I wish I had read this before I spent my money.

I wish I had read this before my experience with this company. Please see below:

1. This company unethically represents itself. For me, it showed a local University as the host of this class. The recruiter led me to believe I was going to a local University. It wasn't until 3/4 of the way through the class and multiple complaints that I realized all the email addresses were for Quickstart. Lied from day one and unethically misrepresented.

2. The "coaches", because they do not have teachers, boasted about themselves. How important he is and who he has worked with and who he works for now—big names like Microsoft. I've never known someone who boasts about their acalaids like this man. There is no way he has ever taught in an academic setting.

3. More on the above....this is presented as a typical academic classroom but there was NO follow-through on that. No syllabus, no class structure, and they refused to address classic disruptions by other students. What do I mean by that?....
Well, we never knew what we were learning as it was presented to us multiple times as "I'm not teaching you what will be on the test, but what you will need in the real world." Great on the real work, but I'm paying you for the exam as the primary goal, and everything else is icing on the cake.
Multiple students were walking over anyone else who was talking, and this was never addressed. It made getting help/attention for confusion very difficult.
One student thought himself a teacher, as he felt he knew more and would teach the class. I didn't pay for a student teacher. This was not addressed either.

4. This was presented as a typical 8 hour school day. We started at 0800-1600. This NEVER actually happened. NOT ONCE! We never stared on time, typically about 5-15 minutes late to the Zoom meeting and then additional 5-15 minutes prior to starting class.
We were to have two 15 minute breaks for AM and PM and then 60 minutes for lunch. On average (and let me tell you, I got to the point where I started a stopwatch and kept track) breaks were 30-40 minutes lunch was 90. What a collosal waste of my time. When I tried to address this, it was met with deaf ears.

5. The learning level of the class was anywhere from extreme beginner to I'd say expert level. We had someone who had never set a password for their computer to extreme gamer. This made learning problematic. The "coach" always taught to the lowest level of our 28 student class.
First 28 students was way too big for this type of learning. If you were not the bottom 5, you rarely got help. If you were the top 5, you got to teach and lead. Not what I paid for. The middle group, well, you were just left to the wolves.

At one point the Assistant Accidemic guy tried to "school" me which was unprofessional. I'm not in my 20's and I have multiple higher education degrees so I understand how higher education should be ran. I have reached the point where I am reporting the school to the Texas Board of Higher Education, the Idaho Board of Higher Education and Idaho State University, the school that was repersented hosting the class.

PLEASE, do your research prior to overpaying for this class.

Do your research

I was introduced to this school thru University of New Mexico . I ask Nick Rockett many times very clearly if the cyber security program was for those who had no skills and were computer iliterate and he told me oh yeah for sure . First week the guy running the class Fahad Yaqoob was constantly late , Our 15 minute breaks were actually 30-40 minutes , our hour lunches were more like 90-120 minutes . I found him to be uncaring and uncompassionate . The quickstart school itself has not contracts !!!!! So when you find out what they are really about you have no recourse . You are constantly waiting in class doing nothing because the guy running the class would not get everyone on the same page to go thru issues all together , it was done one by one . there is no syllabus . You are not graded on anything as you go thru the courses . no way of telling how you are doing . These course are supposed to prep you for an exam and yet no study for the exams are done . The labs glitch out so you can't actually get thru them . I did finally get some money back from them and I reported them to the federal trade commision along with one of the organizations that accredits them Peoplecert and also AXELOS . You can report them to the u.s. district attorney and the schools accrediting agencies . oh and Kris on the review below mine is my friend , we went through the same class . I back everything she says .

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This is a scam! This company is not accredited, nor are they interested in students actually learning. The administrators are VERY slow to respond to an concerns. I have received threats to withhold my certification because I am asking too many questions.

I can not believe there are Universities putting their name on this dog crap course. Save your money! Look up BroCode on youtube, he will teach you more than the class. Visual Studio Code is a free text editor. GutHub is free remote storage site with hosting capabilities. Lastly W3Schools is a fantastic resource for everything webdev, greatly more informative that the 8 hours a day 5 days a week 12k class that this company offers. Please use these free resources prior to wasting you money of this scam. MIT has a similar program for about half the price. I would recommend anything other than signing up for a class hosted by this fraudulent company.

Taff was an amzaing instructor he was very imformative and helpful, he was very good at showing us all the different types of road markings by using cones to show use how to take different types of junctions. When we went on to the road ride he asked if we were comfortable to go out first before we went out and while we were out he was stopping us safely by asking us to pull over the side of the road when its safe to and letting us know on whqt needed improvement and if we did anything wrong and how to rectify it. I would highly recommed this CBT.

Don't use this place

Don't use this place. You attend class and then say that you didn't. Constantly call and text you. You do the project then claim that you don't. Never seen a place so incompetent. On the other hand, the teachers are great. I have learned so much from them. They are the only reason this place is not getting one star.

Reliable support, relevant information, knowledgeable instructor

The six months of skill development, including projects, contained all the necessary information for me to begin my software journey prepared for the sheer scope of development. The career support that followed for six months and beyond provided me the skillset to market my abilities, as well as information for what to expect in the job application process.

