Trying to contact Qatar customer services to see if possible to change a flight as it seems I can't do it in the app. Called one advertised phone number that referred me to an English speaking number... See more

I genuinely questioned how Qatar…
I genuinely questioned how Qatar Airways has earned its reputation as the "best airline in the world." Based on my experience, I would tell travelers: don't believe the hype.
I was moved from my originally assigned seat to an emergency exit row located adjacent to the lavatories. Throughout much of the flight, I had to endure a persistent odor of human waste, which made the journey extremely unpleasant.
An even bigger disappointment was the conduct of the cabin crew. Because of my seat assignment, the jump seats for takeoff and landing were directly in front of me. On my flight from Doha to Boston on June 18, our landing was delayed twice by air traffic control, leaving two flight attendants seated in front of me for approximately 45 minutes. Rather than maintaining professionalism, they openly carried on a conversation that every nearby passenger could hear.
During that time, they repeatedly complained about working for Qatar Airways and said they wanted to quit. They stated that the main reason they remained with the airline was the free housing benefit, since they doubted they could otherwise afford to live in Doha. They also discussed recent cost-cutting measures, expressed indifference toward providing world-class service because they had not received their usual annual bonuses, criticized their supervisor, spread rumors about management, and talked at length about drinking, partying in Boston, and hoping to date an American as a way to eventually leave Qatar.
Whether those personal comments were true or not is beside the point. The fact that they were discussed openly in front of paying passengers reflected a level of unprofessionalism I did not expect from an airline with such a prestigious reputation.
To ensure my account is transparent and accurate, I also intend to publish a video on YouTube in the coming days that includes audio or video of the conversation I witnessed during the flight.
My verdict: based on my experience, I would not recommend choosing Qatar Airways solely because of its perceived world-class service and flawless reputation. I expected a much higher standard and left disappointed.
To the Qatar Airways Privilege Club…
To the Qatar Airways Privilege Club team,
I am writing to formally escalate an unresolved issue that has now cost me many hours and left a significant balance of points unusable.
On the advice of your staff, I transferred my Payreward points into 400,000 Avios specifically so I could book a reward ticket for my daughter as a co-traveller. At no point before this transfer was I told of any restriction that would prevent this booking.
When I attempted the booking, I was unable to add my daughter's name. Over multiple phone calls, several of your staff assured me the problem would be fixed promptly; it was not. On your instruction, I submitted a written complaint, and I received a reply stating the matter was resolved and inviting me to try again. It still did not work. On my most recent call, I was told the booking cannot be completed because the points must be transferred from specific cards first — a requirement that was never disclosed to me before I converted my points.
I have been a member for few years. I transferred these points in good faith based on your staff's guidance, and I now find my points effectively stuck and the intended trip for my daughter impossible to book.
As an Australian consumer, I would note that being advised to convert my points on the basis of a booking that your own systems and rules do not in fact permit raises concerns under the Australian Consumer Law, which prohibits misleading or deceptive conduct. I would prefer to resolve this directly and amicably with you, but I want to be transparent that I am aware of my rights and the external avenues available to me.
I am therefore requesting that you either: (1) enable the co-traveller reward booking for my daughter using my existing 400,000 Avios as originally advised, or (2) reverse the points transfer in full so that my balance is restored to its prior state.
Please confirm in writing which resolution you will provide and the timeframe. I would appreciate a response from a supervisor or case manager rather than a general reply.

Worst Airline service in my life
Worst Airline service in my life. I had 2 connecting flights and both were delayed. And this delay cost me couple of $1000. Just bcz of their negligence. When I asked for a compensation, they refused and said we'll compensate only for our flights but not for other flight.
Never gonna travel again with them ever.
Booked a flight with Qatar - still no refund
Booked a flight with BA (operated by Qatar). Flight cancelled a couple of days before return flight. No contact, no offer of an alternative flight, no refund. Left to fend for myself in Hanoi, Vietnam back in March 2026. Qatar (and BA) website and app utterly useless. Could not contact them and so had to book my own flight home via China.
It's now June 2026, and after numerous emails back and forth, between BA and Qatar and TravelUp, still no sign of a refund for the cancelled flight. BA blame Qatar, Qatar blame BA or the travel company. Travel company useless also.
