Ultra fast customer service

I didn't buy my bike from Riese & Muller website but I reached out to customer service for help registering my bike on the website and app. They were extremely reactive circling back with me within 2 hours with a solution.

Couldn't be better

I had a problem with renewing the RX service, so emailed. Within a few hours, had a response explaining what to do; still had a problem; instant further response. Friendly, helpful, glorious dash of humour! Great stuff.

issue with RX

I had an issue with the RX on my new Cargo bike from Riese and Muller and contacted customer care. Response was incredibly quick and hands on, they managed to look at my account and solve the issue effectively. Very happy with the assistance received.

Construction or design mistake: unacceptable

At a price of +10.000 euro's I don't accept construction or design mistakes, and no one should. The Riese Muller Load 75 speed pedelec cargo I bought back in 2023 is a great bicycle, but the left pedal has moved closer to the frame, causing it to hit the U-lock key. When I asked my reseller he replied: "nothing can be done about it, except removing the U-lock. It's a known failure with all R&M load 75 bikes" Well, I refuse to be ok with that.

Fast & to the point

Changing my initial registered email to my current one was very efficient while keeping the account security as priority. Their first email indicated that it would take 5 to 10 days but it didn't take more than 2 days.

Contact was quick but the results…

Contact was quick but the results pathetic.
You buy a bike for 7000€ and the company is to cheap to replace a tiny part worth 2,5€.
Shame on you!

I asked about bike dimensions

I asked about bike dimensions (total dimensions) and was directed to some files on your website. After going through multiple documents, I was not able to find the information needed - as in total length, total height and total width. This is important information for the secure storage of your bicycles.

However, our Help Centre contains a detailed manufacturer's declaration in which you will find all the dimensions of our cargo bikes:

The height is not listed as this depends on the individual adjustment of the saddle and handlebars.

Terrible bike

Terrible bike. Awful geometry causes bruising on legs due to rear end of bike jutting out from the side of the seat post hole, and pedal strikes due to bottom bracket being too low, and mismatched hardware that has no chance of achieving maximum speed. No idea why this bike was produced. Paperwork not sent for DVLA registration, took months to sort out, no one seemed to know what they were supposed to be providing. Glad the bike is now sold. I can honestly say, of all the ebikes I've owned, this was by far the worst one.

Edit to add detail: unfortunately their investigation comprised of sending me a big list of reasons why it was all my fault their bike was terrible. Apparently my body is the wrong shape.

Oh dear. These are the actions of a company in the throes of death. Why don't you put the resources you've shovelled into hassling people who leave reviews into actually making sure your products leave the factory in a decent state. 3.7 says it all really.

Second edit: see, they're at it again. It's my fault for perceiving it wrong, it's the dealers fault for not replying. I didn't ask you to conduct an investigation, you've forced it on me. I offered you images so you could see the issues, but you ignored me. You're not interested in doing an investigation, this is damage limitstion. You're making yourselves look absolutely terrible, just stop!

Regarding the geometry of the bike, we simply stated that not every bike is optimal for every person and it is unfortunate that your bike apparently did not suit you.

Incredible, very satisfied.

I needed a replacement fender for my R&M, I contacted them by email and not only did they respond very quickly and well, they sent the part to my home for free. Incredible, very satisfied.

Locked battery will get stolen

I researched ALOT before I bought a Riese and Muller Nevo GT various e-bike. The locked in situ BOSCH battery was stolen when my bike was parked outside. I was surprised to learn after this incident how expensive a replacement battery is and how easy it is to overcome the ABUS battery lock. A child with a simple screwdriver and minimal effort could get the battery out in under 1 minute. This is a design flaw. I contacted R&M and was shut down my customer service. I even gave them a video showing them how easy it was get the locked battery out. I tried contacting the CEO but no response. I was disappointed by the poor customer service of a brand that is highly regarded in the industry so I would advise not to by.

We are very sorry that the battery on your bike has been stolen.

However, as we have already informed you several times in personal dialogue with the Customer Care team lead and after consultation with the development department, the batteries on our bikes are protected with high-quality ABUS locks, as is the case with many other brands.

As there is unfortunately no absolutely secure mechanical theft protection, both Bosch and we offer additional digital solutions (e.g. a motion sensor, soon ‘Bosch Battery Lock’ etc...).

We can assure you that this issue is taken very seriously in our company. However, to be absolutely sure that the battery is not stolen, a certain degree of personal responsibility on the part of the customer (with regard to where the bike is parked, taking the battery with them, etc.) is essential.

Worst bike I ever had

Worst bike I ever had. Purchased Charger4 GT Vario last year and had nothing but problems with the bike. Some issues had to pay to sort out month after purchasing bike. Enviolo hub keeps braking, bad design handlebar stem (flexing), rubbish front fork, useless seat post shock absorber, had defective, crank arms, motor grinding under heavy load during steep climbs. Very heavy and overpriced for what it is. So far I had hub replaced once and crank arms under warranty. They will not do anything about Bosch motor and they will not replace hub again so next hub I will have to buy myself. My old Merida 120 is way nicer and never had any problems with it. I would stick with popular brands.

We regret that you are still so unhappy with your bike.

As we were able to find out, we had already been in contact with your and your dealer last year. At that time, your dealer took a close look at your bike but was unable to recognise any real defects. Nevertheless, he made a complaint about the hub and the crank arms. Both parts were replaced as a precaution.

It is a pity that some components do not suit you, but the suspension (both the suspension fork and the saddle damping), for example, can be adjusted manually. With such a high mileage as yours, it is important that the bike is optimised for you.

We have forwarded your review to your dealer and offered to help if there is anything we can do.

Good build quality and premium components…

Very pleased with my bike after almost 8000 km in 1,5 years. I have only had one issue and it was solved on warranty, with regular maintenance the bike just rolls on all year round, despite snow and ice several months a year here in Northern Europe.

Poor customer service

I purchase a Nevo 3 with Rohloff on March 2nd 2023. The bike was initially superb and I was out most days on it. However, on March 14th 2024 (1 year and 10 days old), it failed with error code 550. I took it back to the R&M dealer who sold me the bike for a warranty repair and, six weeks later, it is still there. Dealer has apparently struggled with parts from Germany ( wrong parts x3 times) and I have lost confidence with both R&M and the dealer to repair my e-bike. I’m beyond annoyed and no longer a happy customer.
Update 11th April. I now have a loan bike to keep me active but still without my own R&M. Now into the 9th week and still not resolved

Load 60 and Packster 70 from Germany to NJ

While staying with my daughter in Germany I rode her Load 60 and Packster 70 cargo bikes. I was surprised at how comfortable and fun they were to ride! They were easy to navigate in traffic...I'm 65 years old and thought it was going to be difficult to handle, but I was amazed at how fun and safe the ride always was. I would love to have one here at home on NJ's east coast.

Low quality of different parts

I am very disappointed by the low quality of the parts. Bike is not even 2 years old, paint is peeling off, the saddle is getting loose, brake discs were corroded after only 2 months of use, and now in the last 3 months, I had to change a gear (belt just dropped off), one of the acceleration cables and one week later, the whole acceleration system needed to be changed.
