Raven Fightwear

I love my raven fightwear gi, mma trunks and rash guard! Raven fightwear is a must! They fit just how you'd like. The colors are popping and even my year old equipment is staying strong after who knows how many washes. 5 stars all day, everyday.

Very frustrated with this company…

Very frustrated with this company because I used their fitting guide and according to the sizing chart the rash guard I ordered should have fit my child but it did not. When trying on the product the tag had come off and they will not accept an Exchange! To be honest the rash guard was quite thin and I felt the quality was not as good as it should have been considering the price.

Can't say enough good things about Raven Fightwear

Can't say enough good things about Raven Fightwear. Rash Guards are top of the line, and their MMA shorts are the most comfortable pair I have EVER had - Great for MMA, as well as just lounging around!

They also have fantastic customer service. They were very helpful in customizing my gear, and were relentless in making sure I got exactly what I wanted. Thanks again!

Nothing was to hard for Raven…

Nothing was to hard for Raven Fightwear. I placed my order with an attachment. It was processed without any fuss, efficiently and issue free. I'll be a regular customer throughout my BJJ journey.

Unprofessional customer service

I ordered a rash guard on the UK site, I waited over a week no dispatch notice. I contacted them and they assured me it would be with me by the end of the week, I got a notification it's in transit in India which was surprising to me.

I chased with their customer service team. 'James' sent me a very unprofessional email back to a standard enquiry on why my parcel is taking weeks to be dispatched from India from the UK site:

'Firstly, we're not a British company, we're Australian it literally says this on the website and it also says we ship from outside the UK. We've literally never claimed to be British. Secondly import fees are not applicable as we are registered for VAT. If you do get hit with them you simply need to let us know and we will get it sorted. In terms of time; It's a courier shipment so It takes a few days. Normally it would ship the next day but we had a covid closure that lasted longer than anticipated. Lastly, the order cannot be refunded as it's in transit. If you required it urgently you should have let us know and we would have recommended you purchase it elsewhere.

Before you go drop a one star review you should check in with the business first. It's entirely unnecessary to take a massive dump on a company before you actually receive the product. Your instant hostility is entirely unreasonable'

I emailed back and was passed onto someone else but they didn't apologise for the email.

Despite the poor communication and the unprofessional response the rash guard is really nice and fits well. I have upgraded my review based on this, not their bad customer service.

Raven Sizing Review

I have several items from Raven Fightwear and they make the best gear. Plus the customer service is awesome...I have ordered several pieces of custom gear.

For reference, I am 5-07 and 70kg (female). I have 4 gis and I wear an A1 top with A1T1 pants (I have longer legs). I found that the white gi pants shrink a tad bit more than blue or black...but that is common for gis. All my Raven gis have held up from abuse from the past two years and are much more durable than tatami ones I have owned. I have 3 pearl weave ones and the headless horseman gi (this has a rashie lining in the top). The gi with a rashie lining is my goto in British winters. I plan on ordering the phoenix one soon too 😃

For the plain fight shorts, I typically order a 32 men's (I wear a 12 UK women's). The fight shorts are a tad bit tighter in the thighs compared to their grappling shorts...so if you are between sizes with thicker thighs you might want to size up with the regular fight shorts.

The grappling shorts (unlike the fight shorts) have elastic material on both the outer thigh and inner thigh so the legs are a bit more stretchy- the regular fight shorts have elastic material in the crotch/ inner thigh only. The material of both the regular fight shorts and grappling shorts is thicker than tatami/ scramble...which I like for durability.

Notably, I prefer the regular fight shorts (both plain and with designs). I own 7 shorts and you can not beat their durability for daily rolling. Far superior to Scramble, Tatami, etc.

The shorts have a rubber waist grip which keeps my rashguard tucked in during the toughest rolls.

If you order the shorter version of the Team Raven shorts these have an elastic waistband with no rubber strip and fit a bit different. They are more like the modern grappling shorts (e.g. Progress BJJ, Scramble). So, my suggestion is that you size down if you order this design. I have a 32 (my normal size) and probably could have gone with a 30.

For the rashies, I typically order a men's xs because I have a very small chest with shorter arms/torso. Plus, I prefer for a more fitted rashie.

Stick to your chest measurement specifically on the sizing chart as Raven rashies stretch (80 poly/20 Spandex). To give you an idea, I typically wear a men's small in Scramble/Tatami and men's medium in 93 Brand and the measurements in the shoulders and chest are the same for a short sleeve xs. I prefer men's sizing because I have a small chest with muscular arms.

But, for long sleeve my suggestion is to stick with your normal size (small in my case) for the sleeve length should you need it.

I prefer short sleeves in the summer and Adam has helped me get some long sleeve rashies in short sleeve (just contact customer service). I love the designs and they hold up well too with little piling over time- just keep velco away from your rashies. The rashies also have a rubber grip..which I prefer, but you can order it without.

Overall, Raven has been my goto brand for wrestling, bjj, and MMA gear. The customer service has been amazing and I love that I can request custom items. It takes a few days for items to get to the UK...but trust me it is worth the wait.

This brand is one of the best and I will continue to order from them for years to come...

get it.

I love my rash guard, I've used it for a few months and it's surviving the rolling and washes very well. No fading, no pilling or stretching. I'm 160 cm height and I got the women's size s which fits snugly (the neckline still feels a tiny bit high on me, and there is a little bit of bunching in front of the armpits, nothing too annoying- I put it down to having a short torso. (honestly not gonna find any other brands that fit better)
I've recommended it to my friends and they've all got them now too. If you're considering it- buy it.
