I've used Qobuz now for a little over two years, and the experience has been mainly positive. There is one thing that is a bugbear for classical music listeners however: the track listing of ma... See more

Switched from Apple Music as a family — and glad we did.
We made the move primarily because Qobuz pays artists fairly, and after some testing even our sceptical teenagers agreed to come on board. The sound quality is great and the catalogue held up.
That said, three things would make this a much easier sell to new subscribers:
**Family plan is nearly invisible.** It can only be found and activated on the web — not in the app. For a feature that could win over entire households, it deserves far more prominence.
**No lyrics.** This is a real gap for younger listeners. Spotify and Apple both offer it, and it's one of the first things our kids noticed was missing. A karaoke mode (like Apple's) would be a bonus on top.
**Playlist migration is gated behind a paywall.** Having to pay extra just to transfer playlists with more than 100 songs makes switching unnecessarily painful. Bundling this into the first couple of months would remove a real barrier for people leaving Apple or Spotify.
I'm rooting for Qobuz — a strong European alternative in this space matters. These are fixable things, and fixing them would make the platform genuinely compelling for families.

Signed up for a free trial on my laptop, then when I downloaded the app on my phone (because the website is buggy) it started another free trial with my Apple ID. I cancelled the apple subscription immediately because I didn't like the website and didn't find it to be user friendly. However unfortunately I forgot about the first trial I started on my laptop. I then noticed my card was charged $30... so I contacted customer support to explain and say I have NOT used the service at all and could they please refund me the charge as I did not want to continue the subscription. That was 2 weeks ago, still no reply and their chatbot response is "sorry we don't refund". I really don't recommend this overpriced music platform.

Superb catalogue, especially for classical music.
But please, enhance your browser !

Qobuz provides the best streaming experience and allows purchase of music to download. Satisfying for the discovery of new music and retaining and hearing older classics at thier best.

Great app overall, the music library is extremely dense !

after months of playback issues and no response from customer service, my query was finally picked up and since then it seems the problem has been almost completely resolved, i rarely have playback issues anymore. i love this app, they pay their artists 5x more than Spotify and don't invest in military drones. they platform and catalogues are very similar, i would recommend switching to them.

I switched to this to get away from Spotify due to concerns about the morality of the people running it. I am generally very happy with Qobuz- I just wished they had more "radio" and also that I could read lyrics

I switched from Spotify after 5 years. I like the higher bitrate and quality of music on Qobuz. It was tailor made for audiophiles with good equipment.
The layout is also great. Easy to get to my favorite artists and songs. And bringing all 6500 tracks of my playlist from Spotify was a breeze.

The quality of music and the variety of music.

You guys made it really easy to switch to a new platform but keep all my tracks and playlists from Spotify. Thank you! Sometimes my app won’t play a couple of songs but besides that it’s been great!

I switched from Spotify for political reasons. There are a few minor missing albums and songs. I find the trade of minimal though for the return in quality.

Artists are paid well and the customer service is very friendly. Studeny plan is quite affordable. A good and more ethical alternative Spotify.
The only thing is that they can sometimes miss a few smaller artists since the platform isn't as big as Spotify. But they have most people and I feel a lot happier giving my money to Qobuz!

Qobuz pays their artists SIX times more than any other streaming service AND has the highest quality by far. Why would you pay money for any other service if you're a music lover? Physical media first, always, BUT if you MUST-- then Qobuz, without a doubt.

Reply from Qobuz
the streamer very rarely works, simply puts up endless messages saying that its 'having issues'!
Use Tidal. these people are rubbish

Good editorial content and curated playlists. I also like that Qobuz is paying artists more money and is a european company (i was previously using Tidal)

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I read other reviews of Qobuz. Everyone loves it but I have truly been struggling with it from the beginning.
-My 1st big disappointment came when I saw how limited the playlists are on Qobuz. I'm someone who is always looking for new music and I have to say Spotify was superior in creating ever-rotating playlists that I found so many fantastic new songs and artists through.
-Even though there is a smaller library, it has mostly everything I was listening to already. Except, why do they not have full discographies of the artists they do have? A lot of the artists I listen to only have 2 or 3 of their many albums available. I'd get it if they released on multiple labels and it has something to do with rights, but that's not the case. So why can't I get ALL of some artist's music?
-Their New Music is not really new half the time. They fill it up with re-releases of very old albums which to me, is not new.
-Now, the app itself? Not great. During work I listen on the web player, but when I get into my car and try to play it on my phone, I have to remember to switch it from Web Player to my phone in the app or it will continue to play on my computer. This took me a few mins of frustration to figure out the first time. And with my goldfish memory, I never remember to switch it before I start playing on my phone. It's 2026, the app should be more intuitive than this.
-I prefer to have my music shuffle when driving, but the phone app NEVER leaves shuffle on. Even when I switch playlists, I have to hit the shuffle button again. Meanwhile, the web player ALWAYS leaves it on. Clearly there is no communication between web player and app, which I think is a massive flaw.
-They do not ban AI music and seem to have no plan to do so in the future. So they're no better than other companies when it comes to that.
But! I do have some positive things to say- they do pay artists better, which I very much appreciate.
Also, the sound quality is absolutely better. I noticed it on my first listen and that has kept me around longer than I may have stayed otherwise.
Overall, I'd say that Qobuz is great for audiophiles or people who strictly just want to listen to albums. If you know what you already like or your main genres are classic rock, world music, or brand new pop artists- you will very much enjoy Qobuz.
However, that's not me unfortunately, and I will likely go somewhere else.

I love the quality of the music, and the discovery feature

Sound quality is the outstanding attribute. Prefer the layout to TIDAL's, the most obvious competition.
