I was sitting in my home when a man…
I was sitting in my home when a man came to my door asking me if my home was for rent. No I said no I asked him where he saw my home for rent. it was rent.com. I called. I emailed rent.com. When I finally got someone on the phone, he talk so I could understand him, and then he started to talk incoherently. My home is not up for rent andrent.com. Never had my authority to say it was… I would not trust this site. To me it’s a red flag a warning to anyone going to use these people, ultimately it’s up to you. I’m already contacted the police.
This company neglects their tenants
This company neglects their tenants. Maintenance was ignored, hard to get ahold of and absolutely no communication if it’s a weekend. They took an extra months rent out of my deposit after changing the locks with no notice. Long story short, I would never recommend renting from them.

Scammers 150% scammers I don’t even believe that any property you apply for makes its way, they just take your details and they send it on to scammers that want to take you money for services that are not even available in you region. Be aware apply through the company that is offering the property. 1/10 I would give them 0 if I could.
not reliable
The listings don't seem to be vetted enough, and there seems to be quite a bit of scams(seemingly). it would be nice to be add a co-renter that will be able to add to your searches and saved homes
You are advertising for a bad faith…
You are advertising for a bad faith company. Multiple LLCs but Whiteaker Holdings (Lyndsey Whiteaker) does not use good business practice. No concrete property management location ( the ones listed are for other businesses) and a property management company who will not disclose their ne or location. There is no return on the security deposit and she deducts normal wear and tear. You should not advertise for any of her properties until things change.
I fulfilled a 1 year lease 12/1/24-11/30/25 at Timber Ridge Apartments, Hillsboro, MO. Timber Ridge 10x LLC purchased the property 3/2025 for 10.5 million. The notification was a letter taped to my door. No address or individual name for property management company. The address (through web search) was a bogus address listed for another business.
The apartment was deep cleaned and left better than when he moved in (pictures taken). Move out date was Nov 30 2025. The apartment was listed move-in ready Dec 1 2025 without any known issues to the apartment (per Bionca B). The deposit was for $900. Jan 5 2026, no deposit or itemized letter received. When calling the business number publicly listed 636-352-1411, it rings and hangs up. The only other option is through the app folio portal or text message to number 201-419-5340 (also publicly listed). Several attempts to communicate with property management fell on deaf ears. I filed a claim with Missouri Attorney General (MAG) office Jan 15 2026, recieved a letter via email from MAG Jan 16 2026 informing me MAG will send a communication to property management (PM) regarding issue of concern. I recieved a text message Jan 16 2026 from PM that the Deposit was mailed in Dec 2025 to the tenant listed on file. PM stated they will put a stop on the check and issue a new check. I asked for it to be mailed certified mail and PM stated this is not required by law. I informed PM that due to being over 30 days, PM owes twice the amount of security deposit. PM stated I need to prove I didn't receive the original deposit. I stated to PM to prove it was sent/mailed. To note, per Appflolio portal, there is a term of lease form to fill out asking for bank acct number and routing information along with the forwarding address.
PM messaged me stating they are not going back and forth with me on this and asked if I still want my deposit back or if I am refusing return of deposit and if so, their lawyer can deal with me.
I messaged PM to please return the deposit owed and I am not refusing return of deposit.
Also want to add that this PM business deducts normal wear and tear from the deposit (not legal).
This company has multiple LLCs created under Lyndsey Whiteaker (public information) with modification to someone else's name.
I have yet to receive deposit back.
I've been contacted back by what seems to be the 'broker' stating they don't have the apartment I was asking about but several similar but different building
I've been contacting several adds for one bedroom apartments downtown but getting replays from not the building leasing office, and it is three for three as of today, me getting responses from 'brokers' who actually list non existent prices and apartments. This site is a joke and users should have tools to remove adds like the ones I am reporting.
Rent.com is thief, scammer, falsifier
Rent.com is unbelievably BAD! I would give a negative rating if I could.
Rent.com stole my rental posting from my Zillow Rental Manager, lowered my asking monthly rent from $3500 to $2500, and used a fake phone # (646) 637-2500 (at least fake to me) to post my house rental.

