Terrible Experience – My Money Is Being Held
I transferred money from my Monzo account to Revolut to start using their services for payments. When I tried to send money to a friend, Revolut suddenly blocked the transaction.
I then tried to send my own money back to my Monzo account, but that was blocked as well. Since then, Revolut has been holding my money with no clear explanation.
I contacted support and was kept in a queue for over two hours. No agent responded, and my requests have been ignored. There has been no proper communication or resolution.
At this point, my money is being held, I can’t access it, and I can’t even close my account. It feels like my funds have been taken and I’ve been left with no support.
This has been extremely stressful and disappointing. I would strongly advise others to be careful before trusting Revolut with their money.

Anyone the banks with revoult need to check what they are taking from there accounts and class as spare change. It's scam they took £346 from account classing as spare change, to me 30 40 80 pence it spare change , but they were taking £1 and £2 per transaction, then tried to say started but I didn't was on my account, the said I set it x1 but when I look is from pence to pounds back to pence then pounds again so if O set why does it do this? There liers try to fleece us of money. No wonder they get big bonuses. But I'm not having it so I've gone to my pm and the financial ombudsman. Let's see what they do against these big corporations.

I followed all the terms and conditions of the “Invite a Friend” offer from Revolut. I spent over 150 DKK using my new account, and I invited a friend using my referral link. My friend also completed all the required steps. However, even after everything was done correctly, I did not receive the promised 500 DKK reward.
I tried to find help, but there has been no clear support or resolution. It’s disappointing and makes it hard to trust similar offers in the future. I hope Revolut can look into this and improve their customer service.🙂🙏

Highly fraudulent company .I cannot fathom how they are not up in criminal courts for all the thefts mentioned here.I got 250 euro transferred from Tax rebates.ie .They received the money on my newly set up account only to then tell me my I.d was not sufficient and I could not access my money they then withheld my money and closed the account before I produced additional I.D ,my money is just gone and only bots to answer my many questions .Close these gangsters down immediately. I I would hate to see this happen to an elderly or vulnerable person.I will be taking further actions against this supposed financial company.

Shambolic service from exchange to customer service. Talking to you like your some 1st year high school child.
Not transparent at all. Pull you in with their monthly package offering free money exchange only to find out the rates are well below market rate. Impossible to trade at live rates as the rates do not refresh in real time. Plus sometimes they actually go the opposite way. I watch live rates with a competitor and when the international currency fell in value went back to revolute and was actually offered a worse rate that before. That's not how currency exchange works. If you sell gbp is to Thai baht for 44.5and it falls to 44.3and you want to sell you should receive move than your originally exchange in gbp. Not with revolute it stays the same reporting to financial ombudsman and trading standards. As sold a product with mis representation . Goods must be sold as seen. Whis app is a Hugh con it's a shambolic service. They should be ashamed of them selves. When did finally get an answer from customer service I was spoken to like a child. Been a customer for about 7 years. Out of a sudden they ask for source of wealth and income. I tell them I have XXXXXXX funds and no income for 3 years. Then they block my account. No way to recover. And their answers are the dumbest ever 3rd world support doing copy/paste and having no remote brain capacity to be found at all.
Rarely used it but paid about 25$ every month for 7 years to get such poor 3rd world service from the country showering in poop. Good job Revolut, destroy what you built.

I was scammed sometime ago by someone…
I was scammed sometime ago by someone who opened an account presumably in my name . I have NEVER had an account with them. However, Recently I wanted to have a travel card and saw that Revolut and the Post Office had similar cards . I foolishly chose Revolut who gobbled up my £100 pounds then emailed me saying that the card was declined because I had “multiple” cards.
After several emails where I had to repeat the same answers , they asked for my bank details in order to refund my money. “Progress at last”thought I , only to be emailed by several agents asking me the same questions but no refund .
I am prepared to take this further , and expose them on social media . I see that others on this site have had similar experiences. How is a bank able to get away with such shady practices?

Utter joke
I opened a Revolut Premium account two weeks ago, based on a friend's recommendation, simply to transfer EUR from UK to Germany as the main purpose. Compared to other banks, the to be expected exchange rates are better, and there is no fee. So far so good. Now, the hassle I had to undergo to send (or trying to send) money to Germany is an utter nightmare. Every transfer from my Revolut EUR account to my own EUR account with my correspondence bank in Germany is blocked owing to putative suspicious behaviour. They ask the same questions again and again, you send them additional documents explaining separately the rationale behind the transfer, with passport copies and confidential account statements of respective accounts, you speak to them on a chat, and they simply won't release the funds. It is an infinite loop. After several time-consuming and unnerving attempts to get the money transferred, I decided to shut down the account. In order to do so, I needed to exchange the EUR on my EUR Revolut account back into GBP and then send the GBP amount back to my English bank, from where the funds initially came from. The transaction was blocked due to suspicious behaviour (!). I had to undergo a painful interrogation process again, explaining again and again the rationale behind the transaction. Even the explanation, that you want to clear the account because you want to terminate the account is being challenged. I am in banking myself, and I understand - to a certain extent - their procedures and their alleged claim to work in my best interest. But, this is blown completely out of proportion and they don't seem be willing to cooperate, and/or act in the client's best interest. This is systematic and calculated. Whilst I type this, I receive a message that whilst the GBP transaction is cleared, the funds will only be sent in 3 (three ?!?) hours. Isn't the approach with which the Revolut account is promoted that transfers occur within seconds?! During these 3 hours they send you a reminder every 30 minutes urging you to check your account details again and again and offer the possibility to cancel the transfer. Of course. Money that doesn't leave your account is money they work with for free. Can't wait to have this account terminated as quickly as possible. I am better off making those international transfers with my reputable and experienced house bank. Yes, they charge me much more, but let's consider that smart money for doing business with professionals. Hah, one more. Just trying to close the account. But they won't let you. You need to "close your vaults". But they don't explain how vaults are to be closed. So you can either Google and find the answer (which I did), or you choose to downgrade from Premium to Standard, but it costs you £17.99. But you don't have the money, as you had to clear the accounts first in order to be able to close the account. Another infinite loop......

I am giving this product one star because that's the minimum required to write a review. If you are considering getting a Revolut card, I advise against it. I initially spent £5 to obtain a card, but then it was used by someone I don't know. Although the transactions were declined at first, after I received a new card—because the previous one was compromised—I discovered some declined transactions were completed.
I contacted Revolut for assistance, but they refused to refund me. I've also been charged even when my balance was £0. I recommend avoiding this company altogether, as you may lose money. It’s not a safe account to use.
