it's not luxury, the battery doesn't last

One of the worst experiences with a luxury brand - at this stage, I really would just like a full refund!
My husband bought me a TOCCATA watch from Dubai Duty free as a present. The watch was purchased on 26-Mar-2023. To my utter surprise it stopped working as of 17-Apr-2024, which was just over a year.
I contacted customer services, and they agreed to replace the battery after a few exchanges of messages.
Now, one would think it should last for another 3 years IF new batteries were provided. But I think I've been fogged off - the watch has
stopped working AGAIN as of 26-Dec-2025, again within 1.5 year.
For a watch that is over £900 this is really disappointing. And the batteries are not the only thing I've had problems with - the fixed strap loop
has come off, and on one occasion the glass face fell off.
These are frankly unacceptable for a brand that considers itself a 'luxury' brand. All I wanted was a simple watch, that works!
And for anyone who is considering a Raymond Weil - even with their 5 decades of watch-making, they have not delivered. So, stay away is my advice.

Really good service

Sent my watch back for warranty repair. Turns out it had no fault. However RW were very good about it, explained the problem, telephoned some advice and sent it back 1st class. I was pleased about this.

Extremely disappointed

My husband passed away suddenly earlier this year. My son wished to wear his watch. The watch was bought for a significant birthday but had stopped working and the catch kept breaking. Customer service at RW were great and sent me a box to return the item to them.Unfortunately I have heard back from them today that the watch cannot be fixed as the parts are discontinued and there is nothing that can be done.
This is extremely upsetting.RW said we could buy a new watch at a discount!!! An expensive watch totally worthless.

Not a quality watch company

In December 1981 my wife bought me a beautiful R.W. dress watch for our first anniversary. It was an expensive luxury for a young newly wed couple. Over the years I proudly wore it when going out somewhere nice, it was special. After 44 years it ceased to work. I sent it to RW for service repair, only to be told that the Quartz movement was discontinued some 30 years ago. It appears that they could only replace the movement and were unable to effect a repair. I must therefor assume that RW are a designer and assembler of watches, Not a watch maker. After making a complaint to RW it was obvious that they were not the Quality watchmakers they purport to be. Real quality companies can service their watches forever, that's what you pay for, Longevity. So, I took the watch to the watch stall at Watford market, and after two weeks was returned to me in full working order, it being repaired by a skilful watch engineer. The likes if which RW do not have. Best advice, buy from areal quality maker and preferably chose a watch with a real movement, not quartz, as these can always be serviced and parts obtained for repair.

Disappointed in Both Build Quality and…

Disappointed in Both Build Quality and After-Sales Service

As a collector with multiple Swiss-made watches, including two Raymond Weils, I’ve experienced a range of product quality and after-sales service across brands. Unfortunately, my experience with the Nabucco model has been disappointing on both counts.

To my surprise, this is the first time I’ve had a watch literally fall apart in my hands—something I’ve never encountered with any other brand in my collection. That alone raised serious concerns about build quality.

The real frustration, however, began with the after-sales service. I received a repair quote in July 2023 for £272. At the time, I chose not to proceed. When I recently decided to move forward, I was shocked to be quoted £520 for the same repair—a 91% increase in just 12 months. The explanation? They hadn’t raised prices in 8 years and had to “catch up.” While I understand price adjustments are sometimes necessary, such a steep and sudden increase feels excessive and unjustified.

To make matters worse, the part needed—a new crown—is only available directly through them, and they do not supply parts to the public. This means I have no alternative but to pay the inflated repair fee if I want the watch restored. Frankly, it feels like being held to ransom.

Considering the relatively modest resale value, questionable build quality, and inflexible servicing policies, I find it difficult to recommend Raymond Weil at this point. There are other Swiss brands offering better long-term value and customer care.

Excellent Customer Support

Excellent Customer Support!

I called up and was politely greeted by Leyton, who was incredibly helpful and sorted out my problem (I needed an extra watch link) quickly and effectively.

I got sent through to the correct department where purchasing the link was easy and convenient due to the great work of Kaz.

Thank You, Leyton and Kaz!

My 1st email to Raymond Weil customer service was on the 10th January 2025. To date I have not received any response, not even a courtesy acknowledgement. So far I have sent 4 further emails requesting a response. Customer service is a disaster & a poor reflection on what they try to protray as a superior quality brand. Not in my books.

Really bad watches and really bad watch company

After purchasing my watch, about 1'000.00, after a few years I had to get the watch glass and battery changed. I was charged close to 500.00 for getting it fixed and then the new battery put in, didn't even last one year!

