Qatar Airways cancelled our flight
Qatar Airways cancelled our Tokyo–Doha–Ankara flight and moved us to the following day. My family had to pay around USD 400 for an additional hotel night in Tokyo. The airline provided no hotel, reimbursement, partial payment, or voucher, only repeated template responses stating that the cancellation was outside their control. Very poor support for a family stranded abroad. I would not choose Qatar Airways again.
VOUCHER SCAM
Beware of the information provided by Qatar Airways customer service. I accidentally made a duplicate booking under my own name due to a system layout misunderstanding. When I called support to fix this, the agent explicitly instructed me to convert the duplicate ticket into a Travel Voucher, reassuring me that I could use this voucher to book a new ticket for my friend.
Trusting their official advice, I did exactly that. However, when trying to use the voucher, it turned out to be strictly name-bound something the agent completely failed to mention. I now have an unusable voucher for a second seat under my own name, and my friend had to pay for a completely new ticket out of pocket.
I am financially disadvantaged purely because I followed the incorrect instructions of Qatar Airways' own staff. An "internal investigation" has been opened, but this is an unacceptable way to treat customers. I expect Qatar Airways to rectify this staff error immediately by either providing a full refund or making the voucher transferable as promised.

Qatar Airways — Confirmed My Rights in Writing, Then Ignored Them
I am a disabled passenger. I travelled on QR028 from Manchester on 10 May 2026. The flight was delayed by hours, causing me to miss my Nairobi connection. I arrived at my final destination 16 hours and 35 minutes late. Throughout the delay, Qatar Airways provided minimal information to passengers. We were not kept informed of what was happening, why, or what would be done for us.
After missing my connection, at approximately 3am at Hamad International Airport I was told that transport to the hotel to which I was assigned to would arrive in 15 minutes. I waited over an hour. As a disabled passenger, standing in an airport in the early hours of the morning after an already exhausting day of travel, this was not a minor inconvenience.
During the overnight stay, my checked baggage was completely inaccessible. I purchased essential clothing and medication at Hamad Airport — searching extensively for the cheapest options available in an airport that is almost entirely high-end retail. I submitted receipts and claimed reimbursement under UK Regulation 261/2004, which gives passengers a mandatory right to essential items during disruption-enforced overnight stays. Qatar Airways' initial response: this does not constitute a duty of care. When I pushed back citing the law, their VIP & Premium Care Officer reversed position and confirmed in writing that clothing expenses are covered. I have this confirmation in writing. They then ignored every subsequent email on the subject and paid nothing.
On my eventual arrival in Nairobi the following day, my luggage did not arrive. When it finally arrived a day late, it was structurally destroyed — the hard shell punctured through to the interior. Qatar offered USD 66. The Montreal Convention permits claims of up to approximately USD 1,700. My counter-claim for USD 250 — the actual replacement cost — was met with silence across months of correspondence.
Over roughly a six weeks I made more than a 30 contacts: emails, a 55-minute escalation phone call, a formal complaint to the Group CEO, and a letter before action threatening County Court proceedings. Qatar's response to the letter before action: "we are unable to find any new information that would change our findings."
To receive the £520 statutory delay compensation I was legally entitled to, Qatar Airways required me to sign a Release and Discharge declaring it full and final settlement of all claims — forcing me to choose between my legal entitlement and pursuing the expenses and baggage claims simultaneously. Exhausted, I accepted. They kept the expenses money their own officer confirmed they owed. They paid a fraction of the baggage damage.
If you have a claim against Qatar Airways — especially as a disabled passenger who has additional protections under UK law — do not spend months on their customer care process. Go directly to Money Claim Online (the UK County Court small claims system). Document everything. Do not sign anything described as full and final settlement until every matter is resolved.
Qatar Airways' strategy appears to be: wear passengers down until they give up. It worked on me.

Disappointing experience after involuntary rebooking
This was my first flight with Qatar Airways, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing.
My original itinerary was Frankfurt – Doha – Jakarta. Due to an overbooked flight, I was involuntarily rebooked in Doha to Doha – Bangkok (Qatar Airways) – Jakarta (Garuda Indonesia).
Initially, I was offered a Business Class upgrade due to the inconvenience, but this was later withdrawn without explanation. The rebooking caused additional stress, a more complicated travel experience, and my luggage arrived three day late.
I understand that Garuda Indonesia was responsible for baggage handling as the final operating carrier. However, this situation only occurred because Qatar Airways changed my original itinerary.
