Rolson Garden Tools

Bought 3 items, Long handled angle blade lawn shears, 550mm handled loppers, secateurs.
The handles on the shears are so flimsy the thing doesn't cut properly and constantly banging knuckles together because they flex so much.
The secateurs broke within about 30 mins of use.
The lopper handles bent after about an hours use.
Dreadful quality.

The soleplate of the No4 plane was not…

What a pity you can't leave a zero-star review.
The soleplate of the No4 plane was not level when checked with a straight edge, nor were the sides of the body at 90 degrees to the soleplate when checked with a set square.
There had been a casting bubble in the soleplate which had been filled in with what appeared to be lead, as I could easily scratch it with my fingernail. The whole plane looked cheaply made.
The blade and cap iron bore deep machining marks. I have no idea if the blade holds an edge or not, as I threw the plane in the bin. The small plane that came with it looked like it fell out of a Christmas cracker.

Useless, avoid this brand!!!

The tools we bought were to be used on our vegetable patch at our workplace. So far, 1 spade, 1 fork and a hand fork, all brand spankingly new, broke....not just broke, the handles of 2 snapped, and the spade bent back on itself.Reported to customer service...with photos...took 2 weeks to reply back. They didnt really care, just told me to speak to the person i bought them off for a refund. I would have though going right to the source would have been better, it wasnt, they didnt care one bit....just fobbed me off. Dont bother with this brand, B&Qs own brand would be a much better option!

Rolson tools a horrifying tale of cheap tat..

I decided to go self employed &start my own multi-trade bulding &engineering firm, and kitted out my whole workshop &van with rolson tools, from poundland for under £50, within a week my only employee had left &returned to Macdonald's citing complaints regarding personal safety, after his company van (a Reliant Robin) bust into flames causing him to roll it multiple times, this was due to faulty rolson electrical chargers attached to the power outlet, im also still in hospital myself following emergency surgery to remove a snapped claw hammer head from my eye socket, so im now bankrupt & also facing corporate manslaughter charges after an entire orphanage was destroyed due to a faulty rolson screwdriver. I will not be buying rolson tools again!

Bloody ridiculous

I bought a claw hammer not so long ago, and first time I really needed the 'claw' side to remove some nails, from a piece of generally soft pine timber, the hammer failed and now is completely bent like a piece of cheese stick.
So, stick it Rolson

Didn't last 5 minutes!

I bought a set of telescopic garden loppers last year from a local Charlie's store, unfortunately after half an hour or so of use, the one handle fell apart. Upon inspecting, I discovered the brittle plastic components inside the extendable handle had worked their way loose which meant you couldn't extend the product for basic pruning tasks. I have in the meantime, managed to assemble it back together after an hour or so tinkering but I've a feeling that on further use, it will fall apart again. I don't think I'll be purchasing further tools from this company & as a result, I bought a better set of loppers as backup for my garden/grounds tasks. Disappointing!!!!!!!

I bought a set of their metric…

I bought a set of their metric combination spanners from either Aldi or Lidl b4 March 2020.
They looked great, that was until I came to use them!!!

I was removing the engine from my lawn mower which was secured by 3 off 13mm nut and bolt combination.
As I needed to both turn the nut and hold the bolt I used an old 1/2" AF Elora combination spanner, both tools were using the open jaws not the ring ends due to space restrictions. The nut was quite tight but I had used penertrating oil to assist, to my horror the Rolson jaw just snapped as if it was made from die cast aluminium! The Elora spanner was fine.

I emailed the company but they have failed to get back to me, even a "no we cannot help" would have been polite!
So I have now read on other reviews this is nothing new, I wish I had checked first.
Don't buy cheap tools, good stuff lasts a lifetime!

Rolson car tyre foot pump rubbish

Rolson car tyre foot pump, total rubbish, never managed to pump up anything because it leaked too much air. Unfortunately it was in a draw too long to take it back. Avoid Rolson tools.Sadly they are made in such a way that makes it impossible to repair.

APALLING ELECTRICAL GOODS THAT CAUGHT FIRE!!!!!!

Bought a Rolson phone charging kit, comprising a universal charger and various connecting leads from the QD stores.
After using the charger 5 times with my iphone 6, the charger emitted a loud "pop", and emitted an acrid black smoke.
Upon opening the charger, I was disturbed to find a melted circuit board and burnt housing.
Luckily I was around when the unit failed as there could have been a fire.

Poor product quality; difficult customer services

I bought a torch and it failed very quickly. They replaced it with a torch they stated was appropriate, and the winding handle failed after a few weeks. Since then, it has proven impossible to make headway to resolve this matter. Currently, I wouldn't buy another Rolson product.
