I’m a legacy Quicken user since the early 1990s. I hate the fact that you have moved to a subscription-based service that requires annual payments to manage my personal finances. I love the product, b... See more

I use Quicken for my personal check book management and like it very much; however most of Quicken’s bells and whistles are wasted on me. A simple and less expensive plan would work better for me.

Hate the Subscription model

It’s alright, not the greatest I’ve ever used. Definitely useful and everyday logging. But there subscription model really sucks ! I’m sure everyone else hates it

I really like Quicken

I really like Quicken, I have used it for years. I wish you would design a version that is for personal use only. Would be less expensive and I think you would sell a lot of them.

Great, but still needs some tweaks

Good user interface, and ability to view all accounts at one is key! Would love the capability to completely separate the business and personal accounts without changing the environment completely. Better (private) analysis would be perferred, including closed environment AI tools to predict when balances could be nearing the report window - longer-term predictability. Also, more intuitive feedback on uncharacteristic spending plans. Would be good to be able to integrate with other systems, like LegalZoom, and others based on the type of business (inventory tracking against production projections, etc.

I don't want to back up my information to the cloud.

The person eventually solved my problem, but my file ended up in a bit of a mess - missing and incorrect entries. The thing that really irked me, though, was that I told him I did not want to store my information in the cloud, that I back up regularly to a local device. When I went to close Quicken after our session, it said that it was backing up to the cloud and I had to put quite a bit of effort into stopping the process.

It's convenient except when it isn't

It's convenient in that it makes reconciling accounts fairly easy if you can download the transaction. But not many financial institutions that I use will download during an "update." And even my Citizens Bank credit card won't download at the same time as my Citizens Bank checking accounts because they are on different websites and if you indicate that the credit card is with Citizens Bank, it won't let you tell it do download from a different URL. Actually, the updates used to work MUCH more consistently, but that was my memory from at least 8-10 years ago. What did Quicken break since then without fixing???

Quicken is affordable and appears to be…

Quicken is affordable and appears to be the best personal finance system out there. But Quicken does not have the power I would like in an accounting system. As a CPA(non-practicing) I was hoping to get a more traditional accounting system. I like the checks and balances found in a double entry system like Quickbooks. Unfortunately Intuit has made Quickbooks unaffordable for a personal finance system. I am not happy with the subscription services format with both these products.

Ordered CANCELLED without notification

Ordered checks for my wife on 7/8, delivery promised for 7/28. No delivery on 7/28. Called 7/29 and order was CANCELLED. They said they emailed for address confirmation on 7/9 and didn't get a reply. Neither my wife or I received any email or telephone call. Quicken would not even confirm our emails or telephone numbers. Didn't even apologize or seem the least bit concerned that my wife is currently now out of checks. Will NEVER do business with them again after 30+ years as a customer.

Really good...but could be even better

I've been a Quicken user since Microsoft Money was discontinued in 2010. Seems like until recently, I was always running into new bugs -- replacing old ones that got fixed -- but they finally seem to have that under control now. However, my last auto-renewal was anything BUT smooth. My card was declined for some unknown reason (they didn't specify), and I was unable to fix it for over 24 hours.

Perhaps if they finally get all the bugs worked out AND get the auto-renew issues fixed, then perhaps I can raise my rating to 4 or 5 stars in the future.

Quicken is an okay product

Quicken is an okay product. I am disappointed by the ever-increasing cost. The automated updating of account information seems to have gotten worse over the years. Fixing this and making the process easier/faster should be a high priority.