One of the worst boot camps possible

One of the worst boot camps possible luckily I was able to find a lot of the information outside of the Boot Camp taught better for cheaper. They’ll do anything to not let you get your money back when they don’t come through with the Assistance.
The guy if he did show up would send me a list of places some 100 miles away one was join the army for the job and we would need to have a meeting for this and sit there and waste my time scheduling a zoom call in the middle of my day
This was one of the many excuses they had why they wouldn’t give me money back for this garbage over priced course. Saying I didn’t put in the work. I applied at 100s of locations but no one values bootcamps.
Luckily I live in the NYC metro area and was able to get my certifications with zero help from the content at Quickstart. And now have a good paying job with a big company, but this has nothing to do with this nonsense organization
Anyone rating this five stars must not have anything to compare it to and like others have said they do bribe people to leave reviews. In fact keep emailing me, which is why I’m leaving this review just being reminded and how much of a waste of money this was.

I started the bootcamp with QuickStart…

I started the bootcamp with QuickStart in July of 2022 and finished December of 2022. It was a great experience. I choice this particular bootcamp because it was cheaper than the one I originally had signed up for at the University of South Florida. Their particular program was basically all LinkedIn Learning videos with no actual teacher involved and it was 5K to 6K more than QuickStart. QuickStart had it's own learning media and instructors as well as actual instructors who actually held classes. We were able to learn throughout the week and ask questions, get examples, or extra guidance from a knowlegable instructor. Their content covered more than the CyberSecurity certification for people who have no experience in IT at all. It was also a great experience for me to upskill and re-learn some things through the A+ and Network+ coursework we went through, while also getting into Security+ and CySA+ material. After completing the course I was successful at completing my Security+ certification and am currently studying for the CySA+. I would recommend QuickStart to anyone having gone through the program myself and find it to be worth the value.

My experience with Quick start was that I was left reading on my own and watching YouTube videos to learn the material. The "instructor" was unhelpful and didn't have time to answer questions and getting access to the labs was challenging.

I see a lot of bad reviews here but why I still love Quickstart?

I see a lot of bad reviews here. But for me, nothing is perfect. For example, Quickstart was able to help me import certifications on my Upwork Profile. No hassle at all. As long as it gives a reputation to my name using their badge certifications and learning new things at the same time. I'm all good for it! Recommended!

Waste of Money and Time

Please do not waste your precious money and time on this program, it's not worth it at all! I was in it and finished and got nothing out of it. The only thing you get once completed is a certificate of completion that honestly doesn't even look professional. And that's if you also finish paying them, to this day I still haven't received the certificate and when I emailed them about it they told me it's because I still have a balance due. Of course, I knew that I'm doing payments on it because I couldn't afford to pay everything upfront. But the funny thing is that they compared the certificate to an actual degree like they're equivalent, which they're not. They care more about the money than they do about you. It's a scam they take advantage of people who aren't tech-savvy because you get nothing out of it that helps in the work field. The program is a complete mess majority of your time will be spent watching monotone videos, and labs BUT when I was in my cohort they had a real problem giving us access to the labs on time and once they did we were onto the next topic. It is fast pace program so try to keep up or just fall into another cohort but in the end, it won't matter because the whole reason most of us join this boot camp is the hopes of landing a job after. And the job assistance is not helping because you need real certifications and experience to land a position. To get the right certifications you have to pay for the exams which Quickstart said they'll offer vouchers for it however, I've never received any and when asked about them they completely ignored the question. I won't say anything bad about the instructor (Ty) he did the best job he could trying to teach us, it's just QuickStart which is just another money-hungry program taking from the helpless who just want to better themselves and start a career. There are far better recourses out there than QuickStart, I'm currently in another boot camp but it's from a non-profit organization so it's FREE, yes completely free you just have to get accepted. It's called Per Scholas it's a little more faced paced but they actually care about their learners and the instructors really teach you what the work field is looking for. Now that's a program to join if your goal is to start a tech career but don't know where to start. I wish I knew about Per Scholas before QuickStart I would've saved thousands of dollars. QuickStart just wants your money after they're done with you, they don't care, please do not join!

Quickstart is a scam

I was really hoping for a better experience as I wanted to change careers. I quickly learned that the videos provides from the curriculums are practically useless. They dump a lot of information at you in hopes that some of it sticks. The labs don't work half the time, the videos are unedited with no functional subtitles. As far as career services goes, all they do is post jobs which you're highly unqualified for. The only good thing about this program is Ty(Michael). DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS PROGRAM. They prey on people who desperately want a career change. You'll be better educated by signing up with letsdefend or tryhackme. They are much better options for a fraction of the cost.

STAY AWAY!

STAY AWAY!
False promises and horrible support.
I was misled into thinking that just by going through the course, I'd obtain certifications that could be actually used in finding a job (ex. Comptia A+, Network, Security, etc). Come to find out, I get "Quickstart" certificates of completion for each subject covered.... I'm not the only one that was misled, multiple classmates of mine thought the same thing.

The instruction we received were a series of pre-recorded videos from people who probably shouldn't be teaching. They're monotone and hard to watch and thus, hard to stay engaged and actually learn what's being "taught".

We met twice a week with an actual instructor, but it was more of going over labs, so if you're not caught up, it's very easy to get lost.

The only saving grace of this whole thing was my class' assigned mentor who was very helpful in completing projects, but other than him the other support staff was horrible. My advisor checked in with me in the very beginning, but when I reached out to change cohorts because I fell behind, he ghosted me for almost an entire week. When he did finally reach back out, he acted as if I was an inconvenience and was doing me some huge favor. I had other classmates who also had problems with him after the completion of this course when it came to the next steps.

It's been weeks since I've completed the course and I haven't received any type of follow up, certificate of completion from quickstart, certificate vouchers, NOTHING. My online dashboard thing says I haven't even "completed" the course....

You can find a lot better resources online for free, don't waste your money and your time learning from people who don't care about what you retain, they just want your money.
