We took Shaka on a mini road trip around Cornwall and had an absolute blast. It was myself (Lauren), my partner Brad and our two doggos (Cooper the chow chow & Reginald the sausage dog) - and honestly, it couldn’t have been a better setup.
The stained glass doors are next level. Total head-turners. So many people stopped to ask about them and take photos - we felt like celebs! It’s beautiful, and knowing it was a labour of love from Guy (the awesome owner) made it even more special.
Inside, the van has everything you could possibly need. Guy’s really thought it through - loads of space, super practical and the sound system is MEGA. You can tell a lot of love and effort went into getting it just right.
All in all, it’s easily the quirkiest camper we’ve ever stayed in and we’d 100% book it again. Big thanks to Guy for creating such a beautiful home on wheels, and to Quirky Campers for a seamless booking setup.
Until next time,
Lauren, Brad, Cooper & Reginald x
I had a wonderful three-night stay in Maggie — it was absolutely lovely, cozy, comfortable, and just divine. A perfect little retreat! I spent my days exploring the beautiful East Devon coast, and it was such a joy to return each evening to this peaceful and well-equipped haven. Isaac and Camelot were incredibly kind, generous, and welcoming, which made the experience even more special. Thank you so much for a truly memorable stay — I hope to return.. thank you so much.. 🤩
This was the first time I had ever driven a campervan and the first time my lovely but lively dog has been on holiday, so this trip was a bit of a personal challenge! We booked Grey Goose through Quirky Campers who made the process of booking and insurance simple.
The owner Jo gave me a good overview of the equipment and driving the vehicle, before we set off. Grey Goose was really easy to drive which calmed any initial fears! Of course, half of the instructions were forgotten by the time we got there but a couple of e-mails quickly sorted that out ... thanks Jo!
Our trip went brilliantly helped along by the wonderful weather, the extensive equipment on the campervan and the best nights of sleep we have had in a very long time!
I'm definitely a convert to campervanning and will be doing it again as soon as possible!
I have just had the perfect wild camp holiday with Splinter, very cosy at night with wood burning stove and beautiful interior. Every detail has been lovingly crafted and the van is designed for comfort and ease. I changed my plans after a few days on a hill on the edge of Exmoor national park, and extended the wild camp stay instead of a campsite. Splinter is so well equipped that my woodland ‘home’ suited the holiday more than a trad campsite. Valentine Bryant and Sophie could not have been more helpful, they did thorough handovers and were kindly professional. This was my first time driving a vehicle other than a car, Splinter was a joy and I felt safe and confident in the van’s capabilities. This van is built to an exceptional standard, and was such an enjoyable experience. Unforgettable.
Hired Flossie for a taste of campervan life and the whole experience was great.
Website and email updates and instructional videos were reassuring. Description of the vehicle was accurate and owners were incredibly helpful!
Opening the doors to the beautiful backdrop of Kielder Forest was lush and the van performed in every way.
Truly humbling experience x
Maggie is a Gorgeous campervan. Spotlessly clean and all equipment in very good condition and working order. everything was a very high standard.
The potbelly stove was a real bonus as the temperature went down to 5 on one night so it was most appreciated and warmed us up a treat.
We had everything that we needed and everything worked perfectly.
The owners went above and beyond when we accidentally locked the keys in camper van! Our fault entirely! They came to our rescue and did not hesitate to help, which was so much appreciated.
Would be very happy to hire this camper again.
Had a great time in Tyson. Very comfortable van with some nice touches and very easy pick up and drop off. Marrick and Laura were lovely and very easy to communicate with.
Absolutely brilliant, competitive pricing, great communication and easy to book.
What a week we had in Cali! Pick up/drop off was really easy and the explanation videos we received before going were amazing and very useful to refer back to when we were away. Cali had everything we needed which takes off the pressure when packing, and was absolutely gorgeous inside.
The bed was so comfy and it made our trip being open to open the back doors whilst in bed and look at the mountains (travelled through Snowdonia).
Lovely drive and very efficient with fuel, we didn’t spend what we had anticipated on that!
We absolutely loved Cali and will be booking her again very soon!
