The amalgamation of Redrow with Barratt has been shambolic. If, like me, you had reservered a property in Feb 2026 I hope your customer experience was better. Contracts were breached by Redrow, their legal department delayed the exchange of contracts, kitchen upgrade order was incorrect with wrong handles and worktops being installed. (I genuinely made my choices by what was presented to me by the Sales Team and the Symphony Range)
The base floor has high moisture levels , meaning no flooring can be laid and guarantees honoured until below 3.5 . On completion the levels measured 5.4! Quality of mastic in the en-suite is embarrassing and how that was regarded as a standard of quality finish??? .
My second and last time buying a Redrow Home off plan.

Disorganised, unhelpful, home was rushed and messy, so many snags. Cleaning was poor. No excitement or specialness about it. So disappointed.
UPDATE:
Hi Ros.
I have had a couple of phone calls, but I have still not had any of my snags started or anyone actually help me, so no, not sorted.

Love the house - still settling in and moving between two locations but there’s a smile on my face every time I arrive on the driveway!

We moved into a RedRow house last week. No issues at all, everything is going nicely. They are always here to help with anything.

Just moved in to our new Redrow home & we could not be happier with our choice to move to Harbour Views, the part ex purchasing experience, was as pain free as a house purchase could be, the sales staff were great (Julia, David & Tyler) as were the part ex team (Neil &Dhilu) & now the support team are working to sort the very few snags that we would expect to find in the 1st week of moving into a new house - Thanks Jason & team.
A pair of very happy customers - thanks Redrow ☺️

As a first-time buyer, I've had a genuinely excellent experience purchasing my new home at Temple Woods with Redrow. Allison from the sales team has been especially helpful throughout, always available to answer questions, clear on timelines and next steps, and generally made what could have been a daunting process feel manageable and well supported.
I'm currently in the middle of a purchase, and so far everything has been smooth. Would happily recommend Redrow, and Allison in particular, to anyone considering a new-build home at Temple Woods.

We arrived at Redrow Pilgrims Chase for the appointment time, as we were early we sat in the car, then at the time we did not see anyone so I rang the central office who said the sales person was probably in an appointment. When the sales rep arrived late, she said that she had forgotten that I was coming and was on site with the contractor. Her knowledge of the area lacked as she relied on the computer screen. The house we wanted to view there did not have showroom but there were others for us to look on. The sales rep asked us if we were ok to go by ourselves or she could come. We were puzzled but went by ourselves. Keep saying sales rep as didn't know her name.

Jack and Lucy at the parklands were phenomenal from start to finish. Always available to answer questions and always checking in to make sure we are okay. They are absolutely top drawer. Thank you both so much 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Very helpful reps. Very relatable and gsoh. Found everyone very honest and helpful, which is what you want from sellers.

Stefan in the show house was amazing with us, he was thorough with everything, made us feel comfortable buying a house, we would recommend anyone buying a house from him, it is a shame he is not based at The Grange site permanently.

My wife and I bought a new home from Redrow in January after saving for years to give our family a bigger home. We genuinely believed we were buying our dream house, but unfortunately it quickly turned into a nightmare.
On the day we moved in, the site manager told me he “doesn’t like helping customers” and refused to provide replacement locks, despite the original keys having been lost and labelled. That was the start of what has been an incredibly frustrating experience.
Since moving in, we’ve had an endless list of snagging issues. Every time Redrow sends a tradesperson to fix one problem, we’re either told they won’t do the work or they complete it and create another issue in the process.
Some of the problems we’ve experienced include:
* A kitchen fitter leaving a six-foot scratch across our Amtico flooring.
* A painter pulling a sink off the wall.
* A window having to be replaced because it was the wrong size, then being sealed so badly it has to be done again.
* Carpets being replaced after paint was spilled on them.
* An electric garage door that doesn’t close properly and jolts on the motor, despite being told this is “normal”.
* Roof tiles being knocked off while damaged soffits were being replaced.
* A wall that was so far out of plumb it had to be re-plastered.
* Ceilings that were uneven and also required re-plastering.
* A faulty electric vehicle charger from the day we moved in, which took months of arguing before it was finally repaired.
* External door handles that were fitted incorrectly, resulting in replacement doors being required.
* Kitchen units that were installed out of plumb.
Six months after moving in, we’re still having to chase and argue with Redrow to get problems resolved. Many of the original snags remain outstanding, and repairs often seem to create further issues. For a brand-new home, this level of workmanship and customer service is simply not acceptable.
Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend considering other house builders before choosing Redrow. What should have been one of the happiest times for our family has instead been months of stress, disruption and frustration.
A very disappointed and stressed father of three

