Extremely Expensive Service – Total Failure Despite Months of Preparation
I mandated Reloswiss GmbH, a Swiss company based in Gossau (canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland), in April 2025 for an international move from Switzerland to Egypt. This was not a last-minute request. The shipment was delivered in Cairo in early August 2025, meaning the move had been planned and prepared several months in advance.
I want to clarify that this review concerns the Swiss company Reloswiss GmbH based in Gossau. While the company name appears online with numerous positive reviews originating from various U.S. states, these reviews seem to relate to other entities or companies with similar names. This review reflects only my direct experience with the Swiss company that handled my move.
The problems started from day one.
On the scheduled pickup day in Geneva, the team arrived with a delay of approximately five hours, citing traffic congestion. What followed was, in my opinion, entirely unprofessional. There was no proper packing methodology, no systematic numbering of boxes, no clear inventory, and no professional packing standards applied.
I personally had to number the boxes myself and take photographs to document their contents, because this was not done by the movers. Despite these precautions on my side, what eventually arrived in Cairo did not correspond at all to what had left Geneva.
From the moment the shipment reached Cairo, the situation deteriorated further. The local correspondent was entirely ineffective. There was no coordination, no execution, no assistance. I had to personally handle customs clearance, direct payments, administrative procedures, transport, labor, unloading, and final delivery. This was not a door-to-door service; it was complete abandonment.
Due to delays and mismanagement, I was only able to unpack my belongings much later. When I finally did, the situation was alarming. Numerous items were missing. The boxes had clearly been reopened and repacked, and their contents no longer matched how I had originally packed them before shipment.
One concrete example: the glass plate of my microwave disappeared. Anyone who has ever tried to replace a microwave plate knows how specific and difficult this is. In my opinion, the most likely explanation is that it was broken during handling and never replaced or declared. This is only one item among many others that went missing.
The fact that the boxes were reopened and repacked is itself deeply concerning. There was no legitimate reason for this additional handling, which directly resulted in loss and damage.
Following these issues, I engaged legal counsel. I was presented with the option of either accepting a 25% reimbursement of the total cost or pursuing formal legal proceedings. At the same time, I was asked to remove my online reviews. I declined to do so, as my comments reflect my genuine experience. The reimbursement was ultimately paid in order to close the matter.
In my opinion, Reloswiss charges premium prices while delivering an execution that is disorganized, poorly managed, and far below professional standards, particularly through their Cairo partner. I strongly discourage anyone from trusting this company with an international move unless they are prepared to manage everything themselves — and pay twice for it.