Looked at ABTA, ATOL - far too complicated to even contact them.
A multi-million pound company and they can't be bothered to refund what is legally mine, about £500 (maybe less).
Rip-off Britain strikes again at the little man :(
Qatar Airways Worst customer service out of any Airline in the world
Qatar Airways have some.of.the worst customer service in.the world. Ima gold member and Qatar regularly change flights to disadvantaged their passengers, and if you miss around something as a result of them charging not a problem.
The Qatar Airways staff lie to you, treat you like dirt, they're so disrespectful and I will not take any responsibility for the mistakes 100% the Arilines fault.
I sated they say sorry in a very patronizing response and they tell you pay something else if you want.
Qatar Airways have no care and take no responsibility for their mistakes and Incompetence.
If I was to rate Qatar Airways for customer service of something goes wrong which is 100% their fault, I would rate them 1 out of 1000.
Absolutely disgracefully bad customer service.
Had family from Germany fly with Qatar…
Had family from Germany fly with Qatar Airways.
They were in the air when the US attacked Iran and the airplane had to return mid-flight.
When they arrived back at the original airport they were just handed a paper with Qatar contacts, which non of them could be reached.
No help from the airlines regarding accommodation or rebooking flights, no compensation, nothing.
From an appearent top airline you would and should expect more.
Never using them again!
its been almost 4 days
its been almost 4 days, since Qatar airways restricted my account after i deposited almost 350k worth of avios, all in the name of securing my account from fraud, i have sent them countless emails, spoke to closer to 50 agents in the last 4 days, emailed them with my ID, what kind of non sense is this company they don't even have an internal communication channel apart from an email, which they email and they keep escalating, they have escalated my issue so much that the escalator is not even working anymore. shameless.
Greedy, Thieves and RUDE
Greedy. Arrogant. Rude. Thieves.
They cancelled my grandparents flight and they did give a FULL REFUND.(this is first scenario)
Not only that a single typo on the name will cost you 100$ after noticing it 10min purchasing the ticket.(this is the 2nd scenrio)
After I do my business flight - I will refuse to fly with Qatar. Stick to your Etihad/Emirates.
Misleading cancellation policy and poor customer service
We contacted Qatar air and asked if we booked a particular flight would we eligible for a refund if we needed to cancel We were told we would We even have an email stating we would be eligible for a refund but when we had to cancel they took a $700 fee because “they changed their policy” after we booked. Customer service is extremely poor Showed no interest in helping us After talking to other Qatar customers we realise this is a common problem
Qatar Airways world leading and best airline?
Qatar Airways world leading and best airline with setting the standard for service excellence?
Maybe until you have to deal with the (Indian based) customer service. Trying for three months now to get the complete refund from a booking cancelled by them in March. Contact resulted mainly in telephone excuses (high volume of requests, 30 to 40 working days to process) and no reactions to numerous e-mails. Will send them FINAL NOTICE today and hand-over all data to a debt collection agency.
Awful customer service
Awful customer service. Tbey don't respond to what complain about. Letting down a good airline . I am a regular flyer but now I will look for other options first before I go this airline.
Confirmed Wheelchair Assistance Was…
Confirmed Wheelchair Assistance Was Never Provided — Shameful Service
}
★☆☆☆☆
Absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable treatment of an elderly passenger with reduced mobility.
My mother, who suffers from significant mobility issues and severe leg pain, had wheelchair assistance requested and confirmed in advance for her entire journey from Muscat to Montreal via Doha. We specifically relied on Qatar Airways' commitment to provide this essential assistance when purchasing the ticket.
Upon arrival in Montreal, the promised wheelchair assistance simply did not exist.
An elderly woman in pain was effectively abandoned and left to struggle through the airport despite a confirmed special-assistance request. The physical suffering, stress, and humiliation she experienced were entirely avoidable and were the direct result of Qatar Airways' failure to deliver a service it had explicitly undertaken to provide.
What makes this even worse is that wheelchair assistance is not a luxury service—it is an accessibility commitment for vulnerable passengers. When an airline confirms such assistance and then fails to provide it, it demonstrates a shocking level of negligence and disregard for passenger welfare.