We hired Frida as a bit of an adventure for our family of 5 and felt quite nervous about it at first. We have 5 year old twins and a 3 year old and I was worried about driving the van and how the kids would sleep.
However, we had an absolutely fantastic time in Frida. She is very easy to drive (I hadn't driven a manual for 5 years and found it no trouble) and the triple bunk beds were such cosy little dens that the girls slept absolutely fine. Our bed was also really comfy and long enough for my 6ft 3 husband to sleep in.
We couldn't believe how much storage Frida has. We did need to make sure everything had a proper place and it took a bit of practise to make sure we put everything back in the right order (for example making sure anything in the under seat storage will not be needed in the night or first thing in the morning) but once we got the hang of this it was fine.
The kitchen is well equipped for tasty meals and there are so many great little details that make life easier- like the draw storage for clothes that you can bring into the house and pack, and the sunken door mat that you can remove and shake out. Another thing we noticed is that the wooden interior in Frida smells amazing and makes the whole campervan feel a bit like sleeping in a (cosy) forest.
We loved our time in Frida so much that although we only planned to go out in her for 3 nights and then keep her at home one night we actually ended up booking another campsite for the last night.
If you have a family of 3 kids and you are hesitating I would say definitely go for Frida you won't regret it. We want our own now but in the meantime will be hiring Frida again.
The quirky campers website itself is easy to navigate and the team were speedy in responding to any queries.
What a lovely time I had with Bloom. Super comfy bed, the oven combo was brilliant (I’m going to get one for my van). Log burner was a boon, used it twice, super easy to light, and made the van so cosy. Bloom has everything you could need, super easy to drive, and a lovely owner.
We had the best week in Edina, touring around Dumfries and Galloway. Everything about the process from booking, to communicating with Josh (the owner), to picking the van up and dropping it off was seamless. Edina was the perfect companion on our trip! We were surprised at how comfy the bed is and how easy it was to be in a relatively small space for a whole week. She is cosy and comfy and super easy to live in. We cooked in the van every night (two rings is perfect!) and we wild camped for most of the week, only staying at a campsite for 2 nights. All in all, it was a fabulous week and we are excited about booking our next campervan adventure.
Had a great time on our first venture into van life. the van was great, had pretty much everything we needed and was really simple to use. Marrick was great in helping us understand how to use the van and communication was spot on. Would definitely hire from them again very soon...
Frida is a dream machine ! we absolutely LOVED everything about her. Not just the fact that she can fit us all in so snuggly , even our teenage kids. The fact they also get their own safe space ( a bunk each) makes all the difference , and keeps the peace. Its not our first rodeo in her, and we fell in love with her all over again. Thank you so much for lending us your incredible creation. xxxx
Lovely van, helpful owners who were friendly and even helped with questions while we were away.
Really easy to use booking, changed my booking easily even though it was user error, my rented campervan was fab with a lovely owner. Recommend
It has been an absolute delight to spend a few days going round various places such as Braemar, Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and Kenmore. It's something that i have always wanted to do and to do it with 'Rhubarb' the campervan has made the process a lot more enjoyable.
On top of that, the owner has been so helpful and kind throughout the whole process, always trying to help out where possible and to ensure that everything is going smoothly. A testament to Quirky Campers.
After deciding to take a road trip to Skye with my 2 kids, I found Quirky Campers which had a fantastic range of cool campervans to choose from with many of them local to me in Edinburgh. The security deposit was reasonable and finding and booking a van for my trip was made super easy with the filter search engine on site. Once I found Juno, I thought it would be the perfect campervan for us. Quirky campers made everything so easy with the least amount of faff. Before the trip began, we even received a thorough video detailing the campervan with an invitation to ask more questions if needed. We will definitely be using the site again for our next adventure.
Disappointed. Been on campervans for sale a long time and every time I message someone no one replies? Are these vans actually for sale or sold? Same has happened with family members and friends?Has this happened to anyone else? Its so annoying...
Booked a van in August for a December trip. The owner of the van cancelled the booking at the end of November as they've decided to go on a break themselves. Customer service tried to help but there's no equivalent available.
We'd taken a chance on Quirky, cancelled hotel bookings that we can't now get back. Completely unreliable service with flakey owners. Buyer beware and have a back up option booked in case.
