Didn't even get a single enquiry for our folding Campervan which we listed.

We received loads of enquiries from just posting in Caravan groups on Facebook. I'd advise that over using Quirky Campers.

Absolutely loved our time in Reggie! He was well equipped, cozy and clean!! We loved our adventure around the NC500. Thank you for allowing us to hire him, we took good care of him!! X

We had a wonderful adventure in Auri & travelled to the Outer Hebrides, stopping off at Troon, Loch Lomond, the Isle of Skye & Isle of Harris & Lewis. Auri had everything we needed and the bed is so comfortable we slept really well every night. We only stayed on one camp site and the rest was wild camping - the Isle of Harris & Lewis was particularly great for wild camping. The scenery, beaches and wild life en route were amazing, with many rainbows on the Isle of Skye. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Auri to anyone looking for comfort and a bit of luxury on their travels. Kelvin and Wee were really helpful - they responded to our questions really quickly and were a pleasure to deal with.

Using Quirky Campers was like having a Fairy Godmother to get you to the ball and sort out any issues.

I purchased a camper which through my own inexperience of campers I paid a fortune for and it is a total white elephant; leaking roof, windows, mould, diesel heater was disconnected, leisure batteries needing replaced etc. The worst part is that QC's really promoted it and clearly the sellers were lying through their teeth knowing full well it was essentially a ripping out job and starting from scratch but pretended nothing was wrong with it and it was in perfect condition. I totally get checking it out was my responsibility and what I got was down to my inexperience and naivety but I still feel like I was kicked in the teeth. I hope karma comes around to both the sellers and QC's at some point for delivering fraudulent ads and vans. So disappointed- and also in myself.

We had an amazing long weekend in Hepzibah (Sandwich, Kent(. It was our first ever campervan experience and it couldn't have gone better. Jackie and Jonathan were very helpful and the van was everything we needed, well equipped, cosy, and with plenty of character, as well as smooth and straightforward to drive. Thanks for everything and we look forward to our next Hepzibah tour.

Perfect introduction to life on the road for first time adventurers.
Dobby proved the ideal companion on our tour of Cornwall and opened the door to completely off grid experiences in the great outdoors.

Angel has everything you could need. Compact yet just right for the narrow roads. We enjoyed our adventure in Angel and would recommend highly. There was everything you could need carefully located but within easy reach. Thank you for allowing us to experience this great camper!

We absolutely loved hiring Wilson for our recent trip to End of the Road festival in Dorset.
Teighan and Jordan were excellent at explaining everything we needed to know. They took the time to go through all the information thoroughly and were also really lovely.
Wilson is a beautiful van. He's been so well designed and has everything you need. It was so convenient to use a camper van and a joy to stay in. He's also super cozy and comfortable. I
have never slept so well at a festival! In
fact, I slept better than I do at home!

I had a great few days in Heather. The van is really comfortable and very well equipped. Everything worked really well and I loved the freedom to travel and stop when we felt like it. Will definitely be booking again. the owners were really responsive and helpful - we changed our dates and they were really flexible.

Wow what an experience! Camper van life is amazing. Especially in Miro. The van had everything we needed including the thoughtful finishing touches - thank you Rachel. The van offered a real off grid experience. We didn’t need electrical hook ups which allowed the optionality of simply turning up to camp sites, getting the best spots with sea views. The instructions given by Rachel and Dan were easy to follow and the manual had everything we needed. Perfect holiday, the best experience, in the best van with lots of room and storage, loved by me, my partner, our 4 year old and dog. Thank you for a wonderful experience Dan and Rachel! Xx

REVIEW BLUBELLE

Second time in hiring Blubelle. Just as much of a pleasure this time around as much as the first. A truly delightful home from home and a joy to drive as well. Blubelle gets lots of admiration from many people and there are always plenty of waves out there on the open highway. The best for me is sitting or lying near that wood burner for when it gets a bit chilly outside. You just cannot beat that cosy feeling! Very good indeed off grid for power and just sheer bliss all around! Looking forward to that next adventure already!!

We had a wonderful stay in Flossie! The camper van was exceptionally easy to use, with state-of-the-art facilities that brought a real touch of luxury to our trip, while still allowing us to enjoy all the fun and freedom of camping in the great outdoors. Everything was thoughtfully designed, making our break both comfortable and memorable.

The owners were fantastic – so friendly, helpful, and supportive throughout our booking, which really added to the whole experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Flossie and already intend to book again for our next adventure!

We book firefly to take to the festival, and have to say it was tye best decision we have ever made, the van was clean and tidy , had pretty much everything we needed with it, including bedding. The bed was so comfy to sleep on , the van was a dream to drive and made for a pleasant drive there and home, it have plenty of space for all our belongings and we were able to cook in the van so made the experience so much more comfortable.
The hire process was a breeze, and everything was explained before you leave making sure we new how it all work. We will definitely be hire again .

We recently hired a campervan for a trip around Scotland, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The van was very well-equipped, clean, and comfortable, making it easy to settle in and feel at home while on the road. It was spacious enough for two adults and one child, and driving it was straightforward and stress-free, which made exploring the beautiful Scottish landscapes a real pleasure.

