using an alternative door to resolve the issue, but his response was dismissive and unprofessional. He told me, “you will carry the water,” in a very rude tone. At that point, after more than two hours of waiting without any resolution or proper assistance, I decided to leave.

I have been a loyal Sam’s Club customer for over 25 years, and I have never experienced such poor service. This situation was frustrating, time-consuming, and completely avoidable with better communication and customer care.

I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately to ensure that other customers do not encounter similar experiences. I would appreciate a response regarding how this issue will be handled.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Your customer for over 25 years.

“Instant savings”

you’re sending out catalogs, people should be able to see actual prices.

Sam’s Club mails these “Instant Savings” books that only show how much money is off, but not what the item actually costs. That makes it almost impossible to plan a shopping trip or budget ahead of time. I shouldn’t have to go into the store, download an app, or log into an account just to figure out if something is within my price range.

From a customer perspective, it feels intentionally vague. Saying “$5 off” means nothing if I don’t know whether the item is $10 or $50 to begin with. It turns what should be a helpful ad into more of a guessing game.

I understand they use a system where discounts are automatically applied at checkout and vary by location or membership, but that doesn’t change the fact that shoppers deserve transparency.

I’ve had 4 Sam’s Club membership cards…

I’ve had 4 Sam’s Club membership cards in the past year. Each card worked once or twice and then would not work when I tried to check out or buy gas. The only solution they offer is another card. Today the card worked at the customer service desk but would not work at the checkout registers. The attendant used their own card so I could get checked out. I’m ready to cancel my membership.

0 score appropriate ... worst experience. Done with Sam's Club

Score of 0 is most appropriate. I can say with absolute and definitive certainty that this customer service experience is the worst I have EVER had.

1- Tried to order tires but I could not get through the online process because the site insisted that it verify the tires would fit on my car. Ok so I guess it must think I am an idiot and cannot research that on my own. BUT THAT was not the biggest issue. I needed to put the make and model of my car , BUT the model "Seltos" was not listed as an option. What the hell!!! Seltos have been sold since 2019, but I guess they have not updated their site in that long.
2- Next I go to the online chat to try to resolve the issue. It was EXCRUCIATING trying to speak with a human. Repeatedly told what the AI agent could do for me. Who the hell cares. Finally I got to a person.
3- Chatting with a live agent you better be damn fast .I mean really fast!!!! As I am writing a response, I am asked if I am still there. Had to be about 30 seconds. The second time I was simply cut off because I guess 30 seconds is too long for them to wait or is it that the agent could only understand 3 or 4 word responses?
4- Next I called the phone number. You will be shocked that I got an AI agent and it took an Act of Congress to get past that. But it gets worse from there.
5- I was sent supposedly to a real person ,but shocker... I have been on hold as I am writing this for 15 minutes.

Good bye Sam's Club!!! Obviously they don't give a crap, so I am not interested in shopping there.

I am writing to express my concern…

I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent transaction where a charge of $11.00 was applied for a $10.01 purchase. This rounding up, resulting in an additional $0.99 charge, has a significant impact on individuals, particularly those managing limited budgets.

It is important to acknowledge that many customers operate with tight financial constraints, and such practices can lead to unexpected account depletion. For instance, in my own case, this additional charge resulted in my account balance reaching $0.00, which is particularly challenging when I am trying to manage essential expenses like fuel for my vehicle.

Considering the volume of transactions your company processes, even a small additional charge per customer can accumulate into substantial profits. For example, if 500 customers experience a similar $0.99 increase, it generates an additional $495.00 in revenue. While I understand the need for profitability, it is crucial to consider the ethical implications of such practices, especially when they disproportionately affect those with fewer financial resources.

I believe it is essential for companies to be transparent about all charges and to obtain explicit consent for any adjustments to the advertised price. This approach fosters trust and ensures that customers are not inadvertently penalized.

No customer service equals no more from me!