What disappointed me most was the lack of a customer-focused solution afterwards. My request for a goodwill gesture was declined.
I chose Qatar Airways because of its excellent reputation and therefore expected a higher standard of customer service.
I have yet to encounter a bad flight…
I have yet to encounter a bad flight with Quatar but my flight from Doha to Johannesburg on the 11th of July 2026 was special. I took a big group of school children which is already difficult but the flight attendants were absolutely amazing. The pilot was a South African which is special when coming home and a special shout out must be made to Cutikan. She was the nicest flight attendant I've ever. Her team under her was amazing too.

Online check-in via website or mobile apps are both unavailable. Contacted livechat agent to report the case but they can't offer any help.
Horrible airline
Horrible airline. Very poor customer service. Raised an issue with them and they only replied more than 6 months. Basically their online booking system was not processing my payment so had to make the purchase at the airport for a higher price. The customer service agent was claiming that my transaction was declined by my bank when the payment could not even go through. Why misrepresent the situation? This is my third really bad experience with this airline so it is proof that there is absolutely no care for customer. They don’t even care about their Trustpilot reviews.
Changed schedules. Kept my money. Thieves.
Flight schedule changed leaving me with a 3 1/2 hour layover until 1:30am with a 4 year old. Qatar actively emailed me saying if it wasn’t appropriate I could have a refund. Requested one via my agent, told I couldn’t have one. Contacted Qatar who told me I could (have the transcript saved). Agent told me Qatar now only offering 50%. Contacted Qatar again who said “it was exceptional circumstances out of their control”, which to me would fully support me getting a full refund, however they are adamant I can only have 50% despite the fact they can no longer offer me the product I bought. Airlines are crooks and government intervention is needed. I don’t understand how it isn’t theft. Imagine ordering a pair of size 10s online, going to pick them up and being offered size 7 and a 50% refund. If they can’t offer what they’ve sold anymore, a refund should be standard.
Husband needed emergency heart surgery no empathy
Husband needed emergency heart surgery - we were due to travel to see our chidren in May in Australia.. Advised he was in hospital with emergency triple bypass and options- initially gave us full credit vouchers for 3 flights-- husband will now not be able to travel long haul, so recontacted- they wanted marriage certs, hospital letters and GP not fit to fly-- supplied all 7 weeks ago Advised they would refund voucher value in full - refunded but deducted a cancellation fee of 800.00 even after confirming a full refund of to full vakue of vouchers- all documented in writing from them on chat have now completed 64 rows of chat , chased for weeks now - promised call backs that never happen- shame on Qatar for making an already awful and stressful family situation much much worse - stay clear and book another airline.
World's worst ailine?
We have flown several times with Qatar previously and have always been impressed with their planes, staff and service, but now are totally disillusioned with them. In April they informed us of the need to reschedule our flights from Goa to Paris within ten days of our flight date, but when we went on their website they were only offering 3 days, and only one of these had 2 seats available at a supplement. Nevertheless we booked them, only to find that 2 days later we were told to reschedule again. This was impossible to do, as their website, call centre and phone service were totally inactive. The date of the flights came and went, and we were informed that the flights had been cancelled , with no refund or compensation. Airlines have a responsibility to get their clients to their destination on an alternative flight, even if this means them using a different airline, but in spite of our best endeavours to make contact, Qatar totally closed down all customer services and completely abandoned us. It is hard to describe the stress this caused us, having to find accommodation, running out of my husband's medication and the complete uncertainty of how and when we would get home. Fortunately Indigo Airlines stepped up, and we secured flights home, albeit a month later and leaving us 4000 pounds out of pocket! Qatar were a total disgrace. They pride themselves on being the Number One airline, I don't think so. Even now 3 months later I have been unable to make contact with Qatar by website, email, post or SMS, yet they are now up and running, selling new flights and continuing to ignore their loyal customers. Shame on you Qatar for your abysmal service. Customer service? What customer service?
I would never recommend this airline to…
I would never recommend this airline to anyone. To be fair, the planes themselves are beautiful, the facilities are amazing and I couldn't recommend those more. But the staff? Absolutely disgusting.
On my flight to Doha, I was seated near the restroom and took a quiet phone call to check on my sick son. A female crew member approached me and demanded, in a very aggressive tone, that I end the call immediately.
When I arrived in Afghanistan, my baggage was lost. I spent 11 days trying to reach them by phone, no one answered. On the rare occasions someone did pick up, they couldn't speak English clearly and seemed completely untrained, as if they had no idea how to do their jobs.