The owner was brilliant – communication was clear and prompt from start to finish, and they were always available to offer advice and answer any questions. Their support made the whole process smooth, from booking to returning the van. The freedom and flexibility that comes with having a campervan allowed us to visit some incredible places at our own pace, creating memories we’ll never forget.

Overall, we had an amazing trip and would highly recommend this campervan hire to anyone looking to explore Scotland. The combination of a well-equipped van, excellent service, and the freedom to travel at your own pace makes this a 10/10 experience.

I came across Quirky in desperation as 48 hours before I was due to arrive another campervan hire company cancelled my booking. Quirky staff were amazing, getting to work as though it was their holiday, and this was the weekend of Boardmasters! Long story short, they found me Pai - a fab campervan, beautifully and lovingly created by super helpful, friendly and responsive owners. Mattress super-comfortable, well stocked kitchen, constant hot water… we couldn’t have been happier! Only issue to watch out for is the Pai is so cool that other campers kept wanting to come in for a tour!!! Thank you all so much, you’re all worth 10 stars!

We had the absolute best time hiring ‘Space’ from Tom! From start to finish, Tom made the whole process so easy. His communication was brilliant, he was so friendly and lovely to deal with, and all the information he provided was really clear and precise. The info pack was spot on too, which made everything simple and stress free.
As for the van itself, wow! ‘Space’ is amazing. The interior is beautifully designed, really spacious, spotlessly clean, and so cleverly thought out. I went with my mum and our dog Panda, and there was more than enough room for all three of us. The big windows were perfect for taking in the views, and the bed was absolutely huge and super comfy, it honestly felt like we’d checked into a boutique hotel, especially with the thoughtful touch of complimentary little cocktails waiting for us on arrival!
The van had everything we could possibly need, and more. Driving it was a dream too, despite its size, it was surprisingly easy and handled the winding country roads of Devon and Dorset without any trouble at all.
We had such a wonderful time exploring in ‘Space’ my mum, Panda and I all loved every minute and we honestly can’t wait to hire from Tom again soon. Couldn’t recommend him and this campervan enough

Florence is an absolutely amazing camper and her owners Paul and Lisa are absolutely amazing as well. I could not have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend anyone book Florence if they want to be offgrid or on and have all the amenities as well. Having a full oven made a huge difference and having a toilet and shower was so convenient. Florence is a beautiful , capable ,safe easy to drive camper combine that with the ease of communication and clarity of instructions from Paul makes this a win-win situation.
Paul was extremely easy to communicate with and sent over an easy to read , functional set of instructions for Florence prior to my arrival so I felt quite at home and capable of driving Florence straightaway.
I've started making plans to come back to to the UK next year and book Florence again

Before onboarding with Quirky Campers I struggled to find any reviews from owners, so I’m sharing my experience after just over a year with them.

The first red flag came when I phoned for advice about managing the additional income and was told not to worry about tax “unless a brown letter comes through the door”. That attitude set the tone.

Here are some of the experiences I've made with them:

❌ Insurance and customer vetting
Quirky pre-approved a customer even though their licence didn’t meet my insurance terms. The booking had blocked out my van during peak season. When the booking had to be cancelled, I was told to refund the customer in full (even though it was Quirky’s mistake) and if I didn't, then the customer wouldn't receive any money back. After the customer threatened legal action, they refunded him and paid me only £200 of an £800 booking.

❌ Discount codes applied without consent
A customer booked using a 20% “Happy Easter” discount I knew nothing about. Apparently new owners are automatically opted into Quirky’s campaigns and “shouldn’t” turn them off. If Quirky want to offer discounts, they should cover the cost – not owners.

❌ Sharing personal information
Quirky gave my phone number to a stranger who “wanted more info” on my van. This is exactly why I use a platform rather than taking private bookings. The caller wasn’t even eligible under my insurance.

❌ Pressure to reduce prices
I received repeated calls asking me to rent the van at a lower nightly rate than advertised – often last-minute.

❌ Insurance process left to owners
Beyond recommending a provider, Quirky don’t help. The owner has to handle licence checks, proof of address, and back-and-forth with customers – creating delays and frustration.

❌ Poor booking system

- The backend portal is difficult to use and comes with four hours of training videos. As someone who designs digital interfaces for a living – any system requiring that much instruction has a serious usability problem.
- The interface is frustrating to use on mobile, often unusable.
- Booking notifications come from the customer’s personal email, not a Quirky address – so they often land in spam.
- Messages I sent to customers via the portal often never reached them, even after they checked their spam folders.
- I can see full personal details of people who abandon a booking. Why do I need that information – and how is that not a data privacy issue?
- When customers request to book multiple vans, I can see the full details of their enquiry with other owners, including pricing and private messages.

❌ Delayed payments
Payments are only made every other Thursday after the van is returned. If your van is out for 10 days and returns on a Friday, you could wait up to 24 days before being paid.

Final thoughts
Every positive review / experience on the platform is solely down to the owners doing their best. Quirky collects a nice looking selection of hand-built campers, but that’s where the value ends. The process is riddled with flaws and there’s a persistent lack of professionalism.