So I buy 50-100 lbs of flanked Style or cross-cut beef ribs from Sam's Club every week. Recently they have been cutting their cross-cut beef ribs from the standard 3/8" to 3/4". That's not the thickness typical of the Korean style beef ribs. So I asked the butcher if I ordered 50lbs every week if they could cut it to my 3/8" thickness. He told me they do so well with their current thickness they could NOT work with a longtime customer to turn a dial to make the cut thinner. Soooo, I have stopped buying Sam's Club Beef ribs and have found a butcher who has a prime beef and will cut it to however I choose. I will now never buy from Sam's Club for their beef ribs ever again
I can assure you it will be too little too late when Sam's Club realizes customers like me don't appreciate their anti-customer service antics. My clients loved the new cut I bought from a local butcher so...boom! No more Sam's Club beef orders

Horrible Service

End chats without helping you, refuse to make refunds a simple process, only want to do instore credit when I don't want to use them anymore, poor excuses for cancelling orders randomly, not having products stocked. They are HORRIBLE to deal with.

First of all when I called I was hung up on three times then when I finally got someone, I could not understand a word he said they automatically renewed my card for $110 which I did not approve. I was trying to resolve this matter. I do not want Sam’s card now they say my card expired, but the bank has given them $110. I have no card and I’m out $110. I do not want Sam’s card.

Poor Shipping Quality at Sam's Club

Received an order from Sam's Club that included canned chicken. At least one of the cans were damaged leaking. It had to had been packed damaged as it was put into a Ziplock bag to limit the leakage to the other items in the box. Spent nearly an half hour on the phone to get a replacement. Very disturbing experience.

Very quick delivery on a large tv!

I have been a Sam’s Club member since 2010. Recently I moved and decided to try a club that starts with a B and ends with J’s in addition to keeping my Sam’s membership because I have always had positive experiences. I ordered a new tv from the other club because they had an additional warranty and they were closer to my home so I thought I would get the tv quicker. Long story short, it was a nightmare! Canceling the order took over an hour and a half. I then ordered the same tv from Sam’s at 10 pm. I picked delivery time from 8-10am and at 9:24 my tv was safely delivered on my porch! Not sure what the staff or management were like because everything went smoothly and I didn’t need to contact them. I will be making the extra drive to Sam’s and canceling my other membership.

Not worth the headache and prices. Not cheaper than any other store

Costco is much better about offering organic items and Sams club takes over a week to ship. This day in age, thats too long. They claimed there was delivery to my home, which admittedly is a distance from them, but I only purchased what I did because they said they'd deliver but when I went to pay, then, it tells me, nope. Pick up or ship. I've had a few different issues with misinformation from them. Same with sister store, Walmart.

Sam's Club has moved their customer…

Sam's Club has moved their customer support "off shore" and as a result they are saving a lot of money but no longer have service. The people that you get do Not speak sufficient English to even be able to have a conversation with them

I paid my annual business membership renewal as usual via my bank bill pay service. Several weeks later the payment was returned to the bank with no reason given.

After 4 hours of calls and no results I told the "supervisor" that I would like to speak to the corporate office to get an answer. I actually got a call back and the gentleman was polite, professional and explained that Sam's Club only takes payment via credit/debit, or check or cash "in store". He offered to charge my credit card they have on file. I never gave them a card and always pay cash when at the store. I have no idea how they got the card number. The card they had was closed over 20 years ago.

I told the corporate rep. that I would drive to the store and pay with cash. I told him that I would never give Sam's Club a credit card because of their reputation of overcharging customers. He said he understood and was kind enough to offer and put a $25 credit on my account for my poor service.

I really like the store's prices, and the store, but you have to watch them like a hawk to ensure you don't end up getting a raw deal. Pretty much like you do with ANY retailer these days, on-line or in house. The best way to pay for anything is with cash, your bank's bill pay service or PayPal. If they don't accept one of these then you need to look for a different source.

Was trying to change shipping address…

Was trying to change shipping address or cancel my order, and the chat support agents just kept disconnecting from the chat. The chat would tell me the wait was 10 minutes but then I'd wait half an hour with the time constantly changing from 1 minute to 0min to 5 etc. To ultimately be logged out of the website! I am constantly asked to log back in to the app or website while in customer support. Never got my help either.

Waited all day for a delivery

Waited all day for a delivery that I paid shipping for. The delivery never arrived. I called customer support and was placed on hold for 28 minutes and then hung up on. I tried the customer service chat option in the app. Every time I was "connected with an agent" the chat disconnected. I called customer support again and was told "the store is now closed. There's nothing we can do." I am cancelling my membership tomorrow.

Avoid shopping online with Sam's club

I placed an online order that arrived with several items missing. I attempted to contact customer support multiple times, but each call was disconnected before I could get assistance, so I eventually gave up. Based on this experience, I would not recommend ordering from Sam's Club.