Terrible customer service, when speaking to them, outrageous prices to get your watches fixed and they will ask me know to place close to 100.00 for another battery! Shamefully!!

All my repairs were done via an authorised Raymond watch dealer too. Avoid purchasing their watches would be my recommendation.

Also dealing with their online customer support was a horrible experience. Their staff were really rude.

Raymond Weil service is terrible.

Raymond Weil customer service is impossible to reach. I have a self winding watch I want to send in for service but cannot get in touch with anyone there. I’ve been calling for two weeks but no one ever answers. I’ve also left several messages and no call back. The watch is decent but I’d never buy the brand again because of the total lack of support. Sooner or later ever watch may need service, good luck with Raymond if you do.

Watch was a present in 2021 since then it has stopped working three times and the repair has now amounted to more than the original cost. I’m so disappointed and feel I’ve been sold a faulty product and stuck with a beautiful watch which has never worked properly and cost me an absolute fortune

Puzzled

Having been given my Raymond Weil watch as an engagement present in the 12 years l,ve had this watch it has never really kept correct time or date. The costs to repair it seem to l think sometimes be made up. I have just today been given it back from the jewellers my wife bought it at and they wanted £240 just to replace the battery ( But they couldn't say for sure it needed a service as that was upto the repairer )

Awful service department

My wife and I have both had good experience of their watches, but we sent them to have new straps fitted (paid in advance) in October 2023. Still waiting February 2024. Sent through a local jeweller who got one back a couple of days ago, but was told the other would be back in 2-3 weeks. They seem unable to cope with the basics.

The quality is awful

The quality is awful , clock face was spinning inside watch to be told that it’s no longer available, what is the point on spending thousands on a so called high quality watch when they clearly aren’t and then they can’t get the bits to fix them ??

Completely unresponsive

Completely unresponsive - first service since using Swico - watch keeps stopping and the bezel no longer has 3 distinct positions. Keep emailing and getting no response. Extremely disappointing.

I recently reached out to Raymond Weil…

I recently reached out to Raymond Weil in the UK as my watch had broken. I sent an email to the customer services department - no response. I sent another email to another customer service department and received a bounceback email that they were "slow due to covid" so obviously years out of date. They didn't answer that email either.

I then found a number to ring and it was not a particularly professional service. Takes weeks to have the watch fixed and was told if it was simply a battery they would provide an estimate to replace - you're going to charge me a few quid on a £750 watch??? So didn't bother.

Would not recommend and would in future think about the customer service departments when buying jewellery.

What's not to like? !!!

What's not to like?!!! For the $375 full-servicing fee (my long-time 'friend' stopped running even w/new battery), I now have a 'new' watch!!! Runs perfectly and looks so fantastic; like the day I bought her 20+ years ago.

I am thrilled & highly recommend RW repair based on my experience.

Disheartening Experience: Raymond Weil's Disappointing Product and Service

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with both the product and service provided by Raymond Weil. While I had held the brand in high regard, recent experiences have left me disheartened.

In anticipation of our wedding, my fiancé and I invested significantly in a pair of Raymond Weil Tacota watches. Regrettably, our excitement has turned to frustration as both watches have failed us. Despite minimal use – a mere three times collectively – and a short period stored safely in a drawer, they ceased functioning upon our attempt to wear them again.

Seeking resolution, I contacted UK after-sales services and was bewildered to be informed of a repair cost of 140 GBP after 2 weeks for a watch still well within its guarantee period, extending until February 2025. Adding to the incredulity, I was told that my purchase wasn't from an official Raymond Weil retailer. This assertion is perplexing, given that both watches were authentic products registered and validated on their website.

I'm left questioning the clarity surrounding authorized retailers in the UK. The distinction between official and non-official sellers remains elusive, with numerous luxury watch retailers and jewelers offering Raymond Weil products. How can consumers ensure they are purchasing from legitimate sources?

In stark contrast, my experience with TISSOT's after-sales service was exceptional. Last year, my TISSOT GMT faced issues, and their support team went above and beyond to rectify the situation. They undertook multiple repairs and eventually replaced the movement, all at no cost to me.

My encounter with Raymond Weil's guarantee service, however, has been nothing short of baffling. The investment I made in their watches was considerable, nearly double the price of a comparable TISSOT model. The lack of support received in return is disheartening.

Regrettably, this experience has led me to conclude that I cannot, in good conscience, consider purchasing another Raymond Weil watch. Furthermore, I feel compelled to share my ordeal with my network, in the hope that others may be spared from a similar ordeal.

Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns. I trust that brands of repute will hold themselves to higher standards, and customer satisfaction will remain a priority.