Qatar Airways markets itself as a world-class airline. Our experience showed the exact opposite. A five-star rating means nothing when a sick elderly passenger is left without the assistance that was promised and required.
I strongly warn elderly travelers, passengers with disabilities, and anyone requiring mobility assistance: do not assume that a confirmed assistance request will actually be honored.
This was not merely poor customer service. It was a serious failure of duty toward a vulnerable passenger, and Qatar Airways should be ashamed of how this situation was handled
Great experience
Recently traveled with them. My experience was non forgettable. The crew were friendly , kind , respectful and knowledgeable. The flight was big and comfortable with nutritious meals onboard
Used to be one of the best
Used to be one of the best, if not the best, airline out there. Now that offer a so called lite version, hard to see what is on offer, but cheaper fares can result in additional costs of almost £1,000 for a couple if they simply want to sit together. At a time when Middle East airlines are trying to get customers back, this seems farcical.
Stranded-left and ignored
I have waited for some while to write this review, in the vague hope that Qatar airlines would be as good as their advertising slogan of being the best airline and match this with their customer service model and reach out to myself and family and explain their lack of actions in abandoning customers and ignoring the needs of children and disability.
Our issues relate to the period after the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East. We as a family, and I am sure all other passengers were aware that disruption would ensue, however this does not mean in my opinion that standards of customer service cease to exist and due care for a customer base is ignored. We were privileged enough to be travelling in Q suite business class as a family of four to undertake our wedding in Thailand.
This was a trip that was meant to stay in our memories for ever for the right reasons.
I do not have anywhere near enough space on this platform to share the full experience I and my family were subjected to in the pursuit of getting home.
On Wednesday 2nd March 2026 on our arrival at Bangkok airport from our internal flight we transited to book onto our flight home we were ignored with Qatar staff literally refusing to engage, when I pressed for information I was told to leave the check in area as nobody would or was prepared to assist, we pointed out we had a disabled young adult in our family and a child of 11, this cut no ice and we were told we would be contacted or we could have a refund in due course for our flight !
We then had to arrange a hotel at 1am in the morning that had space and adjoining rooms to meet the family need at full cost to ourselves.
It was not until the 5th March that we received a call from Qatar advising a flight was available with Malaysian airlines on the 7th March flying via Kuala Lumpur to London, we gratefully accepted. Upon arrival on the 7th we went to check in and were told by check in staff that there was no connecting flight available from Kuala Lumpur and not to get on the flight, we had no choice however as Qatar had failed to advise us, and we knew that if we failed to get on the flight we would have failed to adhere and their obligation to get us home would end. Upon arrival the same day in KL we were met at the arrival by airport staff that advised we go to a pre booked hotel to await further instruction, no correspondence was received until around 12am on the 8th from hotel staff asking why we were not at the airport for a 1am flight, we had had no notification that we were booked onto a flight, we rushed to the airport only to be turned airway and my disabled son ridiculed and laughed at by Malaysian check in staff due to his distress.
After another night of anxiety we attended the Malaysian check in desk as no rep was available from Qatar and spent hours remonstrating about the lack of communication and finally were advised we were booked onto a flight to London via Saudi when we arrived with our luggage we were then told this had been cancelled. After a further period of begging to assist we were told there would be a flight to China!
We were terrified that we were a further distance from home already and would be even further from home with no guarantee of a connecting flight as we had already experienced. But we had no choice and took the flight.
We had to endure a 13 hour layover with no access to nutrition or hydration. My disabled son who also has coeliac disease was at crisis point and we juggled with medical intervention, but he was to scared.
We then endured a 13.5 hr flight home again with no food and only water that was available to meet needs.
As I stated we were privileged to afford to book as business class customers and if this was the service we received my heart goes out to customers with a lower flight band.
More importantly, we now know this airline does not care about the welfare and needs of their customers, they abandoned a disabled customer and a child, and had we not continually fought to get home we would I am afraid, been left.
I have reached out to Qatar but the blanket reply of no reply to the specific areas I have raised cements even further their stance.
A wedding trip was destroyed and tarnished and the irony of this I still receive e mails to rebook wit Qatar. Thank you Qatar, but never again will you get our custom or money after the distress and harm you caused my family.
