Not professional

We ordered a dinning table in the beginning of this year. It arrived damaged, there was some damage to the corner from shipping, but we did not make a fuss about it as is not extremely noticeable.

We ordered a second table - a round bistro table - Slide Design Hopla. The table arrived but it is evident this is not for indoor use, despite the product description on the website. The table stove is light plastic and does not support the tabletop, so is completely unstable and unusable. We contacted Restylit, who are apparently not knowledgeable about what they are saying and they suggested to put some sand or gravel inside of the table stove.. alternatively we could send it back covering 150 eur of shipping fees. after numerous exchanges they suddenly came back saying that if we do not want to put gravel inside, then we need some additional part, which they will deliver free of charge. We received it, the table is still unstable seen that this part weighs a couple of kg, which is still not enough to balance out the heavier tabletop. I sent a video of this to Restylit who have now disappeared and all their phone numbers are apparently not working.

This company is clearly not equipped to do business across borders and is not respecting EU consumer laws. Sadly enforcement is energy consuming, but hopefully this review will help others to find better shops online…

we are very sorry to hear about your bad experience with us and about this mishap with the HOPLA table by SLIDE DESIGN.

We would like to point out that :

- The possibility of return is always possible for defective or non-compliant products, we always provide for the withdrawal without shipping costs  and complete refund
- The product did not appear defective, but simply lacking the ballast which can be purchased separately 
- for this reason we proposed to send the ballast free of charge or if you wanted to return the product the shipping costs would be charged to you as regulated by European law and our terms and conditions

The suggestion to place heavy material inside the table came from the manufacturer Slide Design, in order to make the table stable you either have to place heavy material in the base or use the ballast that can be purchased separately.

We therefore sent the ballast for free, which we were assured by Slide Design would solve the problem.

Apparently, however, even with the ballast it is unstable according to the video you sent us, so the product is indeed defective in some parts, and we will collect and refund it without shipping costs.

I'm sorry if you had to wait two days for the problem to be resolved and to get an answer to your email, we were simply working on your behalf :)