Rent.com Absolutely Useless!!
Do NOT use Rent.com, absolutely sucks! Complete waste of time! No matter what city you type in your parameters, no matter what zip code you use, no matter what price, etc, it NEVER brings up accurate results! Just a complete waste of time. They only have lazy, incompetent people that run the site so they will NEVER respond to complaints, and the search results are a waste of tim and money. Now….if you get lucky and it does bring up anything even remotely close to the search you’re shooting for…the places are either way over the budget you have or way under and in the hood. Just avoid this site, it completely sucks! Just a 100% useless site…why do you think they have 1.5% stars out of 5…no magic as to why…they completely suck!
Do DO Not Rent Here- Unhealthy, Unsafe , Overpriced WELCOME TO BED BUGS
Do Not Rent Here – Unhealthy, Unsafe, and Overpriced
I moved into a 1-bedroom apartment at Wissahickon Park PA LLC (757 Main Street, Lansdale, PA) on March 13, and it’s been one of the worst living experiences I’ve ever had.
When I moved in, the apartment was completely filthy. The toilet didn’t flush properly, and worse — it had no water in the basin, making it impossible to use. I was forced to leave the apartment just to use a bathroom elsewhere. The bathtub was clogged, and the exhaust fan in the bathroom was extremely loud and full of dust. I complained, and maintenance came but only sprayed WD-40 to stop the noise — a fire hazard, especially since the fan is from 1967 and hasn’t been updated.
The apartment was full of old, worn-out cabinets and faucets, and nothing has been modernized — yet the rent is high for what you get.
On March 26, I had to go to urgent care for bites, likely from bed bugs. I filed a complaint, and someone came, but instead of treating the unit, they asked me to catch one of the bugs. On May 31, the bites came back, and again I reported it. Nothing was done. On June 15, I had to go back to urgent care, covered in bites.
I also dealt with constant banging noise from the heater in March, which made it nearly impossible to sleep. It was only turned off on April 1. I requested a rent reduction due to all the problems — no response from management.
This place is unsafe, unsanitary, and overpriced. Management only cares about collecting rent, not about the health or safety of tenants. I have photo evidence of everything. Avoid this place at all costs.

Rent.com is a scram
this a fraudulent company. sell your details, ask for money for things that are free with other sites. do not return/answer emails. can not delete the app or any details. no wonder I getting scam emails from other questionable companies
Oak Court Apartments
Oak Court Apartments are very nice. Management is friendly, neighborhood is great! Very friendly. Would recommend.
Extremely bad experience with rent.com
I got scammed for a huge sum, including a security deposit and the first month's rent while renting an apartment using rent.com. They do not even take responsibility for the scam. Never trust this website.
Absolute junk
So far, the website has been full of nothing but fraudulent rental scams, what the actual hell!?!?! If I wasn't intelligent I would've been ripped off by scammers by now. Get that shit off the Internet
I HATE Rent.com
I HATE Rent.com. I put in search request for Alameda, CA, dog friendly. I get OAKLAND, NO PETS!!!! SCREW Rent.com. It sucks!
This website needs to be shut down
This website needs to be shut down! They had a property 9n their website and the real estate agent never called me or responded to my property inquiry. Instead they proceeded to sell my information to scammers. I an going to contact a lawyer. That is against the law!!
Horrible company that posts FRAUDULENT…
Horrible company that posts FRAUDULENT postings and then refuses to take them down when they know they are FRAuDULENT. DO NOT USE!!! They do nothing to prevent fraud!!
Just a waist of time , filling out the information, and no response …
Filled out information for Hill Crest Appointments. They never responded. I asked in the email. If it was a 55 and over building. It sure looks like one. I need a regular complex for my Son And myself. So sence Hill crest couldn’t respond you are just as bad as they are. Will never recommend your site. Nothing but False hope.
Site sends leads to other property owners!
Created a listing on this service and paid for the premium options. Days later there were no leads. So I went to my own listing and created two leads and I was promptly contacted by two other landlords, not in my area, thanking me for my interest in their properties and asking for my info. I opened a support case describing my issue and got a copy of their no refund policy and an indication that they’ve closed the case with no action taken. I’ve called the number which left me in a voicemail and, you guessed it, zero response. How am I supposed to get leads when my listing refers to some other property? Bad service with blatant disregard for the paying customer.