Buying a house from Jackie at Hackwood Grange was really made quite simple, an impromptu trip out to the sales office one Saturday afternoon led to a reservation on the Sunday!
This process has too many moving parts to ever be perfect, however communication and honesty can always be there which I always had with Jackie, and I was always given the feeling that she cared about the house i was buying and making it special for me too.
When Jackie wasn’t available things would often get picked up centrally by Ellie who was also a big help throughout so credit to her also.
4 months on and i’ve moved in and overall a very positive experience, the snags are minimal and all very easily fixable.
Working in sales my whole life, I would say 20% of the process is product and 80% is the people who make it come to life, Jackie never put any pressure on in any situation but also had the answers and knowledge that left you feeling like the choices you've made were informative and well researched even in areas outside of your own expertise.
She always gave me plenty of time to make choices surrounding options. the guys even helping to change the flooring later down the process and making that happen for me.
As my own house is one of the final two plots to complete Hackwood, I will say for anyone looking to purchase a home from the Radbourne estate, ask for Jackie you’ll be in good hands.
Special mention also to Andy who has been good to deal with on site also, always there to answer any questions, especially on moving day.

The Sales office at Ash Holt were exemplary, in particular Sam who always made sure we were kept informed and became essentially a project manager to facilitate our move. Sam always kept a professional manner even when faced with managing multiple completions in quick succession, visiting us a couple of days after moving in to check in on how we were doing, and raising a few last touches with the site team for us. We also cannot thank Sarah enough who negotiated our offer and made some outstanding kitchen choices in the home we reserved.
It was a long process for us as the housing market where we were living was incredibly competitive, when the opportunity to turn a withdrawn offer into a part exchange deal came about, the Sales office really pulled out all the stops and made the move into our dream home possible for us.
We love our new home, we had a couple of snags which were resolved in less than 24 hours, the site team here are incredibly friendly and professional and always more than happy to help. Despite us being in the middle of the active part of the development, the area is incredibly quiet and private. We can confidently recommend Ash Holt as a development well worth choosing for future home buyers.

One-Week Review After Moving Into Our Redrow Home
Redrow asked for a review after one week of moving in, so this is an honest account of our experience so far and our thoughts on the house. This review may change over time depending on how the outstanding issues are addressed.
Initial Appointments and Reservation
We booked an appointment for a Sunday, but when we arrived we were greeted by a different colleague from the person the appointment had been booked with. They had limited knowledge of the development and could not provide much information. Our previous house had already been sold but the house we were buying had fallen through, and we needed to make a decision within seven days. That same week, the whole Redrow team went on a training course, so we received information sporadically via email and no calls taken for the whole week and felt under pressure without having all the details we needed.
The second appointment, after reservation without the information needed was much better. We made all of our upgrade choices, and the information was explained clearly. This was a very good appointment, although it is how the first appointment should have felt.
Home Demonstration
The walkaround of the house was good. However, the house was still very dirty, although we were still two days away from completion so there was time for it to be cleaned. Part of the kitchen ceiling had been replastered and was still rough, with the finishing work expected to be completed within 48 hours. We were told this was due to cracks caused by movement in the house as a new build.
We later questioned the reason for the ceiling issue by email the day of the demonstration, but 10 days later this has still gone unanswered.
Moving-In Day Cleanliness
On moving day, the house was still not clean. There were footprints across the ground floor and urine on the floor in the top bathroom, which we reported the day after moving in. We were told a cleaning team would be sent out because this was not acceptable, but five days later no cleaning team had arrived. We have since had to clean someone else’s urine from our brand-new house ourselves.
Leak After Moving In
The day after moving in, our daughter used the shower in her en-suite and the kitchen ceiling that had been replastered became soaking wet. We emailed Redrow, who replied that, in their opinion, it was not an emergency. They did provide a number to call if we thought it was urgent and advised us to log the issue on the portal.
A plumber arrived on Monday and said the leak had been resolved, but the kitchen ceiling was soaked again that evening. Builders arrived the next day to dry line the area and discovered that the leak had not been fixed. We now have a hole in the kitchen ceiling and in the middle-floor en-suite, as the investigation found that a nail had gone through the pipework behind the tiles in the en-suite.
Overall Thoughts and Rating
The actual house is very lovely and the build quality seems good. However, we have roughly 50 snags to go through, including the leak, rough paint finishing around sockets, and misaligned doors. The patio doors do not close properly, and neither does the front door and damp found in the loft.
Some of this is normal for a new build, and this is not our first, but how Redrow responds will determine whether the rating goes up or down.
Some parts of our experience have felt like one star, some have felt like four stars, and the actual house, once finished properly, could be a five-star home.
For now, I will start with a three-star rating because of some of the experiences and the leak. However, I am a true believer that no one wakes up intending to make a mistake; it is how we come back from mistakes that matters.
This is a true, honest review.

We purchased a house on a premium Redrow development and as you would expect the sales experience was very good. Thereafter the customer support for any issue and resolving snags has been shocking bordering unprofessional, the reasons for not fixing stuff are unbelievable when there is clearly an issue. I would advise anyone to think twice before buying a house from this company. I certainly will not be and would not recommend to anyone.