Back in Doha on July 6th around 8:30 PM, I went to the main reception desk to request a hotel, since I was eligible for a complimentary stay. One agent refused me. I asked to speak to someone else, and a female employee confirmed I should receive a hotel, but after she called her manager, the answer changed to no. I showed them the email confirming my eligibility, but she dismissed it, saying, "We're not giving it to you because it's not free." When I brought up my lost bag, which still hasn't been returned, and this is the second time Qatar Airways has lost my luggage, she replied with attitude, "Did I lose your bag?" I told her, "You work for Qatar, you represent the airline, and I'm just stating what happened." Her response, like so many others, was dismissive and rude.
While I was at that same reception desk, another New Zealand passport holder, a friend of mine was with me. We both knew we didn't need any exit forms to leave Doha. My friend tried explaining this to the staff, especially since he'd already booked a hotel and didn't want to lose the $200 he'd paid. But the Indian lady at the counter insisted we did need paperwork. My friend told her, "I come here twice a year," and I backed him up, saying, "We really don't, could you just check our passports?" She refused, repeating "the system says so" over and over. After a long wait, she finally came back and said, "Fine, show me your passport, you can go." I calmly asked if she could at least apologize for the hassle. Her reply? "No, I'm not apologizing. I didn't do anything wrong." As a result of that delay and the misinformation she gave him, my friend ended up losing his hotel booking altogether, and he is now in the process of applying for compensation.
That sums up the entire experience untrained, unprofessional staff from start to finish. The rudeness and arrogance are beyond anything I've ever seen. When I tried to file complaints, they threatened to call security on me. Even when I was simply recording my surroundings while leaving the airport—not even filming them, they said they'd call the police.
What makes it even worse is that this isn't the first time. I actually complained directly to the airline multiple times last year about very similar incidents. Each time, they replied saying, "We'll deal with it." But I never received any updates, no follow-up, no resolution and I never even got my baggage back. It felt like they simply swept the whole thing under the rug and hoped I would just go away.
Honestly, almost every Indian and Filipino employee I interacted with had a major attitude problem. It's not just one bad apple, it felt like a systemic issue. This airline has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish, and I would never recommend them to anyone.
Very bad service
Very bad service , was trying to change my flight , very difficult to get someone on the phone but when you get one they are not sufficient at all, giving you wrong information . On Qatar web side option to change date of the flight not working. Disappointment .
Extremely disappointing customer service and refund handling
I rarely leave negative reviews, but after trying to resolve this issue for several months, I feel it is important to share my experience.
Qatar Airways changed my departure airport from Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) to Istanbul Airport (IST). Before requesting a refund, I contacted Qatar Airways Support to ask a very specific question: if I selected the refund option due to this airline-initiated schedule change, would I receive a full refund without a cancellation fee?
I received the following written confirmation from Qatar Airways:
"You will receive the full refund... the cancellation fee will not be charged."
Based on that written confirmation, I requested the refund.
To my surprise, Qatar Airways deducted approximately EUR 310 as a cancellation fee anyway.
When I contacted customer support again, another representative acknowledged the issue and confirmed in writing that the deducted EUR 310 cancellation fee would be refunded.
Since then, I have been trying to resolve this matter since April.
Over the past months I have contacted Qatar Airways through live chat countless times. Every time I received the same response: my case had been escalated, someone would follow up, or I would receive an update soon.
At one point, a supervisor informed me that I would receive an update within 96 hours. That deadline passed without any email, phone call or update. I contacted support again and was simply told that my case was still pending and had been escalated once more.
Most recently, I was even asked to provide my phone number so I could be contacted directly as soon as there was news. I provided my number immediately. Once again, I received no call, no email and no update.
What frustrates me most is not only the delayed refund, but the repeated commitments that were never fulfilled. I fully understand that refunds can take time, but repeatedly promising updates and deadlines that are never met is simply unacceptable.
At the time of writing this review, I am still waiting for the refund that Qatar Airways themselves confirmed would be paid.
If Qatar Airways resolves this matter, I will gladly update this review to reflect the outcome. Until then, my experience with their customer service and refund process has unfortunately been extremely disappointing.
This is an a one star airlineline that advertises…
This is an airline that advertises itself as a 5-star one. Nothing is further from the truth and they rank alongside EasyJet and other budget airlines as 1-star.