LOST STROLLER SINCE JULY 2025
LOST STROLLER SINCE JULY 2025: Qatar Airways refuses to resolve PIR CMBQR61653! In July 2025, I flew with Qatar Airways from Hamburg Airport to Colombo Airport (CMB) via Doha. Upon arrival, my child's stroller was missing. A Property Irregularity Report was filed immediately under reference number: CMBQR61653. It has now been nearly a full year. For 11-12 months, Qatar Airways customer service has done absolutely nothing except sending automated copy-paste replies stating my case is under "highest priority". This is a direct breach of the Montreal Convention, where baggage is legally declared lost after 21 days. It is completely unacceptable that Qatar Airways, Hamburg Baggage Handling, and Colombo Baggage Handling (CMB) have failed to resolve this or pay out the mandatory financial compensation for almost a year. I demand that Qatar Airways Global Baggage Services escalates this file (CMBQR61653) immediately, stops the boilerplate emails, and pays out the full legal compensation for my lost property now.
Terrible Experience
My experience with Qatar Airways has been extremely disappointing.
In July 2025, I requested a refund in the form of a travel voucher. I was advised that the process would take approximately 5–7 working days. After more than two weeks and numerous contacts with customer services, I was still being told to wait a further 24–48 hours each time I asked for an update.
The voucher was eventually issued around three weeks later. However, because of the delays and lack of progress, I had already initiated a chargeback with my bank. Qatar Airways then cancelled the voucher and advised that the funds would be returned through the banking process.
Several months later, I discovered that the chargeback had been unsuccessful and that the refund had not been processed and the matter remained unresolved. I contacted the airline repeatedly and was assured on multiple occasions that the refund had been escalated, approved, or would be processed shortly. Despite these assurances, the matter remained unresolved.
What should have been a straightforward 5–7 working day voucher refund turned into a dispute lasting many months. Eventually, after many months without resolution, I commenced court proceedings in order to recover the money owed.
Following the commencement of legal proceedings, Qatar Airways agreed to settle the claim and paid the refund, court fee and statutory interest in full.
While I welcome the resolution, I remain disappointed that legal action was required to achieve an outcome that should have been resolved through normal customer service channels.
I should also add that I have flown with Qatar Airways many times over the years and have generally found the onboard product and travel experience to be excellent. This post is not a criticism of the airline as a whole, but rather of how this particular refund dispute was handled. Unfortunately, the experience has given me serious reservations about doing business with the airline in the future should a problem arise that requires customer service intervention.
In my opinion, this matter should never have reached that stage. What began as a simple refund request escalated into a lengthy dispute that ultimately required legal action to resolve. Over many months I spent a considerable amount of time chasing updates, reviewing correspondence, preparing documentation and consulting with lawyers in order to recover money that should have been refunded in the first place.
Based on my experience, this is not how a premium international airline should treat its customers. The handling of this case fell far below the standard of customer service I would reasonably expect.
This post reflects my personal experience and the documented timeline of events.
For the avoidance of doubt, I am not seeking any further contact regarding this matter. The claim has been settled and is now closed.
Officially the Worlds Worst Customer Service
I know it may be hard to believe, but Qatar Airways might have the world’s worst customer service department. Instead of sponsoring FIFA, PSG, Formula 1 and Inter they should invest that money in training staff as to what customer service means. Do yourself a favour and fly one of the Asian airlines.
No response.
Have just booked 2 return flights through TopCashback. The cash back states 5% but I only received a fraction of that. TopCashback have said it’s up to Quatar and their terms and conditions, maybe only some of the cost is viable. Quatar have been contacted but they haven’t responded yet. Have we done the right thing booking with them? Swayed by the Qsuites in businees class, maybe we should have stuck with Emirates.
Refund cancellation flight
A few days ago we were sent our refund for the cancelled flight. Total monies paid £12000 for flight from Heathrow to Melbourne and back which includes stopping at Doha in a small hotel on the return flight. It took over two months to receive the refund and only received £4000! I believed I would receive at least £6000. Still pressing Qatar for details of the various costs but at the moment they won't do that! I am not at all happy with Qatar Airways 😢
