Falling apart & ignored by customer service team
My boardwalk sandals barely lasted over a year before they started falling apart under normal usage. This is not what I would expect for a premium sandal. I have then been consistently ignored by their customer service team when I complained about this. I have consumer rights in the UK! And I have found their customer service to be appalling. I am so disappointed as I have recommended these sandals to multiple friends, I thought it was an ethical and decent brand. What a shame.
Incorrect address given to DHL and parcel destroyed
I’m really shocked and disappointed by my experience.
I ordered my sandals on 12th July and never received my parcel. I contacted DHL, who informed me that the package was destroyed on 8th August because they were given an incorrect delivery address.
Even worse – DHL confirmed that Sikada (acting on behalf of Salt Water Sandals Europe) gave them permission to destroy the parcel, signed off by someone called “Van der Velden”.
I entered the correct address when I placed my order. There was absolutely no reason why DHL should have received a wrong address from your side.
I tried to contact Salt Water Sandals several times but received no reply. Only after sending messages via Instagram did someone finally respond and send me a follow-up email last week.
All I want is for my sandals to be re-sent to the correct address in France.
I’m travelling to South Africa on the 26th, and I really hope to receive them before then.
I have been wearing Salt Water sandals for 15 years and saved up for this new pair – this experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.
Please resolve this and send my shoes.

I bought a pair of sandals approximately 10 years ago and just had to replace them!
I got confused with the sizing and had to send them back.i received a full refund within a week. I reordered the correct size which arrived the next day. Well done saltwater, be back in 10 years for another pair 😆
Saltwater for walking distances!
Just had a weird experience- that turned out very well! Staying in Spain and a cab left us in an inconvenient spot forcing us to walk 2.5 kms in my saltwater sandals. I feared the worst: chafing, blisters - but no. They got me there painlessly and I was raring to walk! Well done saltwater - what a neat sandal.
Kept sandals- refused refund
They refunded me £7.95 for a £74.95 pair of sandals. No explanation given. I am now having to threat legal action to get refund or replacement. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
Awful returns policy
Ordered a child’s pair of sandals according to their size guide. They arrived, but were too small so ordered the next size up and sent the original ones back. They’ve charged me £3 for a restock fee which goes against consumer rights so will be complaining or taking it further with my bank. If I were to ever buy these again, I’d use a company that stocks them elsewhere.
Disgusting returns policy. No longer loyal customer.
Every year I have have purchased my twins these sandles, this will be the last year unless the returns of their returns changes. This year I purchased the wrong size paid to return them, whilst waiting for my refund I ordered another 2 pairs which I’m keeping. But having invested year on year to this brand having to pay return and then… the tipping point for me is the £3 shelf restocking charge. Extremely disappointed. Shame on you!
Sandals were too wide and long
Sandals were too wide and long. I had to pay £10.00 to return them and they deducted a further £3.00. Completely put me off trying a smaller size. Very poor after sales/return policy. Would not recommend.

The cost of delivery to Greece is quart of the sandals's price. Ridiculous! I really wanted to try their product but 33 euros for delivery is quite a steal.. Absolutely not ordering.

So hard and no support
I was so excited about ordering my first pair of Salties - I bought various colours and sizes to try for an autumn trip to Mexico! I finally settled on a brown boardwalk pair as I have narrow feet and the front buckle made for a perfect fit. No blisters on the first wear, but my feet ached for a week afterwards! The shoes are so flat and there is no padding/support at all. Sadly I won’t be buying any other colours next summer. I’ll stick to my usual choice of Birkenstocks!
Also, beware you must cover the cost of returns, not Salt-Water, which is surprising as they are not cheap sandals!!

Non-existent customer service
Tried to place an order via the EU website and paid with Ideal. Something went wrong with the Ideal payment so my order didn't go through, but the money has left my account. So far waited 10 working days for my contact form to be replied to. All they need to do is inform Mollie, the third-party who receives money on behalf of Ideal, that I should be refunded. God knows when I'm going to get my money back. AVOID.

Cant return my shoes!!
I ordered the sandals but later found sandals i wanted more so i wanted to return them. When i got my phone to get in my account on their website it said that my password was not right. I clicked on change my password but never received an e-mail. Later i clicked on it again and tried to call. It said the number was out of use, both numbers. I then wrote them an e-mail and contacted them on their website but never got an response. I tried to call again and later found a link for returns on their website. I put my order number in and it didnt work!!! Checked my e-mail and order number 10000 times but it was all right. I cant return my shoes please help!