Back 17 Apr 26 I booked a ticket for my girlfriend to fly Philippines to UK in Nov 26 and as she was heavily pregnant I requested whether I could book a bassinet. I was told by a Qatar Airways (QA)ticket agent there would be no problem and this could all be sorted after the birth.
The first leg in on PAL Express to Manila but it was sold as Qatar Booking. The flight to Doha and onwards to London is on a QA aircraft and flight numbers. Now the baby is born and has a passport I tried this week to add her to the original booking. I am now told that this is impossible as the first leg is on PAL Express. I have been told by the QA call centre they are looking into the matter but am continually told they need another 48 hours. Cancelling the original ticket is not an option as I will loose most of the fee in cancellation charges. Booking another separate ticket is not an option as a 6-month baby cannot travel by itself. She needs to go in a bassinet at my girlfriends seat.
I suggest staying away from this airline as they make statements that are untrue in terms of service they provide and you will find out that that ticket agents do not tell the truth
I have always travelled with Qatar my…
I have always travelled with Qatar my last experience 3yrs ago , booked a flight days ago and just recently read these reviews!!how scary !! I'm sure I wouldn't have booked with them if I would have visited the review sitej before !!please help !!
Recently flew Qatar Airways round-trip…
Recently flew Qatar Airways round-trip from YYZ to DOH. As a regular traveler with them, this experience was highly disappointing. Both flights used very old aircraft, and the entertainment screens barely worked. The cabin felt cramped and chaotic. The food was good as always, but for everything else, I can only give a 1/5.
Disgraceful customer service
Disgraceful customer service. Nearly four months later and I am still waiting for a refund that Qatar Airways publicly said affected passengers could receive.
My original return ticket cost approximately £1,170.
During the Middle East crisis, Qatar Airways cancelled my scheduled return flight. They then rebooked me onto another flight, which was also cancelled. After multiple cancellations and no certainty over when I would actually get home, I had no choice but to purchase an entirely separate flight with another airline using my own money.
At the time, Qatar Airways publicly communicated across its website and social media that customers affected by these disruptions could choose to receive a refund for the unused value of their ticket. I relied on those communications when requesting my refund.
That is where the nightmare began.
After waiting weeks, I was eventually told I would receive less than £400, despite my original ticket costing around £1,170 and the return journey never being used. I immediately requested a full fare calculation and refund breakdown because the figure made absolutely no sense.
That request was made almost two months ago.
Since then? Nothing.
No refund.
No fare breakdown.
No explanation.
No proactive communication whatsoever.
Every time I chase the case, Qatar Airways tells me to contact GoToGate because the booking was made through an agent. GoToGate then tells me they are waiting for Qatar Airways. Weeks pass with complete silence until I call again, only to hear exactly the same script.
As the customer, I have been left in the middle while two companies pass responsibility between each other.
This entire situation exists because Qatar Airways cancelled my flights, not because I changed my plans. I followed the process Qatar Airways instructed affected passengers to follow, yet I have spent months chasing a refund that still hasn’t materialised.
For an airline that markets itself as one of the best in the world, this level of customer service is unacceptable. Delays happen. Crises happen. What is unacceptable is leaving customers out of pocket for months, providing no transparency over refund calculations and forcing them to do all the chasing themselves.
I expected far better from Qatar Airways.
I am a Qatar Airways Privilege Club…
I am a Qatar Airways Privilege Club member (Member No. 526056855, Burgundy status), and I am very disappointed with how my request was handled.
A total of 3,179 Avios expired in May 2026. I was unable to use them because my travel plans were disrupted by the conflict in the region. These were circumstances beyond my control.
I contacted Qatar Airways only two months after the expiration because I wanted to book a flight from Bangkok to France on 22 July, returning on 13 October. I politely asked for a one-time goodwill exception to have my Avios reinstated.
Although the customer service agent was polite, my request was refused without any flexibility.
I am not asking for compensation. I am simply asking Qatar Airways to reinstate my 3,179 expired Avios as a gesture of goodwill, considering the exceptional circumstances and the fact that I remain a loyal Privilege Club member.
Member No. 526056855.
I sincerely hope Qatar Airways will review my case and restore my Avios. This small gesture would demonstrate that Qatar Airways values customer loyalty and treats its members fairly, especially in exceptional circumstances.
Too long story
Too long story. As Im an individual whithout any importance, without knowing which button to press (which low article recall ) they refused to issue any refund. I had to go to the companies that deal with those things professionally. I will be rip off by them. Maybe I will get back some, a little, money back. Sad. I don't recommend.
